The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming - Nothing was too much trouble. We booked the hotel based on it having a swimming pool, which we used several times. It was clean, with shower and changing facilities and the children had a wonderful time playing in the pool. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a modern walk in shower. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of continental and cooked options. We had a short but lovely stay and would definitely visit again if in the area.

There wasn't a great deal of choice for dining out near the hotel, and you would need a car to go exploring. Not a problem for us though.

The staff were really friendly and helpful which made our stay so much more enjoyable! We didn't get to eat at the hotel as they did not serve food on Christmas Eve (which was on a Sunday so this may have been the reason for no restaurant). The breakfast on Christmas morning however was great. We had booked two rooms, both were a great size, had very large beds, were clean and well equipped. The hotel was warm and comfortable. Brilliant to have a swimming pool which had long opening times.

The beds were huge but one of them was lumpy. Both had very clean bedding and covers although the bedding felt 'crispy' and crunched when you moved.

Having booked this hotel back in January we were excited to stay here so we could attend a friends wedding on Saturday. Like most weddings they are usually before your allotted checkin times. We did enquire before hand for a possible early check in and was told if it’s possible and room could be ready then they would do what they can. We arrived around 1230 to meet some friends and was told on arrival that the room was not ready. However within half and hr the lady on reception found us and told us that our room was available and we could check in. This was excellent news which allowed us to drop our luggage and freshen up before departing for the wedding. Thank you.

While we waiting we were told that the bar didn’t open until 3pm, and we could get a drink across the road. The half moon. Having walked over we found that this bar/pub was closed completely. Oh well Coffee it was then.

The building had a bit of history and plenty of parking and free electric charging point! The staff were really lovely and the swimming pool was the reason why we chose this hotel. Dinner in the evening was very good and reasonably priced.

It would be nice if the sauna was switched on first thing as hotel guests are generally out during the day.

Staff were very helpful. Rooms are quite old so temp control in room was little difficult. We had to open the window to cool room down as radiator had been on full. However, didn't affect experience. Good room to have with little grandkids. Pool was great with the kids in the morning. Breakfast was good. Overall Very good experience.

I enjoyed my meal in the restaurant. We were only staying one night, so didnt get much chance to experience more, but the cod goujons were very tasty.

The biggest issue was that I hadn't taken in when booking that there is no lift. Thankfully although a bit of a struggle, we managed with our large suitcases. We were offered help if needed though.

The breakfast was really yummy and big. The room was a perfect size, really cosy and secluded! We didn't have dinner but i bet it would be amazing! We went in the pool for a swim in the evening and it was the perfect temperature and it was really relaxing before bed and staff were really kind and gave us what we need so thank you very much for that!

The room was clean and lovely and the pool and restaurant was really good but the lady that served us dinner and breakfast made our visit she was so lovely and friendly and really kind towards my daughter i didnt get her name but she had short dark hair and told me she had 11 grandkids... but i would love to thank her she was so lovely a credit to the hotel.

The bar was overcrowded - due to the arrival of a special (charity) group The same applied to the swimming pool BUT OVERALL, NO PROBLEMS GIVEN THE SPECIAL NATURE OF THE VISITING GROUP. (perhaps there could be a notice or handout explaining the situation. People like us could feel to be more involved?)

Before our stay, we requested a quiet room, and the hotel wrote back to confirm that our request had been granted. The room was, indeed, exceptionally quiet. We also found on arrival that, as it was a hot afternoon, a fan had been turned on and the window opened. The room itself was large and well appointed, and the bed was king-size and comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean.
