Truly a lovely stay as I sincerely cannot say enough wonderful things about my time at this elegant boutique hotel.I travel quite often and rarely write reviews because I do not like to leave bad ones. It was an absolute pleasure to leave this review. I loved the UWS location....I'm very fond of this area of the city and think it is one of the best spots to stay. The 76th street location is quiet and the area is chic and sophisticated. Traveled for a one week stay to visit my family and celebrate my birthday, and upon arrival was upgraded to a deluxe queen suite--very swanky. Thank you front desk..you were very gracious and kind. The room was huge and very chic. The living room with fireplace was classy and elegant & decorated very well. The room was huge by NYC standards. What I noticed upon arrival to the hotel and to my room was how wonderful the place smelled. Lighting and HVAC were great and easy to operate. Best part was the electronic shades....you just hit the lights out button & everything goes dark...Loved it! The bedroom was superb and the view was outstanding....reveled in how soft the bed and bedding were and how modern and large the bathroom was. Shower was incredible, a nice touch to ending a busy NYC day. Room was always cleaned spotless and housekeeping was very attentive. Please tip them as they work very hard. The closet was great as was the wardrobe rack in the bedroom...asked for more hangers and in 5 min they were delivered. Loved the room being a corner suite as the light was amazing, especially during the golden hours of the city...12th floor had wonderful views. Best part was the jazz bar downstairs...it was very toney..just that quintessential NYC lounge atmosphere and loved the gas fireplace in the lounge. Lots of good energy from the staff! Absolutely loved this boutique hotel and cannot wait to return!!! A 5 star property. Understated and elegant. An exceptional property as the word marvelous comes to mind!!

The room and hotel were immaculate and comfortable. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

I think our issue might be with Booking.com that promised a city view. We had a typical Booking.com view of the interior courtyard where the buildings all face one another and the garbage cans are stored. There was definitely no “City view” which was very disappointing. I feel like Booking.com does a bit of bait and switch with some of their promises and I am ready to book on my own after being burnt several times by this company.

Beautiful hotel, clean comfortable and stylish. Very quiet at night. Perfect location for us. Staff were ultra courteous and helpful. We paid for a standard queen room but were upgraded to a one-bedroom queen suite which we were delighted about.

The lack of any sort of restaurant is a great shame, and it’s surprising that a hotel of this calibre doesn’t have any facilities for serving breakfast or even coffee in the beautiful lounge every day. I feel that the lounge has so much potential and it seems underused.

Staff were cheerful, friendly and welcoming. Location is pleasant and convenient enough. The room is large enough and clean. The in room snacks were much appreciated for those midnight peckish moments.

Although there was 2 of us, they provided slippers and robe for only 1 person. We didn’t feel the need for more so didn’t request but it was not in keeping with expectations. It was noisy at all hours, we suspect other guests walking heavily rather than the location of the room. The room could also do with a comfortable chair! Lights were tricky to operate so a guide would be helpful.

Very friendly staff (from doorman, front desk, host of the attached lounge, to the janitor, everyone kind and very service oriented - thank you), lovely room, fantastic seated outdoor balcony (2 seats) as part of the room with great views across the Hudson and Upper East Side. Very hip piano lounge bar on ground floor with mixed crowd (young and older). Some great restaurants in the vicinity and of course easy access to the various theaters in the vicinity. There is no room service menu, however, you *can* order food and drinks from the lounge bar and the front desk will then have it sent up - billing was part of my room.

Although there is a refrigerator in the room, it's only stocked with a couple of bottles of water - which may be intentional to drive you to the lounge - which is probably fine - as it's worth checking out - but something to be aware of. Secondly, again, although one can order delivery to the room from the bar on the first floor - this did not operate for breakfast (on a Saturday anyway!). However - a little DoorDash or Uber Eats and 20 / 30 minutes later and you have food from world at your room's door. (There was a Nespresso machine, so we did not feel like aliens from another planet unable to wake up).

The hotel was amazing and the staff were so friendly. We booked New York for my 30th birthday and staying at this hotel made it really special. The staff helped my partner arrange flowers and balloons on the day of my birthday and this was really appreciated. The room was exceptionally clean and had really good facilities, we really couldn’t list anything that we didn’t like or we think could be improved. We have recommended The Wallace to my brother in law and his wife and they have booked for later in the year. Thank you to all the staff at the Wallace for making my 30th birthday and our New York trip so special!

Nothing!

Spacious room and there was enough room for all our stuff, we could unpack and be comfortable. Everything in the room worked and if we used up something it was replaced by housekeeping. That sounds obvious but normally there is some minor thing wrong - not in this case, everything was perfect. The room was spotless, shower decent and amenities lovely. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Good location, we could walk to central park and the 72 street station was really convenient. Great bagel shops in the area. Staff were really pleasant. We had a drink and light meal in the bar and that was lovely.

A minor thing but proper coffee cups (not paper) and an ironing board in the room would have been great.

We stayed at The Wallace for a birthday trip which turned into an engagement trip. Upon hearing this the staff were so excited for us and gave us some bubbles to celebrate. For our first trip to New York we did’t want to stay in the crowded tourist hotels in midtown. We wanted a quieter experience after our long days of sight seeing. The Wallace was perfect for this. It felt like we were living like locals. The hotel was a home from home. We stayed in a double queen suite on a higher floor, which was super spacious and was the same price as the tiny box rooms that you’d find in midtown or soho. We enjoyed the free water and snacks. The beds were super comfy. We liked the little touches like room service/privacy lights and the chrome cast tvs. The lobby/bar/lounge had live jazz music nearly every night which we took advantage of before heading out for the night. The area has lots of bars close by. Vanguard wine bar is amazing, we found ourselves going back there for a few nights, definitely recommend! Lots of food near by too, Levain bakery is a short walk away for the most amazing cookies. Subway is super close to the hotel and makes it easy to explore all of NY. The hotel and staff were perfect, cannot fault it. Would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Amazing property in the UWS that is worth every penny! We spent a long weekend at the Wallace Hotel in December and we could not have been happier with our stay. Arrived early in the morning and our room was not yet ready, but they held our luggage while we went out to explore. The front desk promised to call us if the room opened earlier than the 3pm check-in and they left us a message around noon that we could get into our room. The rooms are extremely clean and very spacious for NYC. Everything about this hotel feels new, chic and just all around comfortable. I am very particular about hotel cleanliness and I can honestly say I have NEVER felt more comfortable than at The Wallace. They also have a gorgeous lounge on the first floor that gets very busy at night. Be sure to make a reservation for it! We wanted to get a drink on our way out but both nights it was completely booked.

There is nothing we did not like! Only thing I will say is the location is further from the main touristy attractions, which we actually preferred! But keep it in mind for restaurants or attractions. It is a bit of a journey down to Soho or the West Village and about a 30 min walk from midtown. Not really an issue during other seasons but the walk in the winter may not be for everyone. That said, there were also a ton of great spots near the hotel that had a more low-key, cozy feel!

Just luxurious enough, with robes, slippers, automatic shades, nice bathroom products … The bed was comfortable; the room quiet. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine and the lighting technology in the room. The push-button “do not disturb” function is cool. Front desk personnel were kind; elevators are quick. The bar downstairs was hopping. Seems like a place to be for even non-hotel patrons. There are a few cute boutiques in the vicinity, and a selection of nice restaurants. We loved Maison Pickle for brunch, and Black Press Coffee for joe. The 72nd Street MTA stop is about a 5 or 6 minute walk away, which makes for a rather easy journey downtown.
