Casa Pepe is located in a very authentic spot, vibrant and sometimes crowded but not a problem for us. The common spaces and rooms were nice, we have been able to decide everyday if our room needed to be clean or have new towels which suited perfectly. The luggage storage was very useful, with a very kind staff guy. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to try the hostel activities (due to the price or - in case of the free nice tours - due to our schedules) but I would recommend to try one or maybe for Casa Pepe to have more flexibility on it.

Maybe the room furniture/design is a little bit minimal for a long stay or anyway for the price paid for the private room. Same for the options of the breakfast and lunch.

The place is great! It has a great structure, the bed was really comfy, spacious and the bathrooms were clean. The staff was nice and the location is the best, super close to the Zócalo and to the metro station. I really liked my stay, I would recommend it for sure!

I just wish they would have more activities for guests to interact. I don’t know if I wasn’t lucky but there weren’t many people on the happy hours at the rooftop. Also, I don’t think the breakfast that was included is worth it. It’s just tea or coffee and a toasted bread butter and jam.

The receptionist crew are amazing, super friendly. The showers had hot water and enough washing products, clean towels and clean bed sheets! Also, the activities planned by the hosts are an extra plus!

The bar area located on the 5th floor was my only disappointment. The crew is rude and lacks customer service skills. They gave some of us a very hard time to use our drink vouchers due to technicalities, so I paid a drink and they say they didn’t had change and wanted me to buy another drink to not have to give me any change. I say I needed to go, so all of the sudden they had change and were angry giving me my change and the bartender didn’t have me all of my change, he kept some, I guess he felt he had the authority to tip himself.

Casa Pepe provides an almost boutique environment yet it's a backpacker's hostel. The location could not be better in the heart of Mexico City. The rooftop is a hub of activity and the restaurant there provides excellent food. If you book with breakfast included it's well worth it. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and organise regular outings to events and walking tours that provide a great insight into the city. Opposite reception there is a large room with tables and powerpoints if you are needing to do work or just want to use your laptop in a more formal setting. I've stayed here before and it's always a joy to return and one of the highlights of the trip in terms of accommodation.

It would be difficult to improve on this hostel and it rates as one of the best.

I love the events they hold each and every day, from the Yoga at 8am, guided tour 10:30~12:00, courses 17:00, and more, all for free. I felt much more local here than in hotels, and the both the stuffs and other people stayed there were very friendly. Also, the location was just great, just blocks away to so many places you planned to visit.

It was the other side of the coin when you could enjoy the convenience of living in the center of the city, which was NOICE. It's hard for me to ignore it while slept there almost every night, such as traffic, alarm, construction site, and people even shouted a lot at street...

It is honestly the perfect place for every traveller: they propose a ton of activities, there are opportunities to socialize and meet other people if you want to, it's located right in the city center...

The room was very noisy, but it is to be expected as the accommodation is right in the city center (just be aware of this, 'cause if you are a light sleeper it might be complicated for you to sleep). Another problem was the smell coming from the shower room. I was in a shared room with other people, and the smell coming from there was nasty (I assume it's because it's a very humid room with no windows). I had to put a sign on the door asking to keep it close at all times, as whenever someone left it open our room would reek.

My favorite aspect of the hostel was how well they did at offering events that foster community. For parties, there were plenty of opportunities to go out, and to enjoy the day, there were high-quality walking tours every day. And the volunteers played a huge role in this aspect. I especially had a great experience with one volunteer named Axl, who brought groups together to experience the city’s nightlife, try new foods, see new areas, and make connections that enriched our experiences in the city. It’s people like him that make Casa Pepe an experience worth repeating! Also, the rooftop bar is a very convenient way to have fun and make friends and get food if needed. And the location is nice too, Centro is sometimes a bit busy and loud but has a lot of character and a lot of things to do. Also very safe, at least throughout the day.

There were occasionally some issues with lack of hot water and toilets not working properly. Thankfully, there are a lot of bathrooms available throughout the hostel so I was always able to find at least one that I could use. This was also my first experience staying in a hostel so I’m not entirely sure how it compares to others.

Very friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable bunks in the dorms. Activities arranged by the hostel are really good and frequent, and makes the hostel social in a way that doesn’t rely on evening drinks. Secure, lockers in the dorms and the doorman will remember you and check all is ok.

The dorm’s en suite shower smelled of rot and sewage. No one could enter the room, let alone shower in it. Nothing was done to fix it, and the shared showers across the hall were often locked with an out of use sign on them, making it difficult to get cleaned on an easy schedule.

Great location. The hostel is really in the best location, close to many interesting streets/sights/markets and the metro. It always felt safe to walk around, even at night. Staff are friendly. Great suite of activities all week. Easy to meet people but not super loud. They were kind to allow early check in.

The traffic whistles early in the morning may wake up anyone but the soundest sleepers. I also found my private room a bit dark—it would have been great to have some kind of night reading light. Instead the lighting for the room was too dim at night. It also took a long time to resolve with the restaurant that my reservation included breakfast, and I had to shuttle between the reception and the restaurant multiple times since they seemed to have difficulty communicating with each other. I found this a bit frustrating but it probably won’t happen to most people.

We had a room with private bathroom, it was a great Hostel feeling with benefits! Great location right in the center of the city and perfect to explore everywhere, nice program and activities offered at the reception. We did the Air Balloon and it was amazing! Food and drinks are also very good!

Our twin bed was a bit hard, but we are very demanding regarding sleeping so may be that bed would be very good for most of people. I asked several time for a haie dryer and it was always already reserved from other guests.. may be stocking a couple of more of them could be helpful.
