Super clean. Had a bright, airy feel. You could open a window or use the air-conditioning. Tea and coffee facilities. Plates, bowls and cutlery, microwave & toaster in room which was great to have! Compact room. Spacious bathroom. Has a tiny ledge on either side of bed that served as bedside tables, we thought that was cute. Power points on both sides. Wardrobe had proper hangers and were mirrored, so you could use that while someone was in the bathroom. They had a recycling bin on the premises.

Bathroom exhaust was not very strong. As a budget room, it doesn't have a seat anywhere or a place to put luggage. Very tiny wardrobe. Bed was a little too soft for my liking. Would have liked a second bin in the bedroom as there was only one in the bathroom.

These units are very well-designed and extremely comfortable. The bed was very comfy and the room was spacious with good facilities to heat food and keep it cool. Parking was right outside the door.

We have been on the road a lot and looked forward to a couple of nights here to recharge our batteries. However as we tried to relax the morning after we arrived, children were racing around on bikes and scooters and yelling up and down the path outside our door. It turned out that these were the children of the motel staff, who were on half-term holiday. I did come out of my room to question what was going on and was told by one of the staff "they are only kids!" I think this is a pretty poor attitude towards a paying guest! This spoiled what would have been a perfect stay.

The host was very friendly. Seems like a family run motel. My room was small (I booked a cheaper room on line) bu tit had everything that I needed for 1 night, including fridge, microwave, cutlery, shower products, lots of power points etc. It looked to have been renovated recently so flooring, tiles in bathroom etc. were in good condition. There was lots of hot water and strong pressure which was welcomed after a long drive. There was air con but I didn't use it. As advertised it was 10 minutes walk to the beach or the city. There was a popular fish and chip shop as well as a pizza shop less than 5 mins walk away and within sight of the front door.

Towels were a little thin.

Perfect overnighter as I was enroute north. The room in the cottage although small was all that was needed and it was clean & fresh looking with all the basics. Arrived after hours and the instructions were very clear & simple to follow.

Had to park in the street as our room didn't include parking (which I knew when booking). Most other rooms do have parking. This was no issue as I could park right in front of the hotel and only had a short walk with out bags. The street is quiet with plenty of parking.

No-frills motel, but everything I needed. Spotlessly clean, everything worked, hot shower, comfortable bed with blanket not doona (yay!), friendly staff, convenient location within walking distance of everywhere I needed to go.

I bumped my head on the towel shelf above the towel rail (bent down to dry my face, didn't see the shelf). Turned out the shelf has reasonably sharp metal edges; I got a very minor cut on my scalp. My fault entirely (careless) but maybe the overall arrangement could be improved somehow?

Motel is in a quiet street and the room was ground floor with parking outside the door. Staff responded nicely to an update on our arrival time, and were very friendly and helpful on our arrival. Facility seemed to have been there a while but room interiors were renovated with modern colours and appliances. Quiet one night stay. Comfortable, practical and easy walk to the beach (Town Beach) and town centre. Room had a microwave, small refrigerator, small kitchenette with dishes, cups, glasses and cutlery. Ironing board in room. We were also offered a toaster if we wanted it. Recommend for a short stay.

No onsite or nearby meals, but a short trip to cafes and restaurants.

Excellent location, comfortable room, great value for money and friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy. It had a spacious bathroom and good shower pressure. The provided amenities were generous, including Moccona coffee

The walls were a bit thin, so we could hear the people in the next unit. Hair dryer and toaster were only available on request rather than automatically included with the room. As we arrived in the evening after reception had closed, we had to wait until the next day before we could get those.

The room was clean, comfortable & roomy enough for the two of us. It had what we needed as we were really only using the room to shower & sleep. Tea & coffee making facilities & a microwave with a toaster available from reception if you required it. There is an iron & ironing board & good hanging space. I loved the full length mirror too. Bench space to put suitcases up off the floor was convenient & welcome (no tripping over them if using the bathroom through the night). The towels in the bathroom were soft & fluffy & very absorbent. We found the bed to be very comfy, not to hard or to soft. Overall we enjoyed the room & our stay at Surf Beach Motel.

Nothing that made our stay unpleasant or uncomfortable. Little things that may make a difference to others though, maybe extra pillows in the cupboard. Having said that the pillows were very comfortable! (Hubby usually sleeps on two). The mugs in the kitchenette needed to be washed before we used them.

Seemed newly renovated, and the room was clean and modern. bedlinen was fresh (not old and washed out as seen at other motels) and bed was very comfortable. The lady at the reception was very lovely and friendly, and showed us to the room quickly as my 8yr old son needed the toilet urgently after a long drive.

Generally, I don't understand the concept of "Soap"...it's such a waste to unwrap a soap for one or two nights, for it then to be thrown out. And soap is so messy too. Would be great to see more of those dispensers on shower walls and for hand soap near the sink in Motels/Hotels... We stayed in room 119; there's a very bright spotlight on the concrete fence right outside our window, which was shining into our room at night through the gaps on either side of the blockout curtains... I literally thought it was early morning when I woke up in the middle of the night...

Obviously an older motel but has been renovated in a functional, fresh, clean and attractive manner. Mini kitchen facilities are good. All facilities inside and out are well maintained and clean. Bathroom is fresh and clean. TV is well catered for with all commercial channels plus U-Tube and NETFLIX.

Maybe a better equipped kitchen. Items like a bowl for the microwave, make ice cube trays available, maybe a sharp knife? Everything else was more than adequate.
