We were in Unit 8 of 10 Units. This was a remodeled former church that was upscaled to perfection. There was a large living/dining/kitchen area, large modern bath (2 sinks large shower), and loft bedroom. The bed was near queen size. During our stay,a blind fell down; we contacted management and a repairman was sent within 1 hour. This hotel is within steps of High Street and about two blocks from Cockburn street with at least 10 restaurants of varying cuisines. The highest rated breakfast place is next door.

There are aspects that should be noted. There were 45 steps from the front door upstairs to unit 8 (no elevator), plus 11 more steps to the loft. The bathroom is downstairs from the loft. There is no dresser in the loft and only one small closet with about 5 hangars. The ventilation is limited, although no issue when we were there due to the temperate weather. The foregoing are not criticisms, but rather an expansion to the details the hotel website sets forth.

I've booked a one-bedroom apartment, and it's a lovely loft that has truly surprised me. It offers kitchen facilities as well as bathroom hygiene products. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from the high street. I will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

However, due to its prime location, there might be some street noise at night, which is acceptable.

The apartment is lovely and well equipped with a spacious bathroom. The location is superb and the price was fantastic. Lots of luxuries such as robes and slippers. The service staff was responsive. The online instruction guide thorough and easy to follow.

It’s not a complaint about the apartment itself but if anyone has mobility issues be sure to contact the property directly before booking to ensure the apartment you reserve is suitable. Apartment 5 has a loft bed that requires climbing several steep and windy stairs. The shower could use some anti-slip treads as I nearly slipped several times.

Great property in a great location

The washing machine is plumbed into the hot water feed so even if you set it to a cool cycle you will get a very hot wash - watch out for your delicates!

We stayed for three nights in a Superior Apartment on the top floor. It was absolutely beautiful, with an amazing view of Arthur's Seat. We loved the architecture, with the gorgeous arched windows, and the apartment had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, and I love that they included Nespresso coffee pods and milk. The beds were super comfortable, and it was convenient to have two full bathrooms. The location could not have been more perfect, just a few steps to the Royal Mile but on a quieter side street, so noise was not an issue. Entering the building and apartment and using luggage storage with the code was simple. It's true that there is no lift, but we knew about that in advance.

We couldn't get any of the TV apps (Netflix, Prime, etc.) to work. It just kept resetting to the main menu whenever we tried to enter our login information. BBC iPlayer did work, though, and of course we didn't come to Edinburgh to watch television, so it was no big deal. There's no light blocking for the top window in the arch, so the bed in the loft has quite a bit of morning light. We were there in October, so the sun didn't rise too early, but I imagine this could be an issue for those sensitive to light who are visiting in the summer. Just bring a sleep mask!

Accommodation was excellent . Location was just perfect and very quite despite being in middle of town . Beautifully appointed and had everything you need. We stayed for 10 day and it was just perfect.

The only issue was the sofa bed , it was very uncomfortable . I have 2 children who didn't want to share , so this looked a great option, but alas was so uncomfortable that they ended up sharing , which was unfortunate as this was one of the main reasons we booked the lofts, as we were staying for 10 days . The bathroom also got very steamy despite the extractor .

Central location in old town yet surprisingly quiet area. Beautiful apartment. Spacious kitchen/dining/living room and bathroom. Amazing windows with blackout blinds. High quality fixtures, fittings, decor, bedding, towels. Plenty of toiletries, coat hangers, storage space and full kitchen facilities and supplies. Very useful secure bag storage pre-check in and post check out. Comprehensive access instructions and information - it’s all there if you read it fully! Manager quick to respond to messages and very helpful. Very popular and convenient place for lovely breakfast at The Larder just 2 doors up. Book or you’ll queue to get in.

Loved the idea and look of the mezzanine bed and wardrobe space but we are both tall so could not stand up straight in this area. Very limited floor space to get dressed. Banged head a few times. Was super expensive as we visited during the fringe festival.

Perfect location for first stay in Edinburgh, very central. The apartment was very clean with everything we needed for a little break. Very stylish and although you are a stones throw away from central Edinburgh it was very quiet and we slept comfortably after a days sightseeing in Edinburgh. If you’ve never been before comfy shoes/trainers are a must! There’s so much to see & do,a really great city to visit. Finding such amazing accommodation was the icing on the cake & we would stay again.

The second bedroom was a glorified bunk bed on a mezzanine above the kitchen. Not the best for a 6 foot guest. Ceiling is 4 ft above bed. The locker in the hallway was a shared locker with other guests so not secure. Disappointed with no dining table or desk and the kitchen bench (although had 4 small stools) was hindered by the mezzanine and not suitable for three 6 ft adults. (Room 3)

Super clean with everything anyone needs. Perfect location, and smack between two of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Appreciated extra towels for family of 4. Wonderful to have storage for luggage before check in.

Wish we got the room shown in photo with fabulous windows! Really though, nothing wrong with rooms that we had. Wish that I had seen the QR reader which would get me instructions on operating heaters and washing machine. QR was on framed info panel but was by the television near the floor, which was the last place we would look for it as we were not in Edinburgh to watch tv! I think that frame should be in kitchen countertop or the dining table. Just a thought.
