Beautiful room!

Our server, shortish woman with dark hair, would ask us questions and then walk away as we were mid-answer. Not very friendly. Our room was FREEZING all night, wind was howling into the windows to the point that our curtains were flowing with each gust. Made for a long and semi-sleepless night… Bed was very hard and pillows were hard too. There was only one accessible outlet, more would have been great! Last recommendation would be smart TV’s in the rooms :)

The staff were exceptional throughout the hotel.. especially on reception! We were surprised just how comfortable and relaxed the hotel was. Having been to Gairloch many times to see family, of late we ve had to look at staying in hotels and were always reluctant to pick the Gairloch BUT having stayed there would highly recommend it. We didn't have the Breakfast but had Dinner on our first evening. The food was very good!

Not really a complaint as it is an old, beautiful building and but in places could do with a little TLC. This is a very minor point as it is generally in very good order and certainly would not put us off staying again.

The view from the front of the Hotel especially at sunset was stunning. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The food was very good and breakfast choices were excellent and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be using it again.

As the hotel is a bit old, there were some loose floorboards in our room and in the hallway which made a lot of noise when you step on them! The bed mattress was also not the most comfortable which didn't help for a restful sleep. However, since we were only there for 1 night, it was fine.

The location is wonderful. I love traditional Scottish properties & this doesn't disappoint!. Our room had double bay windows with fabulous views over the bay. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Staff are friendly & helpful. Evening meal options were adequate & reasonably priced.

I would prefer that breakfast be offered between 7.30 for the early risers & 10am for others (me) and not 9am! Our bathroom was large with only a small heated towel rail. As such, the bathroom was really cold as temperatures had dropped due to a cold snap. Room facilities should be checked regularly. Our tv didn't work due to no signal The reason given was that a storm had knocked out the tv reception in some rooms

Stayed as part of our NC500 tour. Nice enough hotel. Good reception. All members of staff friendly towards us and our dog. Nice dining room set aside for guests with dogs and a pleasant lounge. Located in an area which saw quite a lot of critical WW2 activity so a visit to the North Atlantic Convoy museum is essential (other museums are available nearby too). On the main road; not too noisy but busy with guests doing the NC500. Quite near a wonderful beach, 15 mins walk, and Gairloch Harbour. Room large and comfortable. Decent shower. Food - ok, nothing special to be honest, decent buffet breakfast.

Parking is a bit of an issue if you come late. Not much they can do about it.

Cheap and cheerful, but doesn't try to be something it isn't. The inside is a bit dated, could do with some modernisation but our room was spotless and comfortable. Beautiful view over the bay, highly recommend the black pearl up the road for dinner!

A bit inconvenient bringing the dogs all the way through the hotel and reception area to take them for their business. This meant trailing through in my pj's before bed, avoiding eye contact with anyone in sight. Other hotels have advised us to use an unalarmed fire exit for this purpose which is a lot more convenient for all.

Impressive looking building overlooking the bay. We bagged ourselves a Seaview room and what a view it was. The room was large, and so was the bed. Nice bathroom with bath and overhead shower. In the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant, the food and service were great and they were very accommodating when I requested gluten-free food. Nothing was too much. They had a local man playing the bagpipes outside early on and a singer inside later. If this isn't your thing then there was a lovely lounge area in the lobby that was so cosy.

Everything was fabulous

This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at! The highlight of our trip was when the great duo stepped on stage in the lounge where the bar is. A man playing bagpipes and another on harmonica were so fun! We ended up dancing all night and got a lesson in Scottish dances! Great facilities, staff friendly and good food we had for dinner and breakfast. We didn't have the time to explore Gairloch but we will be back! Thank you for a great stay and for making our vacation unforgettable.

We had a great room with a sea view. Really appreciate the hotel preserving many of the original features of this historic hotel, which is important to keeping it unique. Others are overly "doing them up".

I'm a bit picky when it comes to rating breakfasts these days. All hotels and guest houses should be promoting, or making very available, vegan or vegetarian alternatives as standard. Its become normal practice and should not prove any more expensive for the venue to provide and then expand this (perhaps cheaper), therefore those hotels not bothering to do this will be scored increasingly downwards until they catch up with current climate, health, caring, personal and cultural realities of our times. Staff around at breakfast were fine though.

Everything was good, no faults. We have a dog and the room was perfectly fine for what you often get for having pets. Bathroom a bit outdated but again perfectly fine. Everything was clean. The room was much cheaper than anywhere else around for miles. We had no issues and a nice enjoyable stay. Location is great. We had dinner both nights and the food was great. The staff were incredibly friendly too, especially at dinner. One night there was a musician which was enjoyable.
