The staff and their services are beyond exceptional. They are so lovely for allowing us to have our elopement wedding ceremony on the hotel grounds. Check-in and check-out are so swift too. We stayed in the Lakefront suite and enjoyed the fireplace and the bath tub that goes with it. It is truly more than what we have expected. They even served our breakfast in our room because we had to leave really early in the morning. The hotel, the scenery, the staff, the facilities, and the peacefulness in the area are soooo worth the money.

Loved this place! It was an incredible experience. Staff were amazing especially Michelle! My daughter and I weren't quite sure what to expect but we had such a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic and the facilities, from hot jacuzzis looking out to the lake, to the beautiful rooms and dining room/restaurant. The view is amazing with gorgeous black swans swimming on the lake

Beautiful location overlooking Lake Rotorua. We really enjoyed our breakfasts and wandering the lovely garden. The big bonus was the fire in our room which made the property so cosy, and we loved the hot tub after a busy and freezing day doing activities in Rotorua. Rowena and her team are doing a fantastic job of managing this property.

If anything, the decor is a bit dated, however this didn't affect how much we enjoyed our stay.We would definitely choose to stay here again.

The property is lovely. The rooms and the grounds were beautiful. The restaurant offers some great options and the staff are excellent. Highly recommend this property if you're going to Rotorua.

It's a bit far away from anything so you definitely need a car to get to the center of town or any of the attractions. It's also very hard to find online. Doesn't show up in any searches for where to stay in Rotorua. Was able to find it on Booking.com which worked out nicely.

The Black Swan is a delightful, scenic and a friendly place to stay. Breakfasts and accommodations were beyond expectations.

The one way street leading to the hotel was a little dangerous, as there is a blind curve.

The Black Swan is a gorgeous hotel that has been tastefully designed for luxury and comfort. Our room had a view over the lake and our own outdoor fire should we wish to sit outside. the staff were super friendly and did everything they could to make our stay special. the grounds were manicured and would be very special in summer. This is the type of hotel you come to stay and relax in, rather than heading out to explore.

That I could not stay longer!

This hotel was easily the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. The view was stunning! The room was beautiful. The food was excellent. I wish I could have stayed longer. No regrets. I'd gladly stay there again.

I didn't see the black swans while I was there. Maybe next time.

Very clean and nice size room. Staff very friendly and mad good recommendations.

Bed in floor rather than in an elevated bed frame. No hooks to hang towels in the spa/hot tub area. Should have a duty manager on staff between 6-19 to serve drinks.

We were here for a little bit of luxury and relaxation for our babymoon ;). Stunningly beautiful location and facilities, the staff were so friendly and accommodating especially Kym and one of the highlights were the incredible breakfasts. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Beautiful cosy conservatory space and gorgeous outlook over the lake all round. Room was lovely too and we enjoyed the sparkling water. Also made use of the pool and spas.

Only little drawback was being an older property and with our room below the dining space we could hear the creaking, especially when a family with very enthusiastic kids had an early breakfast and they ran around on the verandah above waking us up. Only one morning though and minor compared to the fantastic service and facilities overall.

The hotel was gorgeous. The bedroom (lake view) was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable, we loved how the whole room was laid out and the bathroom facilities - shower and bathtub. We used the pool and the hot tub every day, it was sheer luxury! I really liked that there were adequate sun loungers by the pool that kept us shaded. Staff were also extremely helpful and the view from our room was simply spectacular. When picking a room I highly recommend a lake view but the grounds supply excellent views for days regardless.

Our room, number 4 I think it was, sometimes had a problem with noise from the room above? Early in the morning there would be a lot of noise from someone walking around maybe? But I am a light sleeper. My husband who is not, was never disturbed. The hotel as a whole was very quiet :)
