I recently spent a few nights at the Mont d'Or Hotel in Clarens, and it was a truly memorable experience. The hospitality was exceptional from the moment I arrived, and every detail made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast: The breakfast at Mont d'Or was a highlight of my mornings. It was served in a lovely, light-filled dining room with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. The selection was diverse, featuring freshly baked pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and bread. There was also a delicious hot breakfast, including eggs, bacon, and more. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring everything was replenished promptly. Room: The room I stayed in was cozy and well-appointed. It had a rustic charm with modern touches that made it feel both inviting and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept soundly each night. The room was spacious and included all the amenities I needed, from a well-stocked minibar to a lovely bathroom with a shower. The decor was tasteful, and there was a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. View: The view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to nature made for a relaxing stay, and I enjoyed taking in the scenery throughout my time at the hotel. Overall, Mont d'Or Hotel provided an outstanding experience. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and incredible views made it a perfect getaway spot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Mont d'Or Hotel in Clarens was a delightful experience. The staff, specifically the manager on duty, was extremely attentive and ensured that our stay was comfortable. While quaint and in a small holiday town, the Mont d'Or Hotel and its staff provided a world-class experience. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good, with a wide variety of traditional fare that seemed to be closely monitored for top-ups to ensure everything was fresh (even if you nipped in closer to the end of breakfast, which we did on the second day). At every instance, the staff was extremely friendly and the service was faultless. The room was clean, well appointed and looked as it was in the photos.

Ensure that you request a room on the upper floors as the lowest level faces the parking lot, which may feel a bit exposed to noise/foot traffic if that is something you are sensitive to. This is more a preference than a complaint.

it was a very relaxing and comfortable weekend. Staff are very friendly and helpful, room is very comfortable. room service is huge bonus, will definitely recommend this place, and we will be back soon. loved that the owners are onsite and hands on...personal touch makes a huge difference

i just had a issue with us staying upstairs, where no kids are allowed, but there was a child, boy about 10 years old, that constantly came upstairs and peep into your room etc, playing on the terrace etc, very annoying

The dinner was amazing!!! We had different dishes for the different nights we spent there and all the dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. Cudos to the chef. The staff is very friendly including the managers, we were received so well and made to feel comfortable. I loved how the staff were always eager to answer our questions about the place and even gave us suggestions on places to visit for sightseeing. They were all so warm, helpful and efficient

The breakfast was a little too dry but the experience was so good, it made up for everything

Good location with a beautiful view for the mountain facing rooms. Very friendly staff and management made us feel right at home. Management made adjustments on short notice to meet our personal needs. We experienced a warmth that was sincere and hart-felt.

The cupboard space in the room is too little. For more than one guest per room, provide at least two of the current cupboards in the room. A luggage bench would have been nice too.

*Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. *Excellent service and food. *Smooth check in and check out. *Safe parking with security on-site. *Spacious, clean and beautiful rooms with heated blankets and heater for winter chills. *We hadto leave before breakfast so staff organized a very nice packed breakfast with goodies for the road. Thank you so much to all the incredible staff who made our stay homely and wonderful!

Everything was excellent nothing we didn't like!

The staff were all very friendly. The views were beautiful. The food was excellent, I had the lamb chops two days in a row because of how good it was. The hotel is located very well right outside the town of Clarens and close to the Golden Gate park as well. I really enjoyed the stay

I didnt realise the hotel didnt have any grounds, like a garden or similar. I was a bit disappointed by that but the facilities were still fine for the purposes of a weekend family break

The food at the restaurant was excellent, choose to eat there at night which was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend the evening restaurant service. Rooms were very well kept and very comfortable.

Room occupant next to us was smoking outside the door which blew back into the room. This had nothing to do with the hotel itself.

The view from the Terrace of the surrounding mountains was excellent. A lovely sunset on the evening of our arrival, comfortable seats in which to share a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down. The two rooms for the family were opposite each other, spacious with most comfortable beds.

Travelling from the UK, some square pinned sockets or USB charging hub would have been great. Round pins no longer used in UK but a mix of them seem to be used in South Africa.

Friendly and very helpful staff. I was there alonr with the kids and they really assisted me in every possible way. I was so pleased that they had put a cot in the room for the baby which made my life easier. The staff also helped myself and my kid with dishing food and drinks. They helped with carrying bags to and from room. Security was good. Didnt feel unsafe at any stage. Amazing view!! And peace and quiet
