Location - This hotel is situated on top of a hill so you get great views, there is also a ski cafe restaurant 3 min walk away which is handy (as the hotel only offers breakfast and dinner, I imagine because most excursions include lunch so no need) It is also a 2 min walk away from the start of Europe's longest toboggan run (1.5km) The hotel provides sleds so you do not need to hire one. Room - We chose to stay in a cabin that had a private sauna attached to our bathroom, this was fantastic as it was used daily, only took 20-30 mins to heat up and you can hop in the shower straight away. The room was warm, large floor to ceilings windows and a tv that you can connect your phone to to play netflix, spotify, etc 20 min ride from the airport, we booked a taxi directly online (€60 each way) The breakfast is Finnish continental, think fruit, savoury salad options, cereal, bread, etc - The had some hot food like hashbrown/ potato type thing and eggs, bacon and sausages but nothing wet or saucy like beans. A real variety, different to other countries but there is something you can eat (read reviews of people complaining about the breakfast beforehand, its good just not US/UK type breakfast) Booking excursions directly with the hotel was the right thing to do, easy and all activities start at the hotel (or you are transported from the hotel to the activity start point) Excursions we did: Reindeer sleigh - Magical, get to feed and pet reindeer, lots of photo ops, learn about reindeer etc. Sleigh ride is good fun, magical and romantic for couples ! Snowmobiles - If you can afford the extra €40pp to get your own snowmobile (like we did) I'd highly recommend, very fun.

Nothing ! This is a magical, beautiful trip. Very different to any city break or beach holiday You feel as if you're in a winter wonderland Just be comfortable that it is a expensive weekend but once in a lifetime

The room was very nice. The Aurora Hut windows were amazing. And even though it was cloudy and we didn't see the northern lights, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly. It snowed a ton our last night, and we had to leave early to get to the airport. Luckily, the snowplows were there quickly to clear the roads so we could leave.

There is a big tower near the ski resort with blinking red lights in front of the aurora cabins that was kind of distracting. There were also a lot of cars that drove by and their lights shone in the windows.

Amazing room, with stunning view. Nice team and good breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect for sunsets, Wintersport and Aurora hunting. The team was very friendly and kind.

Only very little things: the price for some rentals is a little bit high, for example you pay for a slay that is not really working, it is incredibly slow (we needed to walk down the hill). Or you need to pay the double price for the snow shoes. But however it is understandable, since the room price is quite good. The restaurant was really excellent one evening and disappointing the other evening. But it might be because it was the last evening of the season...however the first dinner was amazing.

The location is fantastic. The staff are very nice, helpful and friendly. The aurora rooms were truly fantastic. The hotel staff operating the hotel taxi were especially helpful and nice. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped the usual amenities. The hero is obviously the snow and the views. The breakfast spread was great and set us up for full day of adventures. We would definitely come back to this hotel!

We'd have liked the reception staff to not discourage us from exploring Santa Claus village. They were also not attentive in writing down our departure time thereby delaying our airport-taxi, however, they called a new taxi quickly which we highly appreciated. The restaurant didn't have any/many international dishes in the a la carte menu. The heating in the room is very confusing and the written instructions are quite useless. Other than these few points, it's an amazing place to stay

One of the best hotels I have come across in Europe. I was expecting it to be average given its remote location. But it is very luxurious and comfortable. Excellent service. Very helpful staff. Great rooms! And great breakfast. Strongly recommend.

On our first night in the glass cabin, there was a light from their parking area which was reflecting on our glass - thus affecting our ability to see out in the dark. However, the hotel offered to move us to another cabin and extended our stay in the cabin for an additional night for free (we had a non-cabin room booked for the second night). So overall, we were very happy.

Having a sauna and kitchenette in the room was great. Staff at the reception etc. were extremely helpful. The location insured that we get a breathtaking view, even though we weren't lucky with the dates to catch the northern lights. It was convenient that activities such as husky sleigh ride are offered by the hotel (and I do recommend this particular activity).

The mattresses were extremely lumpy (we weren't the only ones with this complaint: I overheard some people in the lobby requesting a mattress change). The lighting in the room was a bit on the dark side. When we had dinner, restaurant staff were not very attentive and slow. I felt the airport shuttle was a bit overpriced.

Out of everything I loved here, the service was the utmost. If the room is ready, the staff allows early check-in. Especially since we had a long flight hours, early check-in was like the best hospitality. Several staff members in the lobby are all kind and understanding. Breakfast was pretty luxurious even though it only ran 8-10, which made us unable to catch up one day because of the early flight. The water was strong, the sauna was fabulous, and the kitchen was cozy but had everything we needed.

We liked everything. However, my friends who stayed in the same room type as us had a slightly more outdated bathroom and sauna. Perhaps some rooms were built earlier or later than others.

The property is located in top of Kaunispaa fell far from light pollution and is a perfect spot of aurora enthusiast. Staff were excellent and would help us anytime to make our stay pleasant. Saariselka is a small place and Star Arctic is a perfect choice to spend some quiet time. Inari is an hour away and is an easy drive. They arrange good reindeer farm experience and had an excellent breakfast spread.

We need to have a car to move around if you are staying at this hotel.

Booked 3 scenic view rooms. Great location for northern lights. Could see the dancing lights from our balcony ( not from within the room as the windows frosted up ) Breakfast with a view. Short distance to the sledding slopes ( which was unforunti not open) which is a great spot for aurora viewing.

Very cold with the constant wind blowing. Got frost bites in seconds. Car cannot be parked just outside the house. Car iced up in the parking lot overnight Rooms are a bit small.
