The friendliness of the staff is excellent and the Suit I stayed in is very beautiful and well decorated.
I was a little disappointed when it came to cleaning. The lamps were quite dusty and the bottle of bath gel from the previous gest was still in the shower. For those who have problems sleeping with noise, it really isn't a good place to stay, as it is right on the corner of 2 streets with a lot of traffic from cars and trucks, so you will hear noise all night. I don't think there's much that can be done about this since it's a very old building.

Fine for our one-night stopover (2 adults, 2 kids) but wouldn’t rush back for a longer stay. The bed was very comfortable. Didn’t require it, but having a microwave is a nice bonus.
After first impressions, it all felt a bit unloved. Used tissues between the pillows and headboard, one towel for 4 guests, sofas more suited to a waiting room than a lounge and the covers of one were falling off, tumblers only in the kitchenette cupboards. Only having one key was inconvenient. 90% there, and I’m sure of the owners can spend a night in the room they would quickly rectify the missing 10%

The room was just so quirky, with what I assume was a huge chimney coming up through it. It gave it real character, and I loved it. The staff were so helpful, and were very accommodating with he storage of my bicycle. The clock tower right outside my bedroom, was again another positive with regard to the view, and the period feeling of the place. Just be aware it does strike the hour every hour though, right through the night also.
The novelty of the clock hour strikes wore off a little by 4am..

The room was just the sort we liked, non standard, quirky features and individualistic. The facilities were fine and the room clean. There was some vehicle noise in the early morning but we expected that due to the location and it is beyond the staffs control. We had breakfast at Ty Morgan's and that was excellent the staff were friendly, especially the chef. There was plenty of choice and the eating area is comfortable and light.
There was nothing I did not like. I researched the premises and location prior to booking so there were no surprises. The evening meal at The Crown was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food tasty and plentiful. The steak and ale pie was a genuine home made one with superb pastry and filling.

I have been coming to Rhayader for over 40 years, and this is my second stay at Ty Morgans - So I am well aware of the clock & traffic - neither bother me (white noise is the answer). The room was comfortable and clean, exactly what you would expect for the buildings age and price. It was an excellent base for me and my little boy. The staff were exceptional, friendly and polite, and extremely hard working. Breakfast was gorgeous on all 3 mornings, and we enjoyed a great meal at the Crown, with excellent service and lovely home cooked food. I will definitely be staying again.

Clean, quirky, room in ideal location with all facilities required for a very good price, Very quiet, well decorated with coffee and tea in the room which today is a bonus. I would far prefer to knock my head on an exposed beam than sleep in a plain white box with no character.
very little to dislike, only comment... On arriving i asked if my friends could have a coffee, the 1st receptionist said yes then a second receptionist said no. Unfortunate contradiction between staff.

Great central location in the centre of the village. Fab restaurant on site and good sized room. Dog friendly. Excellent value for money
The only slight issue was the noise of the church bells chiming on the hour, every hour! Appreciate this is completely outside the control of the hotel but as it was so hot, had to leave the window open all night and therefore was very loud! A fan would be a great addition for hot summer nights.

Fantastic character to the rooms, very uniquely designed and furnished. Comfy beds. Breakfast was served super fast in the cafe downstairs. A few pubs to choose from for your evening meal, all 2 minutes walk away. We ate in The Crown, it was a lovely meal in a traditional pup with as much character as the rooms we stayed in.

Just perfect. Everything was excellent. Friendly and very helpful staff. Nothing was a problem. Room was a good size with ample tea and coffee. Centred in the middle of Rhayader the hotel meant getting around very easy. I travelled with a bicycle and there was a great locked up shed to placed it overnight. I had an evening meal at the hotels bistro (Fridays and weekends) which was super. Breakfast was equally super.
I cannot fault the hotel

large clean and comfortable room, conveniently located in the centre of town. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and even managed to find a place to park my motorbike
My room was right next to the road but was fine when the roads quieten down. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear your neighbours moving around but again things quieten down at night and I manage to get a good nights sleep
