The room was more than adequate for our needs. Nice view of Canary Wharf. Location was superb as we were attending an event at the 02 which is 1 tube stop away or 15 min taxi if you want a door to door service. Is the hotel generally a little bit tired in areas, yes, however the cost of rooms here is less than most of the country let alone premium London so all this gets factored in, hence this is our 4th stop in 2 years and we have never once complained. Rooms are big enough, air con works. Cappuccino from the bar was good. Service was fine at reception on check in, topping up coffee/tea etc... and fresh towels.

The only minor drawback I feel the mattresses are a little uncomfortable, however... I am realistic in that what we paid for our room stay and in line with London prices we received overall excellent value for money.

After reading the reviews, we was all very sceptical about the stay, however, once we arrived and entering the hotel. Was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and feel to the hotel. The reception staff was amazing, so accommodating as we was 1 hour early to check in time, but our rooms was ready and we was asked if we wanted to be close together, so they moved us to be together. Fantastic. Without having to be asked. On entering the room, the room was clean and tidy, spotless to be exact. Yes some may moan about decor...but I wasn't there for the decor. I wanted a warm, clean room with a comfy bed to sleep on. This is what I got. The bar staff was lovely, yes the drinks could be classed as a little expensive, however this is London! The lounge was lovely with a fantastic view of th2le canary wharf. So overall, the hotel, is lovely, warm, welcoming and comfy, for £337 for 3 nights, we was very impressed!

I had a fantastic experience staying in room 152, which was really nice, with a big window, a comfortable bed, and everything spotless. The retro style throughout the hotel was stunning—especially the beautiful chandeliers that added such vintage charm. The staff was truly wonderful; everyone was friendly and welcoming, making me feel safe and comfortable, which I appreciated as a solo traveller and photographer visiting London for the first time. The restaurant had great seating, and the lounge offered a relaxing view by the water canal. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, featuring traditional English dishes, which I enjoyed as well. The location was also ideal, just five minutes from public transport, making it easy to explore the city. I absolutely loved my stay, and I’ll definitely be back. Five stars!

We were given an upgraded room on check-in. Lovely clean room and bedding , tea, coffee etc in room. Excellent view over the river docklands. Very good self-serve breakfast with good choice. Staff friendly and good prices at the bar. Excellent location 7 mins short level walk to Docklands Railway. Then, 30 minutes train to Tower Bridge, theatre land etc. 10 minutes steady walk to Thames Uber river boats for a good boat ride past all the sights to Battersea power station.

Unfortunately, the room was a bit cold, but we found a heater, and it soon warmed up.

For London, this is a very affordable place.. However, it is starting to show it's age but isn't falling apart - just a bit worn.. Hot (!) water in the bathroom was great.

For some reason the corridor to my room was always very untidy. Various rooms had put rubbish outside their door instead of waiting for housekeeping to do it. I even found a full set of bedding, and the following day, towels outside one room. Not the hotel's fault obviously, but it still makes the place untidy. My room (9th) floor faced a much larger apartment block. That and the fact that the windows needed a good wash limited the amount of daylight that my room saw.

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews — this is a great find. Yes it's a bit worn, but it's 'once posh' worn and really not that bad. It's spacious, clean, comfortable and very well priced considering its location.

The ambience in the communal areas could be improved - e.g. there's a fruit machine and big 'don't eat your own food' signs fixed to every table, taking up a large chunk of each table. But, other than that, the lounge is comfortable and is the kind of facility that you wouldn't normally find in a London hotel in this price range. The check-in process is REALLY slow and inefficient. Best to just see it as part of the old-school charm of the place.

We have stayed here before, this was our second time after experiencing great service from the staff previously. We got a room upgrade and was pleasantly surprised with the room. We stayed for one night and had a meal at the pizzeria. It was great for what we needed and slepted well. The hotel has charm and you get what you pay for as reflected in the price. Great for one or two nights for somewhere to rest, no frills with a classic hotel vibe. If you require more then this is not the hotel for you. Car park is directly underneath the hotel and straightforward to find, which we use as off street parking is near impossible in this area. Thank you to the staff at the pizzeria for there friendly service, we will come again to enjoy food.

The hotel is missing out on having WiFi in the rooms complimentary. Paying for WiFi in such a business focused area is something, which I think needs addressing. Especially when nearby competitors offer it. I mainly used my mobile plan for my trip and was luckily enough to have reception, which did not affect my stay. There is WiFi in the communal area/lobby. It would be good to have Smart TV fitted in the rooms as it would make the experience of staying here more better and up to date. Apart from these things we would stay again for short stays, however if we were celebrating a special occasion we would book elsewhere.

Location for tube train was great. The surrounding area of Canary Wharf was pristine with lots of bars and eateries. The reception areas of the hotel and the choices of dining were excellent for travellers. The reception staff were very attentive to our needs too. We will definitely stay again when visiting this area.

The window in room 844 wasn't sealed properly so the sound of the nearby overground trains was audible but this was a minor concern. I don't think the no smoking policy is being observed as the smell of tobacco near the lift area on 8th floor was quite strong. Again, not a major concern but a concern nonetheless.

This hotel is a little dated, but, the rooms are clean and big, all the staff we came in contact with were very helpful and polite. This hotel is in a brilliant location. We were going to the O2 and it was a breeze.....

My pet hate with most hotels, and this one was no exception, is the hairdryers. There is always something, either it is not powerful enough, not located in the right place, i.e., not in front of a mirror or lighting is terrible. In this case, they had it plugged in behind the dressing table, so the cord was that short, I would have had to sit on the floor to use it. Fortunately, they brought me another one to use. Thanks guys 😁

Lobby was very nice and big and comfortable, lots of seating. Our room was big and spacious, and they gave us an upgrade on the house. Friendly staff Clean and neat. Didn't charge for holding our baggage after checkout.

Didn't offer complimentary tea outside of the rooms after checkout. If I knew, I would have made a cup of tea and brought it down with me from my room. Some of the furniture was outdated, and my window was slightly ajar, so I couldn't close it completely, also were not sure if the thermostat was working correctly. None of this ruined our experience.
