Great location, close to Paddington station, cosy, if dated, rooms.
Breakfast times too regimented, no lift to third floor room, steep and narrow stairs. We managed, however , older, less mobile people would struggle severely. If booking here, try and get lower level room.

The staff were very helpful and very friendly. The complimentary continental breakfast was a good start to the day. Location was great a few minutes walk from Padding station and the underground. The Central line was just a few minutes walk to Lancaster Gate also. Hyde Park is right on your door step. Tghey also stored our Luggage in reception for us on our last day as our flight home wasn't until 9pm that evening.
The only thing I wasn't happy with were the Pillows. I found them to be quite hard. It didnt' stop me from getting to sleep but it take me a longer than usual to get comfortable. But that is just a personal preference for meas some folks will prefer a firmer pillow.

I liked the dual aspect of my room - I booked a double as a treat, just for me - and it was very quiet, at the back of the hotel, overlooking a private courtyard. The bed was comfy and the breakfast good. The Columbus is really a B&B as there is no evening meal facility or lounge / bar but there are plenty of good eateries a couple of minutes' walk away in London Street, including an Italian and a old fashioned style fish and chip cafe. The staff at the Columbus are very efficient and friendly.
I felt a bit uneasy on my last night - there is no concierge on site between 10.30 p.m. and around 7.00 a.m. and I was woken by a loud crashing outside my bedroom door, as though someone was rummaging in a cupboard in the corridor. My room was on the ground floor and I had to assume it was another guest rolling in somewhat the worse for wear (it was 4.00 a.m.) and struggling to find his / her room... I could have rung the parent hotel across the street but decided just to sit tight and wait for the noise to abate, which it finally did. As a lone woman traveller, however, this might be the deal breaker for me in respect of another stay at the hotel, alas.

The staff were great. Checkin was efficient, Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but plenty (toast, jams, cerials, ham, cheese, croissants etc along with a coffee machine), and the guy that was serving worked very hard to make sure everyone was ok. You book your breakfast slot at checkin so they hopefully can manage the flow of guests efficiently. Location was good, in a nice area pretty close to Paddington Station & tube, and just a very short distance from bars, restaurants and convenience shops (and Hyde Park close by). We'd definitely stop here again for a short London break.
The negatives have to be set against the price paid, which against similar priced hotels in london, and this one is way above their standard! There is no lift and we were on 3rd floor, so carrying a 25kg case up along with the other 2 10kg cases was interesting. Room and bathroom are compact, but if looking for a short break with minimal luggage, its about right.

First of all, the location of the hotel was incredibly convenient. The Paddington underground station is right around the corner. Taking the Elizabeth line from here, you could easily get to both the Heathrow airport and the centre of London. As for the Hotel itself, it was exceptionally clean and comfy with spacious rooms.
Honestly, there is not enough to say, but there are some things I have to point out. It's quite baffling to me that the available hours that breakfast is served are only at 8 and 9 am. In my book, it should also be available at 7 and 10 am. Last, I have to point out that there was no fridge in our room, which is very problematic if you carry medication that needs refrigeration.

The location was perfect for public transportation and to visit Hyde park. The room was nice, clean and private, and the staff were incredibly nice and thoughtful. They let us check in in the morning (around 10) and rest after our flight when we were supposed to come only in the afternoom. Also brought us vegan milk for breakfast. The breakfast is very basic and nice, I wish it had some fruit/vegetable.
The shower is very small and the room could use some basic equipment like hair dryer and coat hangers. Door was difficult to lock and some of the lights were weird.

The friendly staff member who made me feel very welcome as soon as I arrived. I was over an hour early, but he showed me my room after he checked it had been serviced. This enabled me an additional hour or so in a pub. Always grateful for such opportunities! I don't remember his name, but he is originally from New Zealand. He should be regarded as a valued member of staff. Thank you.
Nothing.

The hotel has a very boutique hotel vibe - small and personal. The rooms had everything that you would need for a short break away. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble - shout out to Thomas on Reception who was brilliant! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!
Nothing it was fabulous!

The location was very convenient for sightseeing, the area felt very safe and the hotel was great value for money. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was a bonus when considering a budget option. The beds were comfy, too.
The bathroom was small and the shower might be a bit cramped if you are tall

The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom could have been bigger, but we were only there for 1 night so it was fine. Staff were friendly
There was no lift, we were right at the top, alot of stairs to climb, luckily we only had holdalls to carry up
