We saw some other places and this one definitely was far the best from our opinion. Deep in the forest, where you will have a great opportunity to see the northern lights. Houses are not too close to each, so you'll have your privacy. Free Aurora alert is a great addition (ask on reception). The restaurant was a fine dining experience. We liked the sauna, fire in the restaurant, people on reception, reindeers in the park - literally everything 😃

Just an amazing place to discover the beauty of Lapland! The property is surrounded by nature, and you can experience a true Winter Wonderland walking through the woods. The property organizes daily activities like chasing northern lights, feeding reindeers, ice fishing, snowmobile and many others. Two saunas are also available and everything is easily bookable, and they also offer some equipment for free (skis, winter suits, boots, slates etc.) The on-site restaurants offers a high-quality daily menu with three courses for dinner, included with the half board, and gluten-free options are available and safe together with other dietary restrictions, as the staff was well aware. Shuttle service is great to easily reach the property, and Ivalo is a 30 mins walk away. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the igloos are super cozy. Reindeers are a great plus, just out of your door! You can experience the northern lights if the sky is clear and there is activity.
The cost of each activity is considered per person, which sometimes can become a bit too expensive (e.g. private sauna in Helsinki was just 10 euros per person compared to 50 euros) - but prices are transparent and available both at the reception and on their website, so you can check in advance.

Beautiful, clean cabins that were just the right size, had a coffee/tea machine, fridge, good heating and were very private. The grounds of the resort were beautiful and we really enjoyed walking the trails. Winter outerwear provided which was fantastically warm and great for those travelling without heavy duty winter clothing. Activities were fairly reasonably priced considering - highly recommend the panoramic sauna and outdoor spa. Cosy restaurant with fire place, tea/coffee available all day, and wonderful included meals. Breakfast was varied and fresh, and dinners were 3 course and delicious. Service was lovely and overall we highly recommend Aurora village. By far the best of all the cabins/igloos I researched.
Paid Aurora alerts - seemingly free for every other location we searched! We also sadly had terrible weather for our entire stay - but not the fault of the resort at all!!

6/5 Stars: An Unforgettable Experience at Aurora Village Ivalo My partner and I just returned from the most incredible adventure at Aurora Village Ivalo, and we're still pinching ourselves. This family-run establishment, led by the visionary Juha Tuunanen, exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were part of the family. Juha's passion for creating a private and customer-centric experience shone through in every aspect of our stay. He took us on a breathtaking walk on a frozen lake, sharing his expertise on measuring ice depth for snowmobile adventures. His son, Veeti, led us on an unforgettable Aurora Chase, setting up a romantic fire by the river and capturing stunning photos of the Northern Lights for us. Juha's daughter, Minja, was the heart of the gastronomical experience, ensuring every guest felt pampered. The culinary journey was exceptional, thanks to Chef Janne's exquisite dishes and desserts. His stories of Finnish resilience and warmth only added to the charm. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a Husky Wagon Ride, organized by the hotel, which was a thrilling experience with baby Huskies snuggled up in our laps by the fire and larger dogs pulling us through the snowy forests in -15°C temperatures. The Aurora Cabins were perfect, and we were lucky enough to witness the breathtaking Northern Lights from our cabin on 4 out of 6 nights. The Reindeer Feeding experience was a highlight, feeling like we discovered our spirit animals. We also enjoyed the Panoramic Sauna & the Jacuzzi experience in the negative tenperatures. The Jacuzzi located outside offered a view of the open sky & the forest in the backdrop & it truly felt like we were soaking in a pool of warmth amidst the winter wonderland. What sets Aurora Village Ivalo apart is the genuine love and care that the Tuunanen family pours into every aspect of the experience.

What we liked the most about this hotel was the staff. The people working there were helpful and friendly. I would like to give special thanks to Marcus for making feeding the reindeers and the snowmobile tour much more fun than it could have been. By the way, I couldn't imagine that a snowmobile tour could be so amazing. I would definitely do it again. We are sincerely grateful for the professional and warm service in the restaurant. Dovile gave us a lot of useful advice and told us many interesting things about the hotel and Ivalo. I need to point out that the food in the restaurant is absolutely amazing. I have to admit that this part of our vacation exceeded our expectations for sure. I recommend booking the activities you want before your arrival. We were not able to book the husky safaris because everything was already booked. Fortunately, the staff gave us some contacts, and we booked this activity ourselves at another farm. But just to simplify things, it's better to take care of it in advance. One very useful thing was that the hotel provides really warm outdoor clothes and shoes for free. They sincerely take care of their guests :) That is why we really liked there, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

quiet area, well maintained and cosy cabins. Privet traditional finish sauna you can rent (I did, I can definitely recommend it) Very helpful staff member (Katarina) I was off peak season that is why restaurant was only for breakfast. but I had clear information before booking so this is good. Unfortunately there was no option to rent eBike but Katarina helped me to find and rent. Suggestion maybe instead of complementary drink at arrival repellent for mosquitos would be useful :)
Bear in mind that Aurora village is quite far from city, you get there by gravel road. I had car so no problem, but if you are without car (in Aurora there are bicycles available for guest) and when it is raining it can be demanding.

We love everything about Aurora Village! Beautiful property and cozy cabin. We couldn’t see aurora, but we enjoyed looking stars while lying down on the bed. A lady at reception was very helpful for finding activities to attend for us, she also arranged take away breakfast for our early checking-out. There is a forest path on the property. It was like walking a winter wonderland!! It’s a very quiet and peaceful place. I highly recommend anyone who is planning to go to Lapland.
Nothing! Really we love this place!!

1- incredible cabin with a nice view . 2- helpful staff arrange an activity schedule. 3- 5 star meals and food
1- ask for a near cabin to the reception while booking so you no need to walk too much. 2- easy light weight badge since your the one Who will carry 3- difficult communication between your cabin and the reception if you need any thing you must call by your mobile or send an email. 4- the heater adjust from the reception . 5- there is no slipper in the cabin you must ask or bring your own
