Overall I was very happy with our stay here. The location of the hotel is perfect as you are right beside the beach and the marina. The reception staff/general staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel in general is very clean and has a good atmosphere in it. The pool is excellent and there was never an issue getting a bed around the pool. The hotel room is cleaned daily and was spotless upon arrival. We only had breakfast in the hotel and it was also good. I would definitely recommend the hotel to other people.

The only small downside is that the hotel room is slightly dated and our beds were a little bit uncomfortable but overall it is a very good hotel

Have read a lot of reviews since returning so want to mention some of these in this review, as we personally loved our stay here. We stayed here for 12 nights as a couple (24&25 yrs of age) We had a double room, bed was huge, room was a comfortable size and large balcony over looking the pool. Safe, toiletries, mini fridge etc included. Room was cleaned every single day, the cleaners even came back later in the day to cater for us if we weren’t up early enough in the morning, room was immaculate every day. There was reviews about the interior being old etc, we didn’t find this at all. Location was perfect, about 5 minutes to the beach and about 7 minutes to the start of the marina. Spar about a 1 minute walk from hotel so very handy to pick up some food, drinks etc The pool area is large, there is a large grass area with trees so you can pull the sun loungers under these and have privacy, we were never closer then atleast a metre and a half to the next group of people. We only struggled to get sun loungers on 1 day. Pool bar is good, good selection of food and drinks. Good selection for breakfast- we didn’t eat here for dinner so can’t comment on this We were having a late bday celebration for my partner, I mentioned this to the hotel and they delivered a bottle of sparkling wine & cake to the room which was a lovely touch. We compared the price to other hotels who had a ‘slight’ better location than ours and we found our hotel definitely offered a great price and we will definitely return.

The rooms are very hot, the air con is set to come on constantly (you can’t control the temp only the strength of air) but we didn’t find it cooled the room much at all so we did struggle to sleep some nights. You are more than likely not going to be able to check in until 3ish so I would think of this when planning. We found the service quite slow at the pool bar, but understandably it is a busy time of year for them. There was a lack of plug sockets in our room

This was my 4th stay at the Dom Pedro. I love the location and the staff are brilliant, so friendly and kind. There is a tranquil feel of this hotel, there is no mad rush to grab a sunbed, everyone is very chilled. The pool and surrounding area is lovely. We booked half board and there are plenty of options both at breakfast and dinner to cater for all.

I was disappointed that the hotel chain have removed the All Inclusive option and the cost to stay there has increased quite a lot. If they are going to start increasing prices, the bedrooms should reflect this and could probably do with a makeover.

The staff was really nice and a massive thanks to one of the cleaning ladies (heroes behind the scene) who not only came to clean the room in the middle of the night when my daughter got very sick but had kind words for both her and me, we were both upset. So again big thanks. The hotel desk also organised a doctor. Thank you. The breakfast was very nice but the queues at the coffee machine too long. The location was perfect close to the prom where you could go for long walks, close to many water activities, excursions, the bus. Uber was very inexpensive to travel. Plenty restaurants and shops in the area. Pool, tennis, paddle were nice for both kids and parents.

The family room was outdated. The air conditioning in the kids room did not work.

We went on our first family holiday with our 8 month old baby and stayed at Dom Pedro. The location was brilliant, so close to the beach and the marina, with some lovely little restaurants just outside of the hotel. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They made such a fuss of our little one, and they helped my partner plan my birthday. They even suprised me with champagne and cake for my birthday. Our room was lovely, very clean and spacious although a little dated. We had plenty of room with the travel cot that was supplied by the hotel. The only downside was that there was no kettle, and only a coffee machine for hot water. If we had known this before we would have taken a travel kettle as there was no kettle on request due to guests burning themselves, and trying to get the hotel in trouble? When travelling with a young baby, a kettle is a must! We had to get the restaurant to boil water for us for the babies bottle, as the coffee machines hot water strangely enough, had a coffee taste 🤣🤣 Apart from this, we wouldn't falt the hotel. Would recommend to anyone!

Nice sized room. Side view of the sea, sun in the evening to sit out. Breakfast was excellent, fruit( pineapple, melon x 2, grapes, banana, kiwi, mango, whole apples,pears), fresh juices, cereals, and a great selection of hot food, coffee, tea etc). 300 m from an unspoiled beach, there are rest rooms at the beach at station 4. Pool area in a very nice setting and garden, loads of beds. Bar open all day. Food and snacks available. Staff are very nice and cordial. There are some bars across the road and nearby. 300m-500m walk to marina depending on way you go. Loads of choice of restaurants in Marina. Light entertainment in bar at night.

Could not complain about anything. Would have enjoyed an omelette chef at breakfast. And a walk in shower for an elderly person with us but she coped well in bath, there could be a safety handle or two in bath as you shower.

The atmosphere of the hotel, the appearance, the facilities and large spaces to relax, indoors and outdoors were wonderful. The location was perfect, close to the beach and the marina but the best thing...the FOOD! It really was amazing, fresh and plenty of it. Some of the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We didn't like the worms in the indoor swimming pool and the bits floating in the water. We also didn't like the fact that some of the staff who were behind the bar serving guests did not have any understanding of English. This would not have been a problem if they weren't serving the guests but because they were serving the guests who were English and could not speak any Portuguese it made for an impossible task when trying to order a drink. The whole payment and ordering drinks at the outside bar was also really slow, but I think this was because some of the staff working there did not really know what they were doing.

The hotel was spotless and the room was very spacious. A little bit dated 9electric points hard to charge equipment for example) but for the price we paid for our room and that of my sons it was excellent value for money. The breakfast is great with lots of fresh fruits and freshly squeezed orange, as well as the usual cooked and continental choices. All the staff are efficient and helpful, in the communal areas.

Bit of a miserable last experience. Had ordered a breakfast pack up for 06.45. All the details taken by reception in the morning before departure. On request the next morning not available and had to leave for our transport as it was waiting -so not even a bottle of water.

Room and bathroom were clean, albeit a little dated. There was no kettle in the room, only a Nespresso machine. Bed was very comfortable and I had an excellent night's sleep. Staff on the whole were very friendly and accommodating.

There was a hiccup with the laundry in that my gym gear was returned to me in the same state I dropped it off in, still unwashed. Fortunately I had brought with me a washing pod so I washed my top in the bathroom sink which dried in the room overnight. After addressing the situation with reception I was not charged for the laundry bill.
