The location was great, the rooms were very pretty and seemed freshly renovated. Only about 10min walking distance to the city center, and 1min to Kjarvalsstadir Art Museum. I liked the free parking lots in front and behind the building. Also, you don't need a key, because the building and the rooms have digit keypads, which is great! Our room had a small kitchen and toilet/bathroom with everything you may need - hair dryer, toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine (capsules), dishwasher, stove, baking oven. Also a small cabinet to hang jackets.

The toilet/bathroom had a sliding door made of frosted glass, which is totally fine when you are alone, but a bit uncomfortable when travelling with another person, because it can't be shut completely ... there is always a gap between the wall and the door.

This hotel has everything you need. From booking to check-out, we had a very good experience. Communication was efficient and easy. The location is excellent and you can walk to many tourist attractions. The facilities are new, clean and compact. The kitchen has all the necessary utensils for any stay, long or short. The shower is wonderful, with hot and strong water! In short, I only have praise for this hotel and if I return to Reykjavik I will definitely stay here again.

If you are not traveling with someone close to you, such as your partner or family, you may feel a little uncomfortable because you can hear everything that is going on in the bathroom. The door does not close completely, and it is still somewhat transparent.

You can tell that it is a brand new renovation. The materials and furnishings are updated. The location was ideal for exploring Reykjavik on foot or by taxi. The building is small and quiet, and the neighborhood is a quiet residential area. It was 5-10 minutes walk to Laugavegur Street (with all of the "downtown" restaurants, shops, etc.). At the end of the block is a lovely public park with a small art museum and a disc golf course, playground, etc. Just 3 minutes walking to Sundhollin swimming complex. Next to the hotel, there is a coffee shop (Brikk) under construction (not yet open during my visit). Bathroom was large and had a great shower - plenty of hot water and water pressure. I appreciated the towel warmer, too. Kitchen had all the features you would need for a longer stay and to do some cooking, there is even a dishwasher! Small refrigerator, toaster, microwave, small coffee maker, and all of the dishes and equipment for cooking. Large TV with 30+ channels. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Small table and 2 wooden chairs for eating or using your laptop. Chairs not really comfortable enough for relaxing with TV or a book. Good window shades to block the "midnight sun" in the summer months. I got a great price for the location and the type of hotel!

I would have enjoyed a small comfortable chair to watch TV or to read. I sat on the bed, but the angle was not so comfortable because there was no headboard (there was a padded wall along the length of the bed). But overall a good room for me as a solo traveler.

This is an AMAZING choice for a longer stay in Reykjavík! It was such a great price! You even have a dishwasher, sink, mini fridge, and little oven! This is definitely helpful when storing leftovers from dinners or if you want to save some money and cook for yourself! It is so close to important and fun activities in Reykjavik but also far enough away to feel like you’re not crowded by people. I would 100000% recommend this hotel to anyone!!

The only problem I had (which was definitely my fault and not the hotel’s) was when I first typed in the hotel into google maps ODDSSON hotel came up. However that’s is not the one that I booked. I needed to make sure I typed in ODDSSON Downtown Hotel! Driving up to the correct hotel was easy as long as you look for the BLUE sign to know which building is correct! But again, take this with a grain of salt.

We took a chance as this hotel just reopened after renovation and we were very happy! It was easy getting in the house and to the room with a code, and you can always contact a super helpful receptionist via phone. Room is very cosy and has a pleasant design and kitchenette is equipped in all you might need to prepare your meals. Also a tasty local coffee is provided. The place is spotless! Beds are comfy, you can get earplugs complimentary, but we didn’t need them. Great sleep! And free parking being so close to the centre - nice bonus! Makes it a perfect base to stay longer and do daytrips. It was a fantastic start to our trip and we will be back!

It was so nice to have everything I needed in the hotel room and the location was great! We loved the dishes availability and not needing a clean room every day. We were so happy with this place.

We got there after flying all night and had a difficult time finding the building since there wasn’t a lot of signage. I think in the check-in email, perhaps mention that as well and which spaces are ours for parking. This wouldn’t deter us from staying again (nor should it you for the first time), but is nice to be aware

Great room for a reasonable price, very large bed and good bedlinen, a fabulously powerful and very hot shower. Well equipped kitchenette, handy for snacks, breakfast and hot drinks. Very good location, walking distance to everything but in a quiet area so slept very well.

We were next to the elevator shaft so it was a bit noisy at times as the bed headboard was against this wall. We soon got used to it. Could be useful to have a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries and more hooks in the room for coats etc but otherwise storage is good, neat and compact.

The room was perfect for our stay! Everything was clean and tidy. Great facilities including kettle, fridge, coffee maker, oven and dishwasher! Great tea and coffee selection. Shower was amazing and beds were extremely comfy. Handy to have a TV with chromcast as well which was an added bonus.

The only thing I would criticise is that the cleaning on the 3rd day didn’t update our towels which would have been nice and the lighting in the room needs to be slightly brighter. Was quite dark when we were in the room.

I recently stayed at Oddsson Downtown Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The suite was spacious and modern, with a fully equipped kitchen that made meal preparation easy and cost-effective. The suite was clean and comfortable, featuring a cozy bed, reliable Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom. The hotel's location was perfect—quiet but within walking distance of Reykjavik's main attractions. The staff were friendly and provided great recommendations. Overall, Oddsson Downtown Hotel offered excellent amenities, a prime location, and outstanding service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Reykjavik.

The room was immaculate. The bed and pillows super comfy. The bathroom was beautiful and the shower had great water pressure. Was in a pretty good area for accessing nice walks and the centre. Quiet at night on the parking lot side of the building!

On our last night there was a weird noise from the bathroom fan that sounded like a vacuum cleaner getting stuck, so the pitch would change every 10 seconds or so and we couldn't turn the fan off. It lasted about 3 hours between 11 pm and 2 am making it hard to sleep. It eventually went back to a normal fan hum.
