The location was excellent for many reasons - close to beautiful Central Park, easy walking distance to many locations, very close to subway for easy transportation, opposite deli/supermarket for convenience, best coffee at Blue bottle around the corner, laundry facilities excellent, room size with kitchenette facilities was really great especially for families and the city view from our floor overlooking San Remo building was amazing - loved seeing this every day! Staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

Our heater needed several visits from the technician - while the service was appreciated each time, it would have been good not to have this interruption after big days out in NYC. The toilet needed a service also due to not flushing properly and the water had to run for about 5 minutes before heating which we thought was such a waste of water - particularly with droughts in Australia!

Our stay at Hotel Beacon in New York City's Upper West Side was comfortable and conveniently located on the 11th floor. While the suite had carpeted floors, they were everyday well-maintained. The bathroom, though showing signs of aging, was notably clean and stocked with a variety of toiletries. The suite itself was well-equipped with ample storage space, a dining table for four, and a practical kitchen with four gas burners, a large saucepan, a stainless steel frying pan, and tableware for four. Additional amenities included a microwave a toaster and a coffee machine, although we preferred our own instant pure arabica coffee. The spacious safe in the room was a noteworthy convenience, large enough to hold several notebooks. The view from the 11th floor was pleasing, featuring the iconic wooden water towers that are a characteristic part of New York City's landscape. The hotel's proximity to subway Line 1, just a 2-minute walk away, made transportation exceedingly convenient, and Central Park was easily accessible on foot within minutes. When it came to dining, the on-site FairWay supermarket proved handy for basic necessities with a first floor containing only organic produce. We found some excellent Italian olive oil, dried fruits, bread for our morning toast and very good quality organic eggs. However, for more extensive grocery shopping, we opted for a visit to the Whole Foods Market in Columbus Circle, accessible within a 10-minute subway ride. There, we discovered a wide selection of high-quality items, including delicious rotisserie organic chicken for $14. This option allowed us to fully enjoy the convenience and versatility of the suite's kitchen facilities. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and accommodating. Overall, Hotel Beacon provided a satisfying stay. The well-equipped kitchen and access to quality groceries enhanced our comfort in this secure and appealing neighborhood, making a return visit very likely.

minor inconveniences like carpeted floors which are not uncommon in the United States and an aging bathroom. WiFi is not secured by a password with WPA2 or WPA3 but you can connect to LinkNYC Free Wi-Fi more secured, the city access points are down the street and accessible if you are in the room near the window.

Location is great, staff is friendly. Appreciate the attention to the room, turned over every day. That is unusual nowadays. Thanks for the upgrade!

Up town location away from full on manhattan and in walking distance of Central Park and the riverside

The upside of the location also meant slightly further to travel to some places no outside space and a poor lobby area but great sized room and having a small kitchen area was great

It is such a nice, cozy place. The staff was friendly, the view - wonderful, rooms are big enough (we had 2bd), the storages - perfect, kitchen - love-love-love, elevator - always quick and empty. Here I learned that some hotels have self-service laundry - terrific option for a long travel with kids. And that they allow you to store luggage for a day after the check-out. Neighborhood looked safe and beautiful, walkability 10/10. The grocery store across the road is a cherry on top.

Extra clean, comfortable, well equipped, super super sound proof, very nice staff who is ready to help at any time, excellent room service, very nice location with nearby supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants and bakery shops. Walking distance to Times Square, Riverwalk and Central Park. Walking distance to worship facilities. I will definitely stay there in my coming visits to New York.

I got a room near elevator and it was noisy. Next morning the room was exchanged.

Great location in the Upper East Side with a Metro / Subway Station just a few minutes away. Our room was very clean and quiet, with a very comfy bed and a little kitchenette which was very helpful to cook breakfast and dinner, especially while travelling with our toddler. Daily houskeeping did a great job, everything was very clean all of the time. There is a great supermarket across the street, the cafe on the 2nd floor is also nice serving breakfast for reasonable prices.

The hotel does not provide any food nor (free) drinks, not even water (we knew that in advance though). One of the porters was very unfriendly on the day we left as we did not tip him for bringing our luggage from the room to the cab. I know it is different in the US about tipping. Nevertheless I paid more than 400 USD per night for our room, and this was the ONLY service I requested from the hotel all week. I would expect this kind of service being included.

The room was on the 11 floor with a good view over roof tops. We were upgraded to a suite because of the hotel not being able to honor our booking for the first night

The way that the problem with the first night booking was handled. we had been travelling for 9 hours and were tired. we were just told standing in the lobby that they had not our room. we needed to be sat down and explained to more and what the hotel was going to do about it. They did put us into a very nice room in another hotel for one night and gave us an upgrade to a suite for the rest. If this had been explained with an apology we would have been a lot happier and clearer.
