We booked the hotels especially because of its great location! It is very close to the main attractions of the city center and very close to the tram/bus/metro station so all the other attractions are in a fair reach. It was clean, staff was lovely, really enjoyed it!
The only minus is given especially because of its location - since it’s close to the city center, it does become noisy. As part of the Christmas decorations they have some singing streets and also the restaurants close-by have ongoing music. Also, we stayed exactly during the weekend so the streets were busy than normal (i suppose). However, the window does block most of the noise, but if you are sensitive, you can clearly hear it. And then, there was some noise coming from the draining or heating system (could not figure it out) when the others from the hotel were using it. So, some earplugs would be definitely needed.

Lovely hotel, great location, lovely big corner room no. 103), quick checkin.
Room above restaurant was very noisy with music from restaurant late into the early morning. Ordered a take out breakfast as we were leaving at 7am before breakfast started. Paid £15 for a bottle of water, carton of juice, an apple, a tiny cheese croissant and a tiny roll! Receptionist (male, bald, glasses, sorry didn’t get name) very dismissive, unfriendly, disinterested. He didn’t ask how our stay was on checkout, just asked what room, handed us our breakfast and that was the total of his interaction, let down for this hotel. Female receptionist on the previous evening was very friendly, chatty and helped us with Fado recommendations.

I loved everything about this hotel and would come back here time and time again: 1) The location was incredible, so central to everything and close to so many beautiful areas to walk around at night time to enjoy great restaurants, live music from buskers, and the overall vibe of this beautiful city; a complete sense of safety the whole time. 2) The rooms are beautiful. 3) The STAFF was incredible ... I was a solo female traveler and felt so taken care of by everyone I met. All the boys at reception were incredible! 4) If you plan to get around by subway there is a subway stop very, very close by. The cable car stops near the Arco are also very close. Can't wait to go back again and when I do I will 100% return here!

Location, amenities, elevator to rooms, AC, bathrobe and slippers, restaurant and outdoor cafe, very helpful staff! Close to Centro Nacional de Cultura and Praça do Comercio. ATM right across the street. Taxis arrive in minutes.Easy meet up place to go out with friends at night. Safe area for walking back after dinner.
Cleaning staff often ended up cleaning my room in the afternoon when I needed to rest in my room. On one very hot day, they didn’t clean my room at all and it smelled terrible. Very noxious odors come up through the plumbing. I had to air out the room every day. I had to get a friend to help me turn on the AC in my room. Never learned how to regulate the fan.

The hotel was very central and staff were helpful in terms of finding my way around. The room was light and airy, with a window that opened. Good quality fittings (although the hair dryer died on my second morning). The complimentary Portuguese tarts in the room were a welcome surprise on arrival and the fridge and coffee machine were appreciated.
I didn’t have breakfast there as I thought it expensive, compared to other hotels I’d been staying at. However the hotel was surrounded by many tempting cafes and pastry shops. Given the cost of accommodation I was surprised that only paper cups were supplied with the coffee machine (and they weren’t replaced) and the tissue box held only 6 tissues. 3 coffee capsules were provided and one bottle of water - extras had to be purchased at the desk.

/ Very pleasant receptionist: Sofia. / Good room, 408. / Complementary egg tarts x 2 and bottle of water. / Safe deposit box. / Full height French doors/windows. / Reasonable, complementary, wifi. / Good selection of international TV channels.
/ The room is compact in size, but adequate for a couple of nights. / No chair in the room, because the rooms is too small fofr a chair. / Compact bathroom, but adequate for a couple of nights. / The AC unit was noisy. / First morning I left the room at ~9am. Returned at ~2pm but the room still hadn't been serviced. No doubt they do the rooms of those guests who are checking out first. Nevertheless checkout was 11am, so 3 hours after checkout my room still hadn't been serviced.

Im glad I picked this hotel as it was the perfect location as we were able to walk to basically everything we wanted to do! Staff were great and helpful when we needed assistance, room was clean and tidy and to top it off, we checked in to find some Pasteis de nata's waiting for us! :)
FYI for others who may have a lot of luggage, the room is a pretty cramped! As we spent most of our time out and about, it wasn't a huge issue for us but had we decided to unpack our luggage a bit more, I don't think we would have been able to move around much. Otherwise everything else was spot on!

Our stay at My Story Hotel Ouro was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. The room was impeccable—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and extremely comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. We were also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary sweets and treats left in the room; such a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. The hotel’s location is another highlight. It is perfectly situated close to many popular tourist attractions, making it easy for us to explore the city without any hassle. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning traveler, the convenience of being in the heart of everything cannot be overstated. Overall, our time at My Story Hotel Ouro was fantastic, and we cannot recommend it enough. We will definitely be back!

We would absolutely stay again in My Story Ouro. The staff was helpful and friendly. The central location of the hotel was perfect for us. It was easy to navigate around the city and find plenty of things to do and see. Breakfast each morning was delicious. They had a wide variety of things to choose from : little pastries, fruit, juices, eggs etc. The coffee machine that they use had a wide assirtment of ways to drink coffee which was an unexpected pleasure. One evening, we decided to have dinner at the hotel instead of finding a local restaurant and we were not disappointed. My husband had pasta bolognese which he said was superb, as did 3 others in our party, and I had a simple ham and cheese sandwich with fries which was also wonderful.
Our room was smaller than we expected. We were unable to unpack for the 4 days we stayed because there weren’t enough hangers or drawers for our clothes. However, the room was kept spotless each day by the cleaning crew. One other thing: we travelled with 2 other couples. The lobby was extremely small so that when we all walked inside, there was little room for anyone else to get past all of us and our luggage.

The spacious room with high ceilings and a bathroom with a window created a cozy atmosphere. We liked the availability of slippers, bathrobes, and provided bathroom amenities. Daily cleaning maintained cleanliness and order in the room. Pleasant lighting contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel's location in the center turned out to be ideal: the city noise did not disturb our rest. We also appreciated the discount on drinks and dinner at the restaurant on the ground floor. The presence of a coffee machine and capsules for it in the room, as well as the dessert (Pastel de Belem) and drinking water provided, was a pleasant bonus.
The only drawback of our stay was the lack of heating in the room in December. The air conditioner did not provide the option to switch to heating. Also, we were a bit unlucky with the shower, which leaked slightly when in use. Overall, despite some shortcomings, our stay at this hotel was pleasant and comfortable. We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and acquaintances.
