The hotel is in a wonderful, quiet, clean and friendly location. It was an easy walk from central Edinburgh. The room was changed to a lower floor with access to a large bath , to allow for increased comfort and accessibility whilst I managed a broken leg and back. The suit was clean and the bed was comfortable. The window let in a wonderful amount of light and the flag billowing on the balcony made my stay all-the-more cheerful !!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Only 1 radiator was working , which made the room chilly all night. I used the extra blanket but woke up cold and sore. I decided to make good use of a hot bath before I left. The bar was shut during my stay but the reception staff did allow me to purchase a cold drink. I would recommend that a staff member be available at the property during the night. There is no staff available on site at all after 10pm if I recall correctly. This leaves the owners open to serious issues of neglect of duty of care and prosecutions should something occur over night and resident/s hurt.

Comfortable rooms, good facilities, excellent location and friendly helpful staff.

As it's an old building, there is no lift, so it was a struggle getting up to our room on the second floor, but as I was prepared for this, it wasn't a huge problem. Our room was not serviced for our second night. The lad on reception was very apologetic and was very quick to give us new supplies for the morning cuppa, Maybe a little bit of a freshen up of the bathroom, sealant around the shower base, and the grouting were a bit grubby.

From the moment we stepped into this hotel, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome - Andrew you are a STAR! Their warmth and hospitality set the tone for a wonderful stay. The building itself is over 300 years old, which adds a unique and charming vibe to the experience. You can feel the history in every corner, and it truly enhances the ambiance. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. As for the room, it was nothing short of fabulous. Spacious, well-appointed, and with a perfect blend of modern amenities and historic charm. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay!

What I liked most about the accommodation was the hospitality of the hotel workers, it is a simple hotel, but very attentive and friendly, also the good connection it has to the centre of Edinburgh, it is great to get a little out of the centre, and the 20-minute walk thanks, especially because on the way you can find cafes and you can start your day in a more cheerful way.

The hotel is lovely, very cute old fashioned but super clean. The room is big and the beds are very comfortable, also the shower very hot. Staff was very kind and location is great, walkable 30min to bus station and close to other bus stops. There was nice breakfast for $9, I didn't opt because I didn't know before, so brought my stuff and there was tea/coffee appliances in the room.

Nothing to complain about, UK is on average expensive, but for the medium prices this hotel was awesome! The only thing is that the outlets are UK pattern and don't fit to rest of Europe, but once you use the shaver it's fine.

Location was great - about a half-mile in a quiet neighborhood into the city. Being a few blocks from the tram made getting to the airport a snap! Breakfasts were not included, but you could purchase a morning meal - we chose not to (which was a mistake as it was far cheaper than getting breakfast out!)

Only that the room was on the top floor (4th or 5th) with no lift - not a problem for us, but could be for other seniors or people with mobility issues.

The staff were so friendly, especially Andrew who worked the morning shift. He was so helpful, suggesting different things to do and see in Edinburgh. Breakfast was a continental buffet breakfast but so filling and replenished regularly. The room was stunning, huge ceilings and antique, beautiful furniture. We loved our stay here.

Just a wonderful, charming spot. Great staff, great breakfast, lovely little building, and they UPGRADED MY ROOM! Just because I was so polite about waiting patiently for my room to be ready. There was another room available and rather than just watch me sit in the lobby, they went ahead and upgraded me for the night. GENIUS.

I wish my room hadn't been on the very top floor. But at least I got exercise. Gotta look on the bright side right? No real complaints. Just lots and lots of stairs. Phew. Elevators are for wimps anyway.

Room was very nice sized for the 4 of us. Pullout couch was more comfortable than I thought it would be. Great location with a lot of restaurants nearby.

Parking can be a bit of a hassle, we did rent the available parking spot. Luckily we drive professionally, as its a bit of a tight squeeze. Keep this in mind if your car is a bit wider. Otherwise all street parking is paid or by residential permit only.

The room was a good size with a window overlooking Edinburgh rooftops. Friendly chat with the cleaner. Location perfect for my needs and not too expensive for a one night stay. Comfortable and clean.

Paid for breakfast but some items had run out and were not topped up or done quickly enough. Arrived at 1am and because it was my 2nd night in the UK, I did not know that I had to turn the heating on for the shower (we don't have this where I live), so ended up having a cold half-shower, which was not ideal after a pretty hectic and long trip to get there. If it had been explained explicitly, or with a sign up in the bathroom itself, it would have been great. I would also love to have had a heads up that I was on the top floor (being so weary and having to deal with my own luggage with self-check-in at 1am). I didn't think to ask the question when booking...
