From the warm staff welcome the minute we arrived we knew we’d chosen well. No denying the location is excellent with subways to uptown/downtown at every corner. Local eateries just minutes away. The Flat has a big fridge to store your own food with coffee, tea and cold water on tap. Room was compact (not a surprise), bed and sink took up 90% of space. Air con great, fresh bedding and comfy. Two bathrooms on our floor, never saw another guest so no issues there. All very clean. This was really a gem of a place. Reception staff were really chatty and helpful.

Close to subway stations and in a good neighbourhood. Perfect for solo travellers. Room compact but perfect for a place to sleep and be base for sight seeing. Room was clean

No lift which is expressed so was to be expected. If I would stay here again I’d look to try and get rooms on 1st floor to save having to go up 3 floors with a case. Remote wasn’t working for air con unit and if room is road side was quite noisy. Didn’t mind sleeping with earplugs but be aware.

Really enjoyed my stay in this lovely decorated building. Great location and I found the staff to be really friendly and attentive: being met with a smile each day really goes a long way. Having somewhere to store my bag before/after check-in was incredibly helpful - as was the complimentary tea! Real nice bathrooms with no wait time.

The stairs were a killer - which isn't so much of a big deal for me - but if you're travelling with people who can't do the leg work, I would suggest requesting to stay on the 1st floor.

Second time I've stayed here as you cant beat the location and ease of access to multiple subway stations, shops and restaurants. Rooms are modern and clean. Staff are down to earth and helpful without being intrusive. Able to just grab bottles of water from the fridge is a nice addition.

Sadly you are paying a lot to stay on Manhattan and the price for what you're getting just doesn't measure up. Rooms are inherently small and often you have to use a shared bathroom too. I decided to take a chance on a deal to get a bigger room, but I still felt it was over priced. No elevator can rub some people the wrong way and you tend to hear a lot of noise from outside the room.

The check in process was super fast and the staff were very helpful and friendly in all our dealings with them! The location near Eataly was more perfect than we could have ever have imagined - close to everything and easy walk to all nearby subway stations. Room was bigger than most we’ve stayed in - in the heart of Manhattan, and the price was surprisingly low in comparison to all other places nearby. We had our own private bathroom which was ideal, and the aircon worked an absolute treat. Tea, coffee and water provided at all times was so handy. Would definitely recommend staying at The Flat NYC!

The fridge could have been slightly bigger - having said that - it was a blessing to have a tiny little fridge in our room!

If you’re traveling solo and looking for a clean, affordable hotel in a fantastic location, this is a great choice. I stayed for a week and was very pleased with my accommodation.

However, if you’re sensitive to noise, you might consider another option, as sounds from outside and the bar in the building are noticeable. For me, this wasn’t an issue, but it’s worth noting.

Great location in the center of Manhatten! They serve you free tea/coffey and water for free! I also left my bag for some hours after check-out to walk around since the flight was at evening

You should be mentally preperad for small room (was clean), shared bathroom (were not too busy) and no lift (I was living at last 5th (4th) floor and so most quite. Check with the location if they can put you not so high if it is important for you). For me all above were not a problem at all, so I enjoyed the stay!

The, staff, cleanliness, location and value were all excellent.

The only reason I didn’t give it a perfect review is because on the last day of our stay we had a later flight and asked to keep our bags at the property. The person informed us that room was being renovated that day and she couldn’t store any bags. We found that kind of funny because we just stared them there a couple of days before. Other than the the property far exceeded our expectations!

The hotel is small. There is no elevator so be prepared for narrow steep stairs for your suit cases. However, it’s clean and you get what you pay for.

Location was ideal. Flatiron district is a perfect place to be in midtown away from the stupidity of Times Square but still in the middle of the city, with tall buildings and history and NYC! Super safe, pretty and half a block from the subway. The shared bathroom thing wasn't bad at all. It was right outside my door and there being 2 bathrooms for every floor and only about 6 rooms on each floor so I never even saw anyone going to the bathroom or showering, let alone wait. And the bathroom is private once you're in. Cozy blankets and pillows, free waters and hot tea, zero noise! I had a great 3 night stay here and the price was literally hundreds less than other options in the area.

Would've like a little more space in the room but hey it's New York. Comes with the territory. Beds were a little soft for my taste.
