perfect stay for anyone who wants to experience a ryokan. it was well stocked with amenities, and they even provided a yukata to wear for the onsen! we liked that we could use the onsen privately for 30 minutes max. each time. the host was very warm and welcoming. i was really looking forward to seeing mt. fuji from our room but the weather did not permit unfortunately :( wish we could’ve stayed longer because the weather had cleared up the next day!!!
it was quite difficult to locate the property, especially since we arrived at night in the rain. more obvious signs by the main road would have been very helpful!

Mountain view room: This renovated room was exceptional. I had all the tourist spots for photo taking ready to go, but the view was that good I didn’t bother. The bed was comfy, the mini kitchen and bathroom were immaculate and the bonus of having the yukata and kotatsu to use, gave a personal touch. I used one of two Onsen (private if you want-no extra), and it helped relax the muscles ready for the next day. The hosts were fantastic and take pride in what they offer. I had a car so journey-ing to other places was easy, but I did see some bus stops not far. They had plenty of people staying (I only saw their shoes) so it’s a great place for any amount of time to stay.

+ The host is very generous. He picked me up from the train station and dropped me off on the last day. As I went alone with medium size luggage, this is very helpful , instead of rushing through the public bus (which is mostly crowded with tourists) + Very good facilities - I rented a bike (only normal one is available) to travel around from the ryokan to Kawaguchiko and the view is very stunning. + Onsen , the room with Mt. Fuji view are spacious. Most of the time, it's quiet and the guests are respectful. There are a few restaurants nearby but Familymart is around 15 -20 mins walk (note uphill on the way back)

Highly recommended! We stayed at this lovely Ryokan that is run by a lovely couple. Our room has ensuite bathroom and looks newly renovated, with a good view of Mount Fuji from our balcony on clear days. My photos don't represent the place well because of our mess, so sorry. You can do simple cooking with a induction stove, and a microwave/oven, fridge, and a sink. We drove, and its central location between Lake Kawaguchi and Yamanaka works for us. It is also near Forest Adventure Fuji. Most importantly, they have 2 X private Ryokan of differing sizes, which allowed us to have a soak as a family :)

Amano san and her husband were very welcoming. They picked us up from the train station and drop us off without any extra charge. The property was extremely clean and inviting. We used the onsen and it was a relaxing experience which we recommend (you are allowed to use it privately for up to 30 minutes). The dinner and breakfast were delicious and added to the experience. The ryokan was located a 30-minute walk from Oshino Hakkai, a whimsical little town worth a pit stop. The room was cosy and the futon beds were surprisingly comfortable. Our room had a view to mount Fuji (we were just unfortunate with the foggy weather which blocked the mount for part of our stay). All in all, this was one of the highlights of our trip!
There wasn’t much we didn’t like. The location is a bit hard to access (but since they provide a free ride this wasn’t really a problem). There was some wear and tear but it didn’t really bother us or impact our stay.

The hosts were lovely and helpful. I just climbed Fuji so my whole body was sore but I had the most comfortable sleep on my very first futon ever! Despite being fully-booked, it was very serene, I even got the whole onsen for myself; there are two types: Jacuzzi and bath-type onsen. As everyone has mentioned, the room has clear view to Mt Fuji, but in the bedroom itself there are lounge area where you can make your own ocha. They even have a binder of pamphlet/magazine/posters collection full of information on local touristy, cultural, activities, and culinary hotspots. The Japanese breakfast was also very delicious, and the host drives me to the station after check-out. Definitely recommending this place to everyone!
I wish I could stay longer but my schedule wouldn't let me.

The highlights of our stay were the meals, onsen, and value for money. We originally only requested breakfast, as the host, in their initial message, said that dinners were only available on the weekend. However, they were more than happy to make an exception and we got to enjoy dinner as well! Both meals were kaiseki-style, uniquely with a more homey quality compared to more upscale ryokans with juices, teas, coffes, and more on the side for no additional cost. Our hosts were very courteous and attentive to our needs. They took the time to explain all the features of our very spacious, tatami-style rooms, as well as all the dishes in our meals. The onsens were very relaxing and private to individual parties. Since we were the only guests that night, we were able to go multiple times and stay as long as wanted. Our rooms were spacious with tatami mats and a decent view of Mt. Fuji, which we unfortunately missed due to the weather. Overall, our per-person all-in cost was equivalent to what we would've paid for one night in a small hotel room in Tokyo - excellent value for money. Do not skip this place! It might be further away from downtown Kawaguchi-ko, but the hospitality, food, serenity, and value cannot be matched anywhere else in the area.
It is further away from downtown Kawaguchi-ko than most other ryokans, and will require a vehicle to get to. We drove, but the host does drive guests to and from Kawaguchi-ko Station, provided you give them a call.

This was honestly such a hidden gem with an amazing view. A bit far from the station but that really wasn’t an issue as the hosts offer pick up and drop off from the station (she even helped sort out lockers and drove us to a nearby temple as it was along her way , thanks!). The apartment we stayed in was newly constructed and was impeccably clean. The view was to die for, and it was at an affordable price point. Breakfast that we paid extra for the next morning was also really delicious. Sad to give this secret up , but this truly was an amazing place that deserves the praise !

Such a kind and heartwarming host, if you're looking to stay in a traditional Ryokan. I highly recommend this place to be your first, especially if you're on a budget. I loved every single moment here. They offer free transfer service as well, but I would recommend getting a car or a bike as well. However, the bus stop is nearby. Finally seeing the views of Fuji from window was just spectacular, they also have a jacuzzi/onsen as well, so if you have tattoos; you have nothing to worry about. To The family that hosted me and took great care off me, thank you for making my Japan trip so special and I hope to see you again ❤️

Lovely family runs ryokan that provides a homely atmosphere. The futons were soft and comfortable. We were a big family travelling together all of us agreed that the rooms were cosy and spacious with plenty of sunlight flooding in. On top of that was we were able to see the stunning view of the Fuji mountain from our rooms. Love the traditional onsens, not one but two. Great location and the Fuji 5 lakes nearby. We initially lost our way to get there, but thanks to the friendly hosts who went outside to meet us.
