The beds were really comfortable. I also enjoyed the capsule style rooms. It felt quite private with the curtain closed. After a chilly day outside, the hostel itself was an all around cozy place to come back to. It also had a really convenient location near the station, a convenience store, and some restaurants.

There were not many toilets or showers. If the place had been fully booked that might have been a problem.

I stayed with the family at K's House Takayama Oasis for my last vacation trip to Japan and I would rate this Hostel amongst the best hostels I've been around. Location is superb, rooms are cozy (small but cozy), facilities (kitchen, common areas and laundry) are great and employees are excellent. I would definitively consider this location for a trip in Japan. It was so good that I would even consider changing some of my other hotels and hostels around Japan to facilities part of the K's network.

Hard to say what I don't like as our experience was great. Maybe a couple of chairs more in the rooftop?

The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Common area is very clean and comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and free (good) coffee in the morning is a definite bonus. Room (private) is clean and well proportioned with a decent bathroom.

The hotel staff and location were exceptional. The staff was attentive and friendly, always available to answer our questions. We were also able to leave our suitcases at the hotel. The location is very central, just a short distance from the station, yet situated on a quiet street. Our room was quite spacious, the largest we experienced in Japan. The common areas, including the kitchen and living room, were consistently clean and accessible. It was a nice surprise to be offered laundry service since we stayed for more than three nights. We celebrated New Year's Eve there, and they even provided sake for us to toast with. It was truly lovely! Thank you very much!

The room's acoustics were not very good. We were situated next to the lift, and the noisy family next door didn’t help us have quiet nights. Despite this, we still loved the place and would be happy to come back.

The location is good, about 3-5min walk to the Takayama train station. The kitchen and lounge area are open 24/7. You can use the laundry facilities (washing and drying) for 500 yen each time. There is a small elevator to help bring the luggages up to your floor (which can be a god-send) but the reception is at level 2 so you will still need to carry the luggages up one level first. Staff are friendly and most of the facilities are well thought of.

The pillow is really flat (for me). We had the double bunk bed room with private bathroom and the room is a little small for us (but typical of Japanese hostel/hotel).

Fantastic place to stay for the price. 2 minutes walk from the train station and bus terminal for day trips (the whole of Takayama is easily walkable). Amenities far surpassed expectations – pantry (free coffee and tea), washroom, beds. free bicycle and umbrella rental. They even have a shoe dryer machine near the roof. Their dryer was one of the rare ones that dried my clothes properly without shrinking them (big ask from most hostels xd) Staff were accommodating and friendly, giving good recommendations and the most up to date info. Would definitely like to stay here again when I'm back in Takayama.

We booked a double private room with private bathroom. The room was very spacious and everything was in good condition. The person attending to us was very friendly and provided us with good information to go about the town. We particularly love that we could go to the roof to enjoy the weather and see the mountains from far away during a clear day. It was really fun to have a beer out in the cold on the roof too. They provided a lot of amenities that made a budget stay really convenient. They even have shoe dryer and bicycle rental. The location is only less than 10 min walk from Takayama Station and very near to Nohi Bus Center too where you join the bus tours to surrounding cities.

The fact that the reception and lounge area was on the first floor, we had to carry our heavy luggage up the stairs. You only have access to the lift from first floor onwards.

The location is great and really close to the main station, a few minutes' walk which makes everything really easy. The common area is very nice, and you can easily meet new friends. The staff was amazing, Nick was so helpful. I told him that they told me at the info of Nohi Bus Station that there is no direct bus to Kamikuchi. He was sure there is, so he actually went to the info to check this! And not only that, the day after, I had no place to sleep. Everything was booked, and he was so kind and gave me recommendations of other places I can check, maybe with an available room. Chi was really sweet too. They even agreed to keep my stuff until the evening on the day I checked out. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable."

I would put a brush by the toilet so if you make it dirty, you can clean it yourself. Another thing I would add to the room key is a rubber band, so it will be easy to go to the shower/toilet without losing your key on the way.

This little Hotel /Hostel is amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and forthcoming. They did help in all things (I could even leave my suitcase for some time after my stay which is not happening in all places because of the space). The kitchen is very clean. You can cook your meal. The living room area is very cozy and well designed, the rooms are small, but very clean and especially the Tatami room was a beautiful experience. The Hotel is right in the heart of Takayama so it is a very good base for exploring the city and definitely worth coming back. Thanks to the staff members for making my stay so easy and lovely!

A beautiful Japanese style hotel, we got the Japanese room! It's definitely one of the best experience we had in Japan! Staff was amazing, super friendly, spoke english very well. The common area was great to hangout at, and the kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. There's washer and dryer if you need to wash your clothes. The rooftop was great, we went up there twice a day. The room is nice and clean, everything works perfectly.

There is no bidet in the toilet :( The bathroom is quite small for a 4-person room.
