The room was lovely. Views over the harbour were amazing. Location was great, not too far from the ferry landing from Ardrossan. Staff were lovely, very helpful.

Breakfast was reasonable but some extras like yogurt and fruit would have been good especially if not keen on a full cooked breakfast. Although the room was great and clean, the ensuite was not as clean as it could have been as the floor and skirtings were grubby. A missing shelf above the sink was a loss as we had to use the toilet seat lid to put things on when brushing teeth etc.

The room was warm and cosy. The decor was nice, the bedding was lovely and the pillow was fantastic! Just what we needed after a long day travelling. I was just disappointed that we had to leave early to catch a ferry and didn't get to try the breakfast. I rang up to check in late and staff were very helpful, they even came to open the door for me at 2am. Could not have asked for better service, definitely stay again

I visited with my son on a short cycle trip. I loved the location on the harbour-front of this lovely Scottish town. The room was small and simple but excellent for us. I thought that the accommodation combined with the included breakfast was very good value indeed. The staff were very friendly, the owner very hands-on but unobtrusive. When I checked in the lady asked if it was just for the one night and I immediately wished it was for more. Highly recommended.

Nice view of harbour.Friendly staff. 3rd bed in family room was pull out on the floor but technically still a single bed- suited us fine for the price we paid. Squeaky mattress springs and some(not unreasonable) noise from pub/street below but we slept well after hard day of cycling. Staff created a space to store our bikes. Lovely hot cooked breakfast.

Squeaky bathroom door. Hotel smells of cigarette smoke from people smoking outside pub downstairs with hotel door left open. Room smelled fresh though. No option for continental breakfast Low pressure on the shower but did the job. WiFi variable - not great for streaming films but good enough for everything else.

Perfect location, great very friendly. Breakfast lovely. Rooms we booked were clean and cosy.

We sent an e.mail asking for a little something to acknowledge the couple with us only being married the day before, they seemed to know nothing about it. We sent direct and through booking.com

Didn't get breakfast as I was leaving very early. They offered me a packed lunch to pick up on the way out... and didn't leave one. However, staff were really welcoming, the bar was great and the room was good, wifi in there too... will stay again

Not much, all pretty good actually.

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was also in a great location with a lovely view of the harbour. The breakfast was fantastic setting us up for the day.

The shower was a bit temperamental but was working. It could also be a bit noisy untill around 12.30am after the locals spilled out of the bar. However this would not stop me going again and all in all it was a great place to stay.

Great location in centre of Tarbert village. Although the hotel does not currently do food in the evening there are plenty of local restaurants very close. Good breakfast and looked after very well by the owner.

We were staying in the bedrooms on the top floor and had to share a bathroom. There are four bedrooms so quite a lot of people to share with

Fabulous location right beside the harbour. This is a hotel with character. It was the Scottish series regatta when we were there so there was a fabulous atmosphere in the evenings. Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. We had to leave too early for breakfast on our last day to catch the ferry so Marion kindly made us a pack up to take us instead.

very helpful staff when I called to advise I'd be checking in at 11p.m , upon arrival I was told about breakfast times which I wasn't able to get as I was leaving early, but was greeted with a packed lunch waiting at reception for me
