So many special touches-keeping the front door locked, the chaise in the room, the detail to all the different things thought of for the rooms, the quality was clear, the down pillows. Even though it was modern and very sleek, the warmth that you felt being there. The design of the business center the uniqueness of separate sections, the water refill stations throughout, fantastic breakfast and then this there’s the staff just amazing. Obviously what there was a lot of thought put into building this I would stay there every single time I went to Oakland that area the recommendations for nice restaurants nearby. And of course the price point was fair… really can’t say enough! One of the staff, Patricia, from the cleaning team was simply amazing! I couldn’t find my phone, and she found it by digging through a trashcan and finding it for me! apparently I accidentally threw it away she found it!… Above and beyond….she saved me, I can’t thank her enough and I am so appreciative!! I , thank you thank you Patricia!!

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like… when I’m in that area this is now my hotel of choice!

Staff were super helpful, the interior of the hotel and room were very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and my room was quiet with a very nice bed. The business center was useful and it was great to have an included breakfast. Oh and the gym is small but nice.

The neighborhood is not that great, especially late at night, and paid parking was a bit expensive (though the valet service with unlimited ins and outs was great). Good for business travelers and adults, maybe not great for families with children or very young adults who are not street saavy.

The interior design of the hotel was beautiful! It was an awesome experience! I will say that there wasn't a City view but everything else made up for that!! Good breakfast bar was on another level! All around the experience was so nice and the location is great if you want to walk around and explore maybe get you some food maybe some boba! There's a convenience store very close to the location! Really nice

Location: this is not the fault of the hotel. It’s just downtown Oakland. Lots of homeless people outside . There are hardly any incidents that I know of. Just a bit sketchy and felt unsafe. BUT, it was generally ok. And they don’t bother you.

Love that the location is very convenient, especially if you don’t have a car … about 5 minutes walk from the Bart station, less if you’re a speedy walker. Also love the free breakfast … make your own waffle station, toast station, cereal station with almond milk for those needing alternative milks, oatmeal, yogurt, lots of fruit. Plenty of restaurants around the area too, and there’s a microwave and fridge in the room for any leftovers, although be careful with the fridge as ours was a bit on the warm side. Front desk staff are hit or miss … some were awesome and absolutely fabulous, others wouldn’t give you the time of day. Not a big deal, we just waited till it was a different person at the front desk to help with resolving an issue. Housekeeping is upon request, or if you just need supplies for the room then you can just pick it up from the front desk.

My friend’s bed was perfect for her, mine was overly soft. Something to keep in mind if you like a firmer bed. Also, if you have a car it’s valet only.

The property was close to everything we needed. It was easy for uber drivers to find and pull up right in the front.

Even though the inside of the hotel is pet friendly, there was nowhere for my pet to safely use the bathroom. There are two back alley ways that people can stand and smoke in; very uncomfortable and weird.

I always have a great experience staying at Hampton Inn. I chose this location because it is close to Jack London Amtrak station. The staff was super awesome! Tanya promptly found me available room for a no-fuss early check-in. So thankful to Juliana for sorting out my check-in problem too. I look forward to returning and staying here before I fly back to my country. + Waffle for breakfast :) + Close proximity to BART station from and to SFO

The amenities were abundant from a snack shop by the front lobby to a hearty breakfast the next morning. Didn’t expect anything except breakfast included in our reservation but I was impressed. A very nice, quick stay. We had a nice city view as well which was noted in our reservation, not disappointed by the view!

This isn’t a con more than a personal preference because I liked the valet service for parking only but I should have asked about hours in advance because the garage locks at midnight. We just Ubered instead and our car/belongs were safe so that was the best anyway!

Absolutely quiet (Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, 4th floor). Room was well appointed with large TV, desk, two chairs, USB charging ports, and large bathroom (with a night light). No closet, just hooks on the wall. All very modern and clean. Valet parking was extra but street parking would have been possible. Full breakfast included cereals, waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage.

Wifi did not work at all. After using the password the system asked for TOO MUCH personal information for a free/included service. I did not give my name, address, phone #, and e-mail. So no surprise it didn’t work. But, in the morning the wifi signal on my device and in settings showed I was connected. And yet, not a single webpage would load.

It was nicer than I thought! Everything was updated and clean. The breakfast was pretty good especially their omelets. The staff was super nice (Two asian girls) who were very welcoming. The rooms were very well cleaned when we checked in. The area wasn't as sketchy as I thought it would be so that was a plus.

The pillows were very light and they do not have public parking. We ended up doing valet overnight which is $40 but you can not retrieve your car from 1230am-6am.
