We are very happy with the stay at Holiday Inn. The staff is nice and helpful, rooms are comfortable and very clean (cleaning service - very good job, thanks!). Hotel is very close to the Royal Mile (so close to everything), yet it is quiet. The only thing that was - let's say - not my style was the breakfast (missing vegetables) but I understand it is a Scottish breakfast (so bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, beans and porrage, cereals, croissants / tost with jam). And the coffee might be a bit better. Anyway, I have never left the breakfast room hungry :) If we're back go Edinburgh, we'll definetely choose this hotel.

We loved the breakfast options. Hot and cold foods , attendants were welcoming, cherrie space. Location in walking distance to everything. Just perfect! Desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. We loved Prya. She was there with a smile everyday. We were able to have a pre booked taxi to the airport and grab bag breakfast to take with us! Very appreciated.

Unable to have phone service into and out of the hotel. A Scottish friend tried to call but wasn’t allowed a call to our room. I was accommodated. He was asked to call back and I could speak with him from the desk phone. Use of room phone makes more sense.

Room was clean Staff were friendly Well situated near the city centre Breakfast was very nice with a good selection to choose from Complimentary drinking water at reception was a nice bonus Ability to store luggage even after checkout came in really handy and allowed us to enjoy an extra day of sight seeing

No fridge in the room. I would of liked somewhere to keep chilled items as it was middle of summer. TV had hotel style freeview. The was intermittant and hard to navigate. Which seems to be the standard. Obviously TV is not really a priority but every hotel is like this which is annoying. Someone needs to improve the service to make it more modern. I hope one day I go to a hotel and the tv is as smart as my home tv. And can play Youtube atleast.

Perfect location. Very friendly staff, from reception to housekeeping. We have indicated that our stay is for the celebration of our anniversary, and they’ve offered free drinks. It may not sound too much but this shows how customer-friendly and kind they are. Rooms and hotel in general decent and clean. We are overall very satisfied with our stay.

The bed was small. We needed hotel slippers in the room but there wasn’t any. We asked the reception and they told us that they don’t have any of the Holiday Inn’s and it was disappointing. Breakfast was very weak. At least cheese, tomatoes and cucumber should be on the buffet. The egg was tasteless and soggy.

Location was good as it was close to the Royal Mile and meeting places for a couple of tours we liked. The price included breakfast which was very good and a good way to start the day. Staff was friendly rooms were pretty quiet.

We were there 4 nights and a couple of times our trash hadn't been emptied when they came into the room. Also, one of the drinking glasses had lipstick on it and it wasn't our lipstick. They put the same glass out the next day so we had to call down to the front desk for clean glasses. We washed the glasses just to be sure.

The breakfast offered cereals, berries, yogurt, bread, muffins, "eggs", bacon, sausage, and beans along with a variety of beverages. The area was clean and staff did a fine job of refilling the food when it emptied. It did the trick of fueling us up to start the day, but wasn't anything special by European standards. We got a great rate relative to other places in the area, the whole family was able to stay in the same room, and the location was perfect. The bed linens were clean.

The bed was awful. It sank in the middle and slid around on the floor at the slightest bump. The sofa bed was no better. Surfaces were dusty in corners, the giant container of hand soap at the sink in the bathroom was so low we had to pump several times to get any soap, moldy areas in the shower. The place is looking aged. It was tolerable for 3 nights.

Arrived a little bit early and were quickly booked in by a very efficient, friendly and helpful young lady at reception. She even organised for our luggage to be taken up to our room. Everything was great, a really good breakfast with loads of choices. The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk up to The Royal Mile.

When checking out, the whole happy experience was spoilt. We asked if our luggage could be brought down for us - we are not young, both in our late 70's - and were told categorically by the duty manageress that this service wasn't offered and they wouldn't help us. Rather odd that as it had been 3 days earlier! Sadly spoilt the whole experience really.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to get any sleep the night before we arrived at this hotel and check in was not until 3pm. I rang prior to out 6am flight and asked would there be any possibility of an early check-in for one room. The girl on the phone explained she couldn't guarantee but would try. When we arrived both our rooms were ready for us. The staff are so helpful, friendly and cannot do enough for you. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We really enjoyed the breakfast options also.

The location is wonderful. Easily accessible from Waverly station. The room had good sized windows and the view was pleasing from a first floor perspective. The Staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good.

The room floor was not clean when we moved into the room. The next day only sheets were changed but the floor was still not vaccumed. The light in the room could have been better. It was low. The baby cot was not having a comfortable mattress so we did not use it for our baby. The breakfast could be better. For the same price, other hotels provide more options.
