THE PLACE IS EXCELLENT,EXCACTLY AT THE CENTER OF THE CITY EVERYTHING IS SO CLOSE ROOM WAS VERY BIG AND COMFORT,WITH TWO BATHROOMS AND A SMALL LIVING ROOM VERY CLEAN WITH ALL THE AMENITIES,ENOUGH SPACE TO PACK YOUR THINGS AND MOVE VERY NICE DECORATION

1.THERE WAS NO FRIDGE IN THE ROOM (UNACCEPTABLE) THEY BROUGHT ONE THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR DEPARTURE,I HOPE THEY KEEP IT FOR THE NEXT CUSTOMER 2.IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LEAVE YOUR LUGGAGE IN A DIFFERENT PLACE THAN THE ONE YOUR ARE SUPPOSED TO STAY (IN PALACIO DAS ESPERIARIAS) AND THEN TAKE A TAXI TO GET TO THE ROOM.THERE HAS TO BE A PLACE AND SOMEBODY RESPONSIBLE TO PICK UP THE LUGGAGE AND KEEP THEM IN CASIHNA DOS SAPATEIROS UNTIL THE CHECK IN TIME COMES

The location of the building is right in the middle of town with everything nearby. The apartment was very spacious with amazing decorations and comfortable bed and the smell of cinnamon in the halls gave it a great touch.

The communication with the hosts is really bad. The didn’t reply on booking so that we can get our access code to the building even though we did the online check-in and payed the fees. We had to contact booking client services so that we can get through to them in a different number than the one listed on the website

The suite was large and comfy. Plenty of space to spread out. The bed was great. Liked the little library outside our door. Excellent location! The staff was fantastic. Although the suite was a 10 min walk from the main hotel (the “palace”) they were always available. Especially appreciated Luís walking with us from the hotel (where you check in and get your code) to our suite. He even carried all our stuff!

Nothing. Great location and great staff. The code for our building and room didn’t work but Luis and others stuck with it until things were resolved. The tiny desk top refrigerator is a bit silly (albeit cute). Very little will fit. A beer maybe. Plenty of space for a mini fridge.

The location was perfect, close to everything and safely located. The property was just awesome, we had room #4 (1st floor) and it was very nice, neat, clean, well maintained! Perfect room size for 2 people with nice comfy bed and pillows, bathroom was great (loved the shower) and nice small sitting area with 2 chairs! I love how the room and entire apartment was nicely decorated! The entrance hallway/staircase smells so good and the building entrance with couch was a very nice touch! It was also such an easy check in process as long as you do the early online check in and pay the required city taxes online, we we’re able to get our access door code the day of and since our room was ready, we were also able to check in/get in couple hours earlier which was great! Everyone at Casinha dos Sapateiros was very helpful, accommodating and quickly replied to all my inquiries via their online chat message or using the WhatsApp application. They were all very responsive and great with all the communications. THANK YOU to all the staff at Casinha dos Sapateiros! I would highly recommend this place!

The place itself was nicely furnished and spacious. There was a lot of space to hang clothes, a dressing table, iron, kitchen with a fridge. There was soap/shampoo/toilet roll always available. There was a housekeeper that would come everyday to change the towels, make the bed and supply a new bottle of water and coffee pods (which was a pleasant surprise!). It's in the heart of the centre, close to food places and restaurants; saying this, the road itself is fairly quiet so you don't hear loud outside noises in the night!

- We had to wait for a code on arrival from the owner - I would suggest having the owners number saved (not through booking.com) so you can message them but they reply really quickly. - It is quite an old building, and we were on the second floor (Room 8). Whenever someone was walking in the room above we could hear loud footsteps and the ceiling lights would shake a little. If you are light sleeper, this can be annoying.

Wow, the room was beautiful and spacious! I had all these fears when I read some reviews from Google but on Bookings it was positive. Bookings was right, beautiful room and location was fantastic with restaurants and famous plazas just minutes away. I can't say enough good things about this place. We had a deluxe superior room on the third floor was really perfect no noise from the street.

So the check in was a issue. We were suppose to get the code at 3PM the day of check in but it never came. I had to contact the people on WhatsApp to get the code because I got no response from the Bookings message system. I was persistent to get the code since it was for both the room door and the front safety door. We got in late after 10 PM so I wanted to make sure our check in was good. The next day we found two other groups in front of the door at 4PM and they each never got their code either so we helped them with the WhatsApp number and they called and got their codes so something here needs to change so people can have a flawless check in. Also the Elevator starts on the first floor so be prepared to carry all bags up the first flight of stairs.

We stayed in a 'Superior Suite' no.5 - wow, greatly decorated and very generous little flat , fully furnished with everything. Double glazed no noise whatsoever. All the works referred by others have all been completed and we did not notice any works opposite either. We arrived at 1400 hours and room was ready. We were sent an entrance code for building and room. All worked perfectly. Location is excellent. p.s. Frankly if you arrive earlier then the 3pm checkin you might encounter problems on where to live luggage as there is no reception. We did not have this problem. Overall fantastic stay.

2. We came home to find the Front door fully open. Front door needs an auto close / check it does not get stuck on the floor. 3. We were out late on Fri and put a do not disturb sign on the apartment door, only to be woken up with Banging, Drilling, Noise and Vibrations from building works on Sat morning. It'll be better to give warning on nearby building works and noise, offering a discounted rate or some refund. 4. Maybe offer some slippers for the room.

Apartment was spacious with a specious bathroom and sizable shower. also a coffee machine :-) Great location - in the middle of busy centre lastly it was furnished in great modern and stylish way:-)

i think due to the building being old(ish) the pipes made Lound noise which for a light sleeper like me was a bit annoying and ruined my nigh sleeps a bit. could do with a hairdryer. also the floor in thw corridor and bathroom could have ben cleaned better as there were plenty of dark hair on the floor.

The room was excellent, the location is unbeatable. The decoration and details outstanding. This is an old building that has been modernized to meet the expectations of today with the charm of yesterday.

In general I am not very happy when the experience is so anonymous. We had some WhatsApp messages and a door code. However the "remote person", Patricia, was very thorough and professional via WhatsApp and let us know that there would be assistance available 24/7 if needed and that the office was about 8 minutes from the hotel. We realized that this company has 5 properties and all are managed this way. Not so sure I like this approach, but it worked well and with no problems.
