The property was in a great location and was very easy to find. It also had free onsite parking behind which was a bonus for us as we had hired a car for our trip. Upon checking in, the apartment was incredibly clean and in great shape. The decor felt new and modern but also really warm and cosy. Heating was very effective and easy to use as were the appliances in the kitchen. Our host, Steinunn, was very accommodating and helpful.
The only downside for us was the kitchen size. It was quite small for us and we would struggle to make dinner whilst cutting up vegetables etc - however if you aren’t going to use kitchen to make dinner then this wouldn’t be an issue.

Host was a great coomicator with us and responsive before and during the stay. Location provided easy walking access to dining, activities, grocery and transportation. We loved that they brought us clean towels every 2 days, nice surprise. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had nice selection of basics and supplies we assume we're left by other guests (salt, pepper, coffee, olive oil). Clean and neat. Great wifi and handy travel recommendations for food and activities.
We were unprepared for the amount of street noise, traffic and people, very late into the night and early morning hours. However, this was only a sleeping issue for 1 of the 3 bedrooms and wasn't disruptive to conversations or visiting in the evenings.

Great location, right next to the shopping street. All interesting locations are at a min walk (rainbowstreet, shopping street, hallgrimskirkja, sun voyager, ...). The house with 3 rooms is actually a duplex apartment. There is another apartment in the basement. But it is a charming house, typically Reykjavik style. All basic necessities were available in the kitchen. Also fantastic that we could park our rental right behind the house as for us it was very confusing where parking was free of paid and we heard parking in Reykjavik was very expensive.
The house is typical Icelandic, but this means that the walls are thin and the floors are in wood and a lot of noise comes through when people talk outside or in a different room or walk inside the house. We could also hear the people in the basement apartment talking and were constantly wondering how much we were disturbing them walking above them on the wooden floor.

The property was perfect for our family of 4. The home had everything that a traveler would need. Parking directly behind the building was a big plus. The location was ideal since we could walk to nearby attractions, restaurants and shops.
Nothing that we could think of.

The communication with the owner prior to and during our visit was excellent. We were a family of three generations -- 11 people total, and we rented three separate apartments at Old Charm Reykjavik Apartments. Each had a newish kitchen; two had what appeared to be original wood floors (serviceable but squeaky and no varnish/protective coating on them. One of the apartments had what appeared to be new floors (probably LVP or laminate). All three had newish , clean kitchens with plenty of dishes and new appliances. The location was perfect for our needs as it was walkable to everything we wanted to do in the city: cafes, bars, shopping, the harbor, Harpa, the Lava Show, Rainbow Road, and the City Walk tour.
The location is ideally located; however, because of that, it was also noisy at night, especially on the weekends, due to late closing bars and loud talkers walking by. It was also noisy during the weekdays due to a lot of nearby construction. Having said that, we would not have wanted to stay farther from the city, so we are very happy with our choice.

The apartment is really nice, two decent sized bedrooms and both a kitchen and relaxing space. It's a little difficult to find, even with the detailed directions provided by the host. It's not an apartment block, rather a detached house at the end of the street. You are only 30m from the main shopping street and the area is very secure. Parking might be a problem during the working week unless you secure the slot that attaches to the house. The host is very receptive and helpful. Wifi is pretty good at about 70mbps. The bathroom is large and well appointed. The kitchen has everything necessary for self catering and not cramped.
Directions to the house are detailed, but it still took us 20 minutes on foot to find it. Walk up the street indicated, it's the last house on your right and pale green in colour. Damn steep steps up to the top floor of the house.

The location was perfect, right behind the main street with shops, restaurants and cafes and a 5 min walk from downtown Reykjavik, but not noisy from the road at all. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed, and very cosy and warm. Great communication from the host who ensured we were happy with everything. The parking area at the back of the property was very useful too, certainly big enough and saved us having to park on the road. We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend!

This is a perfect base for Reykjavik. The apartment is less then a 10 min walk to all the attractions we visited. It is also only a 2 min walk from a bus stop (these are used by all the tour operators not just public buses). It was perfect for our family and for the cost a lovely find. Whilst you are in the city centre, we didn't find the apartment noisy.
The apartment is lovely and the contact from the host is spot on. If we return to Reykjavik, we will be checking to see if this apartment is available first.

The location of the apartment was perfect! Incredibly central and cosy. The beds were comfortable and it had a cosy seating area. Having a parking spot in the centre was also very appreciated.
The apartment is on the first floor and the stairs are quite steep. It was not so easy to bring the suitcases upstairs and then bring them down in the morning. It is great to have parking, but it is a bit tricky if there is already one car there.
