Superb location. Firstly, a taxi from the station can deliver you/pick you up right to the door, which opens onto a piazza outside a major landmark - St Catherine/ San Domenico. This means it's also easy to get yourself back home after walking around the twisty streets of the town, as San Domenico is signed at many corners. The wonderful (rare!) large flowery terrace overlooks the square, just wonderful for sitting out people watching/catching some sun or breeze. You can see right across the green ravine to the Duomo and walk in a few minutes to the Medici park. Siena can be pretty crowded and tightly packed, so this sense of space and greenery is wonderful. There's plenty of cafes/eateries/shops within a few steps. I love having a kettle in the room, and the bed was very comfortable. Staff are very clear about their available times and leaving luggage etc.. so if you follow this, you'll have no problems with check in and out. They kindly called me a cab - I found the family helpful and kind.

Do be aware of steps going up and down from room to terrace. But Siena is a giant trip hazard anyway so be careful everywhere :)

Great location close to free parking outside the center, but also a quick walk to the center. The rooms had lovely antiques, were clean, and comfortable. Check in and out was easy.

The only thing we had to complain about was something I see in a few other comments. It would appear our room was the only one that did not have access to the terrace, which was not mentioned in the booking. If there was a way to get to the terrace, we could not figure it out. We deliberately look for places with outdoor spaces, so we can play a late game or two of cards outside. If we had known our room did not connect to the terrace we would have chosen another room. We loved our room and our experience at Casalbergo, but just believe this should have been clear.

Fabulous location a short walk from the bus station on one side and Piazza del Campo on the other side. Restaurants, bars, markets all around. Family-run, personable owner there for a few hours daily. Tall ceilings, very spacious rooms and bathroom. Loved this place

Friday and Saturday night street noise but easily solved with a white noise sound from our phone. Only affects room 1, other rooms were away from street

The location and character of this small hotel is perfect for my needs. Close to the edge of the old town, had better options for yummy food at less touristy prices. The terrace is great with a sweet view of the church (though my stay was a little rainy is didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I wanted to) An amazing view of the Duomo is across the road. The room was quite spacious and clean with a little kettle to make tea.

I was really happy there. A quick warning for late sleepers than I, the church bells will get you up around 7.30 to start your amazing stay in Siena. But do t worry, good espresso is close by.

Excellent location just opposite San Domenico basilica bus-stop (we arrived from Arezzo by bus). Ample rooms, and owners were helpful. Plentiful hot water for showering, and good wi-fi. My umbrella seemed to be broken and I left it open in the room, intending to throw it away. When we returned to the hotel the umbrella had miraculously been fixed! That's what I call good service.

No breakfast (though there are cafes within walking distance). Some of the furniture is a bit dated - for example we found it hard to open the wardrobe doors as they kept sticking.

We loved the size of our room, it was very spacious and airy. Great to have the use of the rooftop terrace too. Good facilities with fridge, kettle provided. Easy to walk to bus station and good taxi access to the front door of the property.

Didn’t really feel comfortable leaving our luggage at the desk as there was no real reception area or a sense of it being a hotel. It felt like we had a room off an open hallway. There was also no heat in our room or hot water in the shower neither morning nor at night, just warm water and the shower head didn’t work properly. We were cold in the room with no heat on a cold rainy day although the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Loved our stay here. The rooms were large and very clean and we used the terrace most days. There were lots of extras and the owner was very helpful and responsive.

Excellent quiet place. Very very clean room. Pretty big, that was very nice - you feel comfortable, have space for your things and to turn around, and not tight or narrow as it can be at other places. The bed is double, big. The linens are clean. The location is excellent. In the old city, but close to buses stations, if you need. The place is beautiful. Strongly recommended :)

The only thing was that in the shower, the upper shower head had a bit weak stream. (There was lower handle too, and that one was okay). And the water temperature in a shower was a little bit unstable - it was hot and good enough, of course, but was fluctuating during the showering. :) Otherwise everything was excellent, and I would have probably stayed there again, if I needed.

The room was in an excellent location opposite the Basilica of Siena, from where we could admire a fantastic view of the old city. There were good food options nearby with a really café right next door for a cheap and very good breakfast. It was quiet at night, yet only a ten minute walk up hill to where all the main streets and shops, then not much further to the fabulous monuments and buildings. Plus there is no traffic throughout the old streets, which is great. The room was nicely decorated, with a bonus terrace with plenty of seating and tables, the bed bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The bed was made daily and the towels were changed for fresh towels.

The instructions to find the accommodation were not very good. Entry to the old city is confusing with one-way streets and 'no-go' areas - clearer information would be very helpful.
