Absolutely lovely stay at the Bell & Crown! Staff are wonderful, so polite and professional. We had breakfast and two dinners in the restaurant, the food is really great quality and reasonable prices. Previous reviews mentioned they could hear the noise from the pub in rooms but we couldn’t hear this at all. Room was spacious and well equipped, very clean and comfortable bed. Location of pub is ideal for getting to stourhead and longleat, and lots of other cute local towns. Highly recommend this place for a weekend stay!

Nothing! If I was going to say anything to improve the stay it would have been lovely to have dressing gowns to make it even cosier :)

The property was lovely. Outside space with great views. The pub was very characterful and cosy with open log fire. The room was beautifully decorated, simple merge of the old character with modern comfort. Bed was cozy and very comfortable. Bathroom was modern and beautiful with a large shower. The staff were amazing. Very courteous and polite. Dinner in the pub was amazing. Was so full we had to go for a walk afterwards. But price was good value for the amazing quality of the food and service. Location was excellent. Easy access from the main roads. We were visiting Stourhead and the Bell and Crown was 5 minutes from the estate by car.

Only thing I would improve is the WiFi signal which was a little weak.

The hotel as perfectly placed for a break on our long journey to the West Country. It was handily near the main road (the A303). There was a warm welcome form the young, efficient staff. The hotel was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. Dinner was good and the restaurant crowded: this place is popular! We had a good night's sleep in a comfortable, well-equipped room. The breakfast was good in a pleasant room with friendly staff. There was a nice village for an evening stroll. This is a place to return to on future journeys.

This is a popular pub / hotel that is well managed and attractive for a short (or longer) break. No complaints.

The room was outstanding. Roomy, clean, comfortable beds, opening windows with cushioned seats in them, and an exceptional bathroom. Coffee and tea making facilities that included fresh coffee and a press, as well as a thermos with milk. Very friendly people, good food, although, due to a busy Sunday the Cheeseburger was sold out, but that always makes me happy as they then do not come out of a freezer. Breakfast was perfect. Many choices, even up to a Bloody Mary if you are in need of one :-) Location right next to a road (hey, it is an inn...), ample parking and very close to Stourhead House. Also an easy couple of hours from Dover which makes it a nice target for your first or last night in Britain.

I could not name one thing, TBH

All the staff were quite friendly and helpful with being able to get ourselves checked-in late and get a pint at the pub on arrival. The breakfast was also quite good, although maybe not amazing. I was a convenient location for attending a wedding at Stourhead.

It was quite difficult to actually get a hold of a person there to ask how to arrange for a late arrival. The phone number goes into a robot and it takes a bit of cleverness to get through to a person (need to ask to make a large dinner booking).

Updated rooms above a historic and quaint pub. It is in a cute countryside town. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub, and the food was delicious. We ordered the sirloin and the lamb, which I would recommend. Breakfast was a full English style breakfast with options. The staff was helpful and very friendly.

Shower temperature control wasn't working, and the water was super hot.

The staff are amazing and will do anything to help you, the location is also amazing (do go to Stourhead house & gardens, it's just round the corner really and beautiful). Food also excellent (particularly the breakfast). Room was just the right size.

Air conditioning didn't really seem to cool the room much and personally I'd like a chest of drawers or a wardrobe, but those are really minor things.

The staff were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and the bathroom clean with complimentary toiletries and large fluffy towels. Bottled water and earplugs were also supplied. There was a good choice of breakfast menu.

Rooms are accessed by an outside staircase which can be a bit slippery in the rain. Our room was just over the bar area and the music, although not overly intrusive, could be heard in our bedroom (hence the earplugs?)

Great location for Stourhead & just off the A303. It has a nice sized car park & we had a friendly welcome, the room was nicely decorated and really cosy. The bar was great with a big open fire and the food at dinner was really tasty. Breakfast in the morning was great also. Staff were all very helpful & friendy and we will stay again when down that way again in the future.

Breakfast was really good & very plentiful. Shakshuka was delicious & spicy. A real treat. Lots of fresh fruit salad, creamy natural yogurt & fresh pastries. All with very good coffee. Room was very tastefully decorated & bed super comfy. Had an amazing night’s sleep. Very good coffee & tea offer in room with fresh milk. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Fantastic stay.

Room rate for single guest would have made it perfect.
