We absolutely loved our stay here.. it's so tranquil, quiet and relaxed, the pool is incredible and there's so much space to chill,, play games and cook. We are a family of 5 and found it very difficult to find a reasonably priced hotel on the island that actually had a bed for each of us! The large family room at Bamboo Cottage was perfect - very spacious, enough beds and close to the main communal area. We found the beds comfortable and the whole facility clean. The location is fantastic - a short walk from many good restaurants, but set back enough to feel peaceful. (We pre-hired a car for the week but it really wasn't necessary!) Staff were friendly and helpful, booked a great trip for us (Island hopping- highly recommended!), and there were plenty of snacks and drinks available, using a very reasonably priced honour system. We were very lucky in that for the first 2 days we were the only guests! Others who arrived later also had children, which was nice. We would 100% stay here again- my son already started saving up ;)

The rooms, the communal area and the pool are all lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful, upgrading us without being asked when one of our rooms developed a damp/drain type smell. It’s an easy walk or very quick Grab to the beach areas . We ate twice at the night food market - so cheap and beautiful food - and at Yellow and Hidden for sunset drinks and dinner and fire shows .

All the sunbeds are shaded by a fixed canvas . It would be nice to be able to be in full sun when it’s not too hot. The pool is really lovely and relaxing though , so this is a small point.

Big room, comfy bed. The common space is well and nicely organized. Free tea and coffee. There's enough in the fridge for a nice breakfast (cheese, eggs, bread, croissant etc). The pool with salted water is simply amazing. The Quiet Space upstair has a sofa, books and sport mats - really appreciated I could do my exercises. Celia is very nice and helpful, she has very good suggestions what to visit/to do on the island. The place is clean, nice and gives a good vibe. But that can be spoiled if you're not lucky to have respectful people around.

The room has quite a large opening up, thats maybe not a good idea. Whatever is outside, quickly arrives in the room, heat, smells, smoke, noises (the neighbours next door, the workers cutting bricks all day long for a new house nearby etc). The noise was the biggest minus in our case.

Such a beautiful place! Five minutes off the main road which made it super peaceful. Really comfy bed and lovely rooms, tastefully decorated. Lovely pool and eating area. Great facilities for eating and staying on site for food ~ can bring your own or purchase simple items from the hotel for breakfast. Can use the cooking facilities and crockery. Tea/coffee and hot and cold water available. Upstairs area has a sharing library and games/chill out spaces to use if you’re spending the day relaxing at home. Can hire bikes and do excursions from the hotel. Hotel has a great sustainability and recycling ethos and encourages a more environmental approach. Super friendly, welcoming and helpful staff/owners. Really was a lovely place to be.

The pool is amazing, they provide lots of toys/beach ball for our kids to play with. Our villa is very spacious and comfortable. Lots of plug points as well. The toilet is okay. The bed is comfortable. The location is very strategic.

We asked for room cleaning on our second day while we were away exploring Langkawi. But only to come back in the evening to the room as we left them.. they didn't clean the room or even change the towels. But the owner quickly handled the situation which is good enough. I wish there were more or bigger hotel signboards at the intersection from the main road. You can only use an iron board at the common area near the reception which is quite difficult.

Let's start with the property itself, it's greatly located a little bit hidden but just off the main road so it's always nice and peaceful. The amazing salt water pool is a huge and a welcome relief when you get back at the end of the day exploring the island. Talking about exploring, don't worry about booking a scooter rental as you can do this through the hotel and yes you might pay a little bit more (we paid 40 ringgit per day) but it gets delivered and picked up at the hotel and the scooters are in great condition. The room is very spacious and with all the bamboo the design is really cool. Shower has hot water if you want/need it. There's free coffee and tea and filtered water in the common area, plus some cooking equipment if you don't want to eat out. Celia the owner of Bamboo Cottage is the best host you can imagine. She organised the scooter for us, gave us a thousand tips on what to do on the island and where to eat/drink (which made our stay 1000x more enjoyable) and was just generally nice to sit down and chat with. If you're looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful and well designed space then don't hesitate and book Bamboo Cottage!

We had a fantastic stay at this eco lodging. The villa was very comfortable, quiet and we felt close to nature while staying here, away from the hustle and bustle, although it was only a short walk to many restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the honesty system where you can get drinks and snacks. Nero the dog was very friendly! The pool was great - the kids loved it. We also liked their commitment to recycling. We would love to stay here again!

The bugs, but we were expecting it! Bring plenty of insect repellent!

Nice accomodation with lovely common area outside (pool, hammocks, tables etc). There’s also a space upstairs perfect to read or do a work out. Close proximity to the Main Street and beach. Helpful staff.

Our room felt and smelled a little wet. Like you couldn’t really get rid of the humidity and it has festered in the walls. Wasn’t a big problem though as you couldn’t see anything. The electricity was connected with your room key. So whenever you left the fridge obvs would be turned off, too, which was a bit annoying but reasonable.

We loved our stay at a bamboo cottage and will definitely be back! Such a nice atmosphere with a chilled vibe. Very safe and fun for kids but also just as enjoyable for adults. Room was very spacious and clean. You can help yourself to drinks and small snacks from the fridge and just write down what you had along the way - lovely system! 5/10 minute walk to restaurants/duty free shops and the beach too.

No balcony to dry wet clothes, however it didn’t seem to be a problem to just dry them outside for a little bit while you were out there.

Nice big space with a big pool and just enough loungers, as well as plenty of other outdoor seating in the kitchen area. AC and hot water in the bedrooms, nice design and interior everywhere. Well equipped kitchen and an honesty fridge for eggs, yogurt, cereal milk etc was a nice touch as well as the free flow filter coffee and filtered water. Great place to chill out and maybe meet some other travellers if you want to - felt like the sweet spot between hotel and hostel that I have found myself wanting in my 30s. Nice staff and the property is really well maintained with nice gardens and plants everywhere. Short walk to a few decent restaurants and a bar or 2 - it's not buzzing but I preferred the area to the bigger busier beach.

Would love a bit more lounged seating in the shade (don't worry there's plenty of shaded place to sit, but other than the pool loungers it's all upright chairs or putting a bed cushion on the grass)
