We loved our stay at this beautiful Maison in a great location so close to the medieval city and at one end of a street full of fabulous restaurants. Also just a 10 min walk to the Centre of Carcassonne. Rooms are unique and ours was large, tastefully furnished and decorated with a mix of modern and French chic. The Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was continental, lots of choice with lots of home cooked goodies. One large table encourages guests to interact with each other, wherever they are from. Catherine is a lovely host and very accommodating. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation to guests.

Perfect location next to the old bridge between the two cities. Small family run bars and restaurants further along the street were so convenient with friendly patrons. La Maison Vieille is incredible; a beautifully furnished house with large well appointed bedrooms, air conditioned. Comfortable communal lounge and a courtyard garden were real bonuses and allowed us to escape the heat and have a rest in the afternoon. Katherine and her staff were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a kettle, hair dryer, shampoo and body wash in the shower. We would 100% return!

Really nice place to stay. Room was lovely, was quite big it was clean, well maintainedand the bed was huge! Really nice choice for breakfast too. Catherine was very friendly and easy to get in touch with, answering a couple of queries before we arrived and was on hand during our stay also. Location wise you couldn't ask for better being about a five minute walk from the Cite and right next to the footbridge that crosses the river to the newer part of the town. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Carcassonne. Also if your wanting to visit in April make sure you visit nearer the end of the week as we found that quite a few restaurants/bars opened Thursday to Sunday and were closed the other days.

Nothing we had a great time

The house is wonderful and the decor also. The location is perfect as it's only 10' walk from the Citadel and the Castle. The breakfast is to die for! Fresh bread and cakes and puddings and home made creme brulé. The road is full of restaurants, we were spoilt for choice!

The shower is in the bedroom, and even with the screen in front of it, there isn't a lot of privacy. On Saturday night the restaurants and bars had live, loud music, which made it an issue to get some sleep.

Superb room which was enormous. Lovely views across to the castle. Ac was great as was the rain shower. Breakfast was spot on and freshly baked daily. Perfect locati9n between La Cite and the old town. Plenty of eateries within walking distance. As a solo female I felt extremely safe and eating alone didn't feel uncomfortable.

Booking.com only took a credit card to reserve the room. Be aware you have to pay cash or transfer to the hotel so don't bank on using a credit card. Otherwise the accommodation was faultless and like something out of a coffee table book!

Perfect location at end of the old bridge and on a quiet (pedestrian) street with a good choice of bars & restaurants. Only 10 mins walk up to the old city and 15 mins walk to the train station. Our room was massive and the bed was very comfortable. Kettle and fridge in room too. Catherine was very welcoming and the breakfasts were amazing … lots of home made goodies to enjoy! Would definitely return and highly recommend!

Our room was so beautiful and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, as was the entire property and the rest of the house. Breakfast was delicious and always so freshly prepared. The location is perfect, a short 8-10 minute walk from the Chateaux so you’re amongst the beauty without it being too loud. Shops, restaurants and cafes are at your door step. Host was incredibly friendly and welcoming too.

Nothing bad to say, we will be a returning customer.

Fantastic location, walk up to the old cite in 10mins, easy parking close by free, and flat so bringing a bags to Maison very easy Very unremarkable front door, however once main door opened - hallways goes out to breakfast and lounge area and Beautifully presented inner courtyard with huge olive tree and seating. Very large rooms, strong wifi and most req’s catered for. Great breakfast and Marilyn(?) so sorry if I have your name incorrect was very very nice and helpful even though we didn’t speak each others language !!

My only areas for improvement: -To add a clothes drying rack. Our room “Barbacane”had an enormous shower recess that could have had a portable drying rack for our “smalls” washing but none avail even though I asked. -There were a Lot of beautiful decorative items, however the space was taken up with these and very little room to put your bags and toiletries where you needed them.

We were delayed in our arrival, but our host, Catherine, was very accommodating and helpful. Her B&B is beautiful, with a lovely inner courtyard, and the rooms are large and elegant. The breakfast room is lovely and welcoming and the breakfast selections are varied and high quality, with lots of homemade and delicious offerings. The location on rue Trivalle puts you in the center of things, including a variety of excellent restaurants and a short walk to La Cité.

We loved everything about our two night stay at Catherine's and it was a highlight of our bike trip along the Canal du Midi! Catherine also accommodated storing our bikes during our stay.

The location of the hotel was excellent, near the castle, and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, plus air conditioning! Breakfast was great, and staff most attentive.

We had trouble checking in, in that no one answered the doorbell or the phone when we called. We finally sent an email and received a code to get in. I think staff should be on hand at all times during check in period. Also suggest a hand rail going up the 2 flights of stairs should be put in.
