The staff was wonderful and very quick to respond to us! The location was great, outside of the main tourist area but still very close walking distance to main attractions. The immediate area has a lot of great restaurants and cool spots to visit, as well. The hotel was clean and private and we felt super safe staying here! Bonus that it’s super close to the train station which made travel super easy!

This is not a negative about the hotel, but i guess there is a time of year when the central A/C stops running. We had the A/C turned on because we weren’t aware and it was pumping hot air into the room until we asked about it and were told it isn’t possible to turn it on at this time of year (October). it just made the stay a bit less pleasant as we had to keep the window open to cool down the room and there were loud noises outside through the night. Truly not a negative about the hotel, but If you run hot like we do, I’d double check with the hotel before booking :) otherwise everything is lovely!

The landlady is very kind and gentle, and everything was perfect. During check-in and checkout, Ale and her staff not only helped us carry our luggage to the hotel, but also explained all the nearby attractions when handing over the keys, including restaurants, gelato shops, markets, and local spots, all of which were well worth visiting. Moreover, the hotel has a common area for guests to enjoy tea, snacks, and chat. Even if you send a WhatsApp message to the landlady late at night, she will reply immediately. Everything exceeded our expectations. It’s my favorite accommodation in Italy.

I was a bit nervous after reading some reviews but honestly, this place exceeded my expectations given the price. Alejandra was amazing - great at communicating with us and providing all the information we needed to enjoy our stay in Florence, and even doing some washing for our friends who were also staying at the property! She also assisted us with sending some excess stuff back home to Australia. Absolutely went above and beyond to help. We were very comfortable in room 11 which had an ensuite. Another reviewer mentioned that room 11 had no blinds and the sun entered the room in the morning - however I can confirm that there are shutters on the outside of the window that can be closed from inside.

This was not a problem for us, but be aware that there is no lift - if you are arriving late you will need to carry your luggage up 49 stairs.

Staff (Alex) was very nice and helpful. There was cold water stocked fresh in the fridge every day, along with other amenities such as tea kettle, silverware, Nespresso machine, and ice. These small details really went a long way towards making our stay comfortable. Even though it was located on a busier street with lots of restaurants, the windows were completely soundproof. The room itself was also very cozy and made it easy to relax after a long day.

The shower was a bit tight, through no fault of the hotel.

We had a great stay, fantastic value for money, location and a very friendly welcome! We would definitely recommend! The room was spotless and very comfortable , and Ale (the owner) was extremely helpful on arrival, and is an exceptional and kind host. There is plenty of tea, coffee and snacks and a microwave and fridge available. We also had help carrying our suitcase up the stairs (the hotel is on the second floor) which was a lovely touch. Will be recommending and coming back if ever in Florence again!

Owners were extremely helpful in giving us tips and guidance. Rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless, location is great, near the train station but also not too far from the centrum, free coffee, cookies and candy. Great stay overall. Would definitely come back.

If we need to mention one negative point, just informative: The rooms and the bed are a bit small (my feet were sticking out during the night (1m87) but that didn't really impact my sleep, I slept like a baby on the firm matress.) Room size I think is normal for Florence at that price, so it was not really unexpected. Price quality is very good in our opinion. No dealbreakers for us, but large people be advised.

The room was cozy, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The location was ideal for just about everything I wanted to do. Ale's detailed, knowledgeable recommendations for eating and sightseeing were a big plus.

Everything was great, honestly. I couldn't figure out how to open the shutters to get more outside light. I probably should have brought slippers for journeys to the bathroom down the hall. Neither was the hotel's fault.

The location was great and the street was very quiet; the bed was very comfortable too! I really appreciated the little touches, like providing enough hangers and hooks in the room and the bathroom, plus a basket in the shower for shampoo, and even a hairdryer holder (!). It amazes me how many hotels don’t have hooks or shelves - such small things really make a big difference. And even though breakfast wasn’t included, all I need in the morning is an espresso and biscuits, so their coffee/tea corner was just perfect! I would definitely stay here again. Paolo and Alejandra were lovely and provided me with all the information to get into the hotel, since I arrived quite late. Sometimes self check-ins are weird, but I wasn’t worried at all since even via WhatsApp I could tell how nice the owners were.

The staff/owners we all very friendly and took the time to show us the layout of the city on the map. The air conditioning was amazing, the hotel was very clean and comfortable. We had the separate private bathroom down the corridor and not attached to the room. At the times we were going for a shower (sometimes up to 3 times a day due to the 37 degree heat of July) we did not bump into anyone in the corridor. This was very private. We used a packet of wet wipes in our room to wash our hands after applying sun cream so we did not feel this was a hassle having a separate bathroom. The hairdryer was very powerful so no need to take your own. There was lovely facilities in the corridor….coffee, tea, water and biscuits. This was a lovely touch. The location was perfect. We were one street after from the market, including the food market. There were plenty of bars and restaurants around. A lovely craft beer kitchen too. This made my husband very happy! It is around 10 minutes walk from the train station and a supermarket around 5 minutes walk.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Nella in a fantastic location that provided a comfortable and enjoyable experience overall. While there were a few drawbacks, particularly related to soundproofing, my partner found it challenging to get a good night's sleep. However, as an individual, I didn't encounter the same issue and found my stay to be satisfactory. The location of the hotel was truly superb, situated conveniently close to popular tourist spots, shopping areas, and public transportation. It made exploring the city effortless and allowed us to make the most of our time. Our room was clean, well-maintained, and offered a decent amount of space for our needs. The bed was comfortable.

However, the hotel's soundproofing left much to be desired. The noise from neighboring rooms seeped into our space, which affected my partner's ability to sleep peacefully. This issue was disappointing and definitely impacted our overall experience. It would be beneficial for the management to address this concern and improve the soundproofing in the rooms to provide a more restful environment for all guests.
