Super clean hostel with brilliant breakfast and great staff. This place is so clean, staff seem to constantly be cleaning common areas. Beds are very comfy with super thick mattress and in 4 bed dorm have private curtains on each bed, private electric socket and lamp. Beautiful gardens and really good breakfast included. Location is also great with many things in walking distance to the hostel.

More bathrooms would be ideal. The option for same sex dorms would be preferable as I was woken by a guy pleasuring himself! I know thats not the hostels fault, but I would've preferred female only dorm.

it’s very charming , and the staff is friendly.

the room In the picture on booking.com was different than the room I was given. The room pictured had high ceilings and the room I was given did not. I paid extra money to have a nice private room and I wanted the exact room pictured. The hotel and Booking.com should make sure the room photos are accurate.

Stayed in a 4-person dorm and the beds were super comfortable and the privacy curtains did their job. The place has two courtyards, the 4-person dorms are in the lower floor in the back and share a courtyard with the private rooms which are located on the upper floor and the ground floor as well. The front courtyard has access to the 8-person dorm which also is where the main entrance and coffee/bar is located. Both courtyards are gorgeous and the grounds are well kept with beautiful purple flower petals laying on the ground in the rear courtyard. I found the Wi-Fi to be really good and I was able to get a lot of work done since the place is really quiet and peaceful. The breakfast that comes with the dorm stay is incredible! I didn't try the pancakes but I loved the muesli and the eggs with tomato/onions and beans on the side. Everything was fresh and freshly made. The bathrooms were super nice, well-designed, and very clean (I am a stickler for bathrooms). I couldn't be happier with my dorm stay here!

They only have 2 bathrooms with showers that are shared by 3 4-person dorms and the 8-person dorm. It is technically enough, but in the mornings you have to wait in line to take a shower. It is a very minimal issue, but of course having 1-2 showers would easily solve this problem although I know it can be hard to add plumbing to these older infrastructures.

Overall I had a great experience at Ojala. The location was very central, breakfast was delicious, the property extremely well kept and maintained. I worked remotely while I was there and had excellent wifi the entire time. Sleeping in might be tricky here as breakfast starts being served at 7am and I found that the main areas (just outside the rooms) start to get a tad noisy shortly after that. Noise ends pretty early at night around 10/11pm which I was grateful for as I've had bad experiences with music in other hostels. Id recommend it especially for the wifi and free breakfast.

I have never been in a hostel were housekeeping weee so thorough and attentive. Dorm room beds made everyday and clothes folded. Bathrooms and facilities clean at all times. Decor is beautiful, nice chill areas in x2 courtyards. Location is central and perfect to everywhere you will need in beautiful Antigua.

Not very social, however this is not the hostels fault and I did choose this hostel consciously so that it was not a party hostel. More like a hotel with various private options and a dorm which seems to be common in Guatemala.

Great hostel to stay in if looking to experience a bit more of a party vibe in San Juan del Sur, very social hostel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities organised by the hostel that you can sign up for including surfing and beach party. Location is great - a short walk to the town. I would say that the rooms are very basic and there aren't a massive amount of facilities, for example there are no cooking facilities, but the hostel do decent food themselves. Water pressure in the shower could have been better too, but given the price point I think you do get decent value for money here. I really enjoyed my stay so would recommend.

We had an incredible stay at Hostel Ojalá in Antigua—one of the best hostels we've ever experienced! The place is beautiful, well-maintained, and very clean. As three friends, we stayed in a cozy 4-bed dorm, and it was perfect for us. The bathrooms are separate, but you can use the entire bathroom for yourself, which is awesome, and the shower was great! The garden was lush and green, with nice spaces to sit and do some laptop work. The included breakfast was fantastic, with a selection of three options, all great for a hostel breakfast. The hostel also offers free water and good Wi-Fi. During the low season, the vibe was very chill—perfect for relaxing but maybe not the best place to meet new people and party. If you're looking for a relaxed and cozy time in Antigua, this is your place! Really, one of my favorite hostels ever. Highly recommend!

All awesome!

superb location in Antigua Old Town, just between the Central Square and the Market place / chicken bus station in a quiet street with less traffic.. The 8 bed dormitory was spacious with a high ceiling, had privacy curtains for each of the really comfy bunk beds, and 2 clean bathrooms with shower/WC, a sink and a ventilator. For me the best hostel experience since a very long time! Breakfast was included and one could chose between 3 options, I tried 2 of them and both were extremely yummy (pancakes and the homemade muesli)! Filter coffee is included, if you want any specialty coffee you can order it from the bar. Otherwise there are plenty of eating options either in the same street, on the way to the Market (recommend Taquiza, my favourite Taquería) or in the market itself (head to Frutilandia for local dishes).

towels were charged an extra GTQ 5 for dormitory guests

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The two courtyards are interesting and secluded with lots of seating and beautiful plants.

You need to make sure if you want an en suite bathroom that you book this as a lot of the rooms have a shared bathroom. The shared bathrooms are kept very clean and the shower is a good pressure and there is good hot water it is just that sometimes the two shared bathrooms near our room were occupied and some people spend quite a long time in them.

Courtyards are lovely, private room with bathroom was small but nice. Staff were friendly and breakfast was yummy. Centrally located to the arch and restaurants. Excellent shower pressure and hot water which was welcomed after the volcano hike!

This is more of a hotel than hostel as no shared kitchen facility and guests sort of just keep to themselves. It was quite expensive however I think that’s because we stayed over Christmas time.
