The hotel has its charm. The breakfast was very good! Free parking and coffee/tea possibility in a room
The walls are not soundproof The bathroom needs hooks/railings- there is no space to hang the towels. Our room was on the 1st floor towards the street- if you looked down the window you see all rubbish containers and if you open the window you hear and smell staff smoking cigarettes. Not ideal for the price paid :-( I imagine 4-star- experience differently

A stunning location with amazing views over Cork City from the room's balcony. The huge room was warm and comfortable with all the facilities required. The food for breakfast and dinner in the wonderfully decorated North Restaurant was superb with an excellent range of choices on the menu. Although not in the city centre and on a hill it was close enough to walk and the area was quiet. When our pre-booked taxi didn't turn up on the morning of our Ring of Kerry coach tour with Paddywagon, Megan on Reception contacted both the taxi and tour company on our behalf and Stephanie drove us in her own car to ensure that we made it to the coach before it left. We can't thank them enough as they rescued the situation and gave us a day which proved to be such a memorable experience. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly and made us feel so welcome. We look forward to returning in the future.

The room was amazing and the hotel was situated in a beautiful location overlooking Cork. The bar was wonderful too very reasonably priced and the staff are a credit to you
The breakfast. On our first morning we had to pre book our time slot. When we arrived we were not informed about the cereal, toast, fruit etc section and had to wait for 10 minutes for bacon, sausages -and hash browns. The breakfast was very mediocre for the pice of the room and all standard food. We discovered on the second morning you could ask for a poached egg. Different staff on the Sunday morning very professional, food available and everything explained to us on arrival so made up for the poor effort on the Saturday morning.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough, but main attraction for this hotel for us is Don, the night porter/barman/receptionist. We stayed here last year couldn’t wait to return to visit him again & after speaking to locals in the city Centre it seems Don is quite the local celeb. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially for the festive season where it is decorated throughout. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean and have everything you need without having to pay extra to hire such as an iron and ironing board and a salon quality hairdryer. The majority of staff are fabulous with nothing being too much trouble, from allowing us to check in early when arriving at 8am, to booking taxis as and when needed and so on
The breakfast one morning was poor, the food warmers weren’t turned on, bread, plates nor water had been replenished. It was different staff that were working compared to our previous visits and the service showed that. Besides that though the food was lovely and I would again book bed & breakfast as it was definitely worth the money

beautiful room and view, the staff were amazingly helpful and friendly and we had a wonderful stay for my partners birthday, we didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfast options of full irish and continental were excellent, we had a balcony room at the front and the view was stunning (at least until the next morning when we woke to an absolutely smothered by fog cork)
The only slight negative we had was the room was swelteringly hot when we came in, not sure if a previous guest had turned the radiators up or if that was default for the hotel, but easily fixed once we found the radiator control and opened the balcony door and window

When I checked in, the lady at reception was lovely. I had a slight issue with my room—not the hotel's fault, as I forgot to mention my need for accessibility. The room was at the top, and there was no lift access. I asked if there was any way it could be changed. Since I was heading out to dinner with friends who were waiting to collect me, the receptionist kindly assured me it would be sorted by the time I returned. When I got back, I was moved to a lovely room with a fabulous view, complete with quirky steps leading to the balcony. I absolutely loved it!
Breakfast setting could have been better. Walking back from the centre was uphill and for me rather difficult.

The room was beautiful and the view from our balcony was stunning. All the staff we spoke to were very nice and friendly.
On our last night we had a group in the room next to us playing music extremely loudly and smoking weed on their balcony so that our room next door reeked of weed smoke as well. We didn't call to complain as we weren't comfortable to do so - but I was surprised that they had not been asked to stop or kicked out when they were still blasting music at 3am.

The room was a fabulous size and hurray a real king size bed. Nice views of Cork City.
We contacted the property about having a quiet room as we had been travelling for several weeks and needed a good rest. Howev3r, they took no notice of our request and put us in a room above the restaurant which was very noisy! A simple request which went unheeded. The location is on top of a very steep hill, you have to walk some distance to get into the town centre - not suitable for anyone who has walking issues.

The hotel itself was a beautiful place. We felt like staying in an old mansion from the 1920s or 1930s. The place was very thoughtfully decorated. The best part was: The room was very spacious, very beautifully decorated as well and offered everything you need (comfortable beds, great bathroom and more than enough space fortwo people. The breakfast was a good range of warm and cold food (e.g. full Irish breakfast). The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
- Nothing related to the hotel, everything was perfect - The location wasn't so good: Although it's near the city center the hotel is located on a steap hill.

Lovely location and fantastic rooms, staff are beyond helpful and the hotel is wonderfully kept.
Food was subpar. Cheese was like plastic unfortunately which is a shame since Irish dairy has fantastic cheese to offer. Carrots were bland and felt like they were forced rather than using what was in season. Brownie was very dry and almost dusty in texture. Prices were a little steep in restaurant for what ended up on the plate.
