Good downtown location. Pleasant, helpful staff. Complete breakfast buffet. Room had good view of hilltop university buildings.

Our room was very large and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was big with a good shower with lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The closet was large with ample hangers. A mini fridge was provided along with coffee and a bottle of water. The wifi was excellent and there were many charging outlets and lights. We were on the fifth floor and we could open the windows for a breeze and at night we could lower the shutters and pull the blackout curtains.

The hotel and its furnishings were a little dated. The hair dryer appeared to be ancient and didn't work well.

I liked the hotel's location, the spacious room and the friendly breakfast and front desk workers. Upon arrival I was greeted with a bottle of water and a small pastry in my room. That was a nice touch. Also like the fact that there's a coffee machine in the room so I could enjoy my first coffee of the day!

Breakfast could have more variety of foods, greater quality of the fruits and better coffee. I absolutely disliked the coffee with the milk drink we get from the machine. It tastes bad and it's sweetened also. Not a good way to start my day!

The hotel is a former Convent, situate on the banks of a river. The architect who drew up the design must have had a very difficult task, as in several places he/she used sloping ramps to connect adjacent spaces. However these ramps are wheel-chair friendly. The Dining Room is the former central courtyard/cloister, now roofed in, and with numerous instructive wall panels of portraits and histories of the Knight Templars, who owned the castle on the hill above the town. (It would have been nice if a translation in English was provided). The catering staff were friendly and helpful, and the food selection was also good. Our room had a view over the town towards the Knight Templar castle on the hill top.

The Internet was slow, particularly at breakfast time, and in the early evening, when many people log on.

Size of the room was perfect, high level of cleanliness, central location of the hotel, very relaxing panoramic view from the windows, very fast check-in and check-out service, free parking in the hotel area, staff was available and so king in explaining us the right advices to visit Coimbra in only one day.

The rooms were a little bit dark (it was always necessary to have all the lights on), the external structure of the hotel probably deserves renovation as it is obsolete. By my side no other improvement area to be fixed :-)

This is a very comfortable hotel which fully deserves its 4* rating. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and we found the beds comfortable. There is a nice bar which was very reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean. We hope to come back for a third stay.

Some parts of the hotel are looking just a little bit tired. However, I understand that it will close temporarily in November 2024 for redecoration.

Prime location with affordable price

Suggestion: I would suggest to create a demo for the guests on how to park and how to get to the hotel from the parking. Receptionist gave instruction but I was struggling to come out of the parking and get in to the hotel during the night time. Even though Parking was 2 floors down from the reception, I have to go outside of the street and come back through reception during the night time and I was too tired. I would appreciate if someone take care for it (either video or color printouts) to educate their guests.

Location is great, can walk to everything. Also have a nice cafe at the hotel for snacks, meals, tea etc. Staff always available and very attentive.

The air conditioning in rooms is old kind, I think a central system, even though rooms are kind of modern. So for heating our air conditioner in the room did not work, and it was still cold at night. That is the only think we did not like is the heating and we really needed it.

The very welcoming and helpful staff in reception, the elegant appearance of the lobby, the classic nature of the room with a view onto the university, the lovely bathroom. This was one of the nicest places I've stayed in months.

Not much one could fault this hotel on. However, there is one thing, which has nothing to do with the hotel interiors, but everything to do with its parking facilities, which are in the basement under the hotel. The hotel has its own gated area and trying to find it in the dark labyrinth that is the very large, dark parking area is more than a test and becomes quite amusing, as long as you are not tired or in a hurry. A little thought would make this problem disappear.

Location, accessibity and excellent staff. A medium sized traditional hotel on a quiet street at the edge of the old town and city centre. Close to bus and train stations.

Although there has been some up grading of public spaces the superior rooms on the top floor, which cost extra, could benefit from new carpeting and bathroom fittings.
