Great modern hotel located just up from the station. Easy walk across to the old town and important sightseeing locations. Blackout curtains and modern comfortable beds and not tatami made for our first deep sleeps of the holiday! Room design was very clever and fitting a family of four with two teenagers into one room was very simple.

The hotel does not look after bags after checkout. This is very inconvenient and inconsistent with the other hotels we stayed in throughout Japan. It would be good if this policy could be revisited.

This is a chic, modern hotel that exudes a cool & chill vibe. We were pleasantly surprised when our family of 4 were upgraded to a big & spacious room for 6 - the kids were delighted with the very comfortable & cozy bunk beds. Much thought has gone into the tasteful design & lighting of the room (& for that matter, the whole hotel), which is stylish & aesthetically pleasing, while being functional & comfortable at the same time. There is a nice sofa set with a big oval table in the room, which was great for our nightly suppers! It is also the only hotel we came across in Japan during our 2-week vacation, which has a big standing shower (the other 7 hotels we stayed in, have bathrooms that are designed more for sitting while showering). Location is ideal - about 4-5 minutes walk from the Takayama train station, a 15-minute walk from the Takayama old streets & a 1-minute walk from Family Mart to purchase our supper.

As feedback for improvement, it would be great if the hotel provided reminders to the hotel guests to promptly remove their laundry once done (in 2 hours for the standard washing cum dryer setting), to prevent other guests from having to wait for a long time for one of the 3 coin-operated washing machines (which accept 100 yen coins) in the laundry area (you have to key in a passcode to get your laundry out, hence others are not able to take it out for you).

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family of three, marking our second experience with FAV Hotels, and we loved both stays! The location is superb, with train and bus stations just a few doors down, making it easy to catch transportation to Shirakawa-go. We stayed in the room with a bath overlooking the city and has a balcony which is an added bonus. We enjoyed the short 10-minute walk to the charming old town and local markets, which added to our exploration of the area. Our room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, providing all the comfort we needed. The amenities were top-notch, enhancing our overall experience.

The only downside is we borrowed the iron from the reception but they didn’t have ironing board.

Great location near the station and down the end of the central shopping street filled with restaurants and shops, only 5 mins walk from the old town. We had a great room on the top floor with a sensational view across Takayama towards the old town and the temples on the hills, with the snowy peaks in the background. The room was a nice size with the most comfy futons we’ve ever had. Check-in was easy and using QR code not a key or card made it so easy! Fav branded drip coffee was really nice too!

Not really any complaints. There was some confusion about changing the sheets but maybe because we folded the futons up and left all the sheets in a folded pile. Otherwise nothing negative!

We have spent 4 weeks in Japan, staying in various hotels. This by far exceeded all of our expectations. The in room bath and sauna was absolutely amazing and a huge welcome when returning from being in snow all day. The bathroom was such a hit that our family needed to have our own 'roster' 🤣 The hotel is located perfectly close to the train station and a 7 minute walk to Old Town. We have already decided to come back to Takayama and stay for 2 weeks.

The breakfast that we had ordered, in our opinion was not worth the money. There were only three options yoghurt, a salad roll and crocmoseieu. This was the only negative thing about our stay

Such a wonderful hotel, located just 2 minutes walk from Nohi bus station (for those who go to Shirakawa go), family mart and many restaurants very close as well. The room came with a nice view of the city and breakfast which was a set menu - choose from 3 options+ hot/cold drink, nice way to begin your day. We came for the festival and walked on foot there (not far at all and a nice walk). Room was very clean, big enough for a family of 6. Bunk beds were big and spacious (important if your kids are tall). Staff was extremely welcoming, always smiling and greeting us whenever we came in. Any accessory you could think of was down waiting at the lobby - just grab it. Laundry room very efficient and clean, could be bigger. all in all - Highly recommended.

The room was expensive but it was very big,clean and confortable. Nothing to complain.

The hotel couldn't keep our luggages for 2 hours after checkout. The unique hotel in Japan that I stayed that denied this simple request.

I must commend on their staff Miss Yui Ooe who has been very helpful to accommodate us on the change of Japanese style room to western style room because we were suffering from backaches and knee pain after one night stay in the Japanese style room. We are an old couple. Mr Tanaka, their manager also helped to resolve the issue with booking.com because we were advised to rebook new room and cancel the Japanese style room without being charged for the cancellation fee as Fav will waive it. That’s a plus point for Fav as they help situation where their guests face a challenging situation. Overall, we are impressed by them, however, they don’t have soft pillow, hence didn’t rest well every night(booked for 3nights) because pillow was hard form me. Location of hotel is very close to the Takayama train station, very convenient.

No soft pillows, hence, didn’t tget to sleep well (booked for 3nights). That’s the negative part. Hope they will provide soft pillows for their guests who need them to rest well

The location and facilities are fantastic. It’s just a 3-minute walk to the bus station, and a Family Mart is only 20 meters down the road. The room is spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities you could need. Plus, even though it’s a hotel, our room had cooking facilities, which was a nice bonus! The only thing missing is a laundry machine. The girl at the June Cafe was wonderful. When she found out we were in a hurry, she quickly prepared our breakfast so we could take it with us before their usual opening time of 7 am.

The reason I didn’t rate this hotel a perfect 10/10 is because of the front desk staff. Service plays a key role in creating the first impression of a hotel, and unfortunately, it fell short here.

There is a male staff very bad service, never see a Japanese service so arrogant. I mention we wanna left luggage, he is giving like the attitude he don’t care. Never mentioned need to give us a tag or sth just left. It was a red flag of the attitude already. But when we come back to pick up the luggage. We said “hi! We would like to pick up the luggage. He give a face and knock his head acting like approve us to go get our own luggage. Which he did! He don’t help or anything, just sit there and play his phone. What a bad service and attitude
