Carole is an excellent host! She provided us everything we needed. It was a lovely experience meeting her and staying at hers. Great location, fantastic views and incredibly stylish!! I will be back for sure! Thanks Carole!!

Nothing to dislike!

We loved it! Carole is the most welcoming host, she really made our stay special and we're so grateful for all the care we received. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished, the bed is huge and very comfortable. There's a lovely space on the top floor of the house with great views of the city. Location is perfect for exploring all the main sights. Having stayed in many hotels and B&Bs over the years, this is the one that stands out and we'll definitely remember. Thank you, Carole, for making my mother's birthday trip special!

We have no complaints.

There isn't enough space to tell about everything that is exceptional about the accommodations and the hostess. Location, location, location. But so much more. You're made to feel like one of the family lucky enough to spend time in this restored Georgian home. Breakfast every morning was so much more than a continental breakfast. The spectacular view from the top floor, the comfortable ambiance of the bedroom, the furnishings! All amazing. I look forward to returning to this location and have passed along the recommendations to family members and friends. Thank- you Carol, for making our stay in Edinburgh so memorable.

We're disappointed that we only booked for 4 nights and had to leave Edinburgh and this guest home behind!

Loved the house, exceeded my expectations, Carol (and family) were lovely (not imposing, simply if I ran into them), made extra special by hosts catering for my special dietary requirements which I did not expect (even packed me a lunch on an early morning excursion). The view from the top floors and conservatory look out (with telescope) especially as the sun set was stunning with ample room/s to spread out and relax. Super quiet room/house. Deluxe room bigger than the photos show. Highly recommend, would love to return.

I really loved the location. A gorgeous view from the big windows to a magnificent park and bridge, to beautiful buildings. It was luxurious. The room and bathroom were big and super cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I liked Carole who was really nice. Very good breakfast. As we left very early in the morning to the airport she prepared a lot of things for us to take away to eat. She also advised us on a restaurant and provided a map. She invited us to go on the roof floor where we could admire even more the beautiful view from the roof and the attic very cozy and nicely furnished. It was also rather close to the city centre and main tourist objectives. Restaurants and shops close to the flat.

It is a beautiful building but for people with mobility disabilities it is not advisable because it has no elevator and there are a lot of stairs. For us, there was no problem.

You get a stunning room in an incredible large Georgian house that is exceptionally well maintained. Centrally located with only a 10 min walk to the Castle entrance. Large spacious bedroom was immaculate. Private bathroom with modern spotlessly clean shower. Carole is the most kind and accommodating host we have ever come across. We felt like a guest in her beautiful home, although she was not intrusive and our room was very private. Communal kitchen and lounge were homely and tastefully decorated. The continental breakfast was generous and the produce fresh and delicious. Although Carole's cooked breakfast for a little more is the best breakfast in Edinburgh by far! Incredibly, free WiFi and Netflix are included in the price. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Carole 😊

Having to leave

Carol and George were the best hosts to have. They made us feel like part of the family and were always up for a chat. This stay wouldn’t have been as special without them. They also provided us with great tips on where to go and what to eat. The location is great and really central. The room was absolutely beautiful and had a stunning view. The breakfast was also very delicious. We‘re definitely staying here again when we come to Edinburgh!

This was the best accomodation that we had during our trip. The location is perfect, the house is beautiful, the room is a generous size, the view is spectacular and our host Carol is amazing. We were warmly welcomed and given great advice and tips on what to do, where to go and how to get there. I felt like I was at home. I highly recommend staying at West End Townhouse. Thank you Carol, hopefully I’ll get to Edinburgh again in the near future and come to stay again!

I loved our stay at West End Townhouse and would really recommend others who visit Edinburgh to stay there. The landlady Carole and her family is so welcoming and friendly. The room had an extraordinary view of the city! The area is really nice, plenty of good restaurants, pubs and shops, and on the same time on a nice (walking) distance from the touristic and overcrowded city center.

The room was large and very well presented. We had an amazing view of the Water of Leith and beyond to the Firth of Forth. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Carole was very accomodating with regard to any individual requests.

It would be nice to have two comfortable chairs to look out over the view. The one provided was a beautiful piece of furniture but less practical for two people.
