I phoned the hotel to let them know I would be checking in late due to work and the chap I spoke with was very helpful and understanding, I assumed it would be too late for a meal but the lady at reception said they could arrange food... Bonus ! The room was basic but clean and warm, breakfast was good. A nice place to stay in my opinion. I stay in hotels a lot for work and don't normally post reviews but felt this place is getting some uncalled for low reviews, if you want a brand new premier inn type hotel.. book one !

The staff were friendly and customer service focused.

I wanted to get a tool kit out to help with minor repairs, but only because the staff were great, not because the place needs much.

Friendly owner. Good place to stay for one or two nights to enjoy some walks.

Missing infrastructure. Bar was closed (however, we got a drink, when we found the owner). The „village“ itself has nothing to offer.

Although we were only staying overnight our stay was ideally situated for our journey home the following day. Breakfast was perfect and quick and there was a full variety available for us. Both Rhiannon, who met us when we arrived, and Pete, the owner, made our short stay very welcoming.

Absolutely fine

I booked in for a single night as part of a motorcycle camping trip after being soaked by the heavy rain, so it was luxurious compared to what I was used to. You have everything you can expect from a hotel room including a hearty breakfast. Nothing special, but what more can you wish for than a comfortable bed, spacious hot tub and room of suitable size. The hotel was understaffed at the time but were accommodating and fulfilled their duties.

Room was nice and spacious with a nice stand alone bath which thought was nice , I ate in the hotel and thought it was very reasonably priced and was delicious

Very comfortable bed and a great en suite. Decent selection of bar meals which were freshly cooked and tasty. If breakfast wasn't an option you could have a packed lunch which was very handy.

The wifi was a bit ropey but worked the majority of the time. Single glazed windows meant you could hear the traffic and i was at the back of the hotel.

We liked that the building was old and had most of it's original features but was still very clean. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. We were impressed by his collection of prestigious cars. Location was great as it was within driving distance of other holiday locations.

Mattress could have been more comfortable.

The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. The young ladies in the restaurant deserve a special mention

I am a regular visitor to this hotel for work overnight stays on passing to various jobs. It is very handy being on the side of the main road. It is always one of the better deals being in the lower cost end of the market but it gives me exactly what I need for a quick overnight stay with good food. It is very comfy and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food is the standard selection but good value and the breakfast is always excellent with plenty on offer.

I am well used to this establishment. It is a little run down looking with the original single glazing and some flaky painting and exterior. It is not the most inviting looking place on passing and not very well signed so you can pass without even knowing it is a Hotel. Food was great but my Black pudding for breakfast this time was like rubber and I could not even cut it with the knife!!
