The Accommodation/room was excellent, we would deffo stay here again, we enjoyed our first part of stay where we had the balcony & view, the next part of stay we re-booked into the Wherry in the disabled but it didn’t have the balcony or view, it was still nice, but the shower didn’t drain properly & covered the whole bathroom floor with water, so it was always slippery, not good for it being a disabled room, we had to buy a mop to push the water down to the shower, we lived the Hotel in general but would deffo book the balcony/view room on the stay
The shower/wet room due to water not draining away properly

We received a warm welcome from the team at Reception. The bar area was busy but well staffed. Our room was as described on the website. It was spacious enough to move around to access the bathroom and our balcony. It was warm and comfortable, so was the bed. We were very happy with our balcony and the view of the lake from our room. It was too cold to sit outside but we would still recommend a room with balcony; it was well worth the extra money. The bathroom and shower were in good order, well heated & the shower had a good flow The restaurant / carvery offered a good choice of meals at affordable prices. The breakfast gave us everything we needed and staff made poached eggs on request. We found all the staff professional, attentive and friendly We were lucky enough (thanks to the lady at Reception) to obtain last minute tickets for the new year's eve party. Thank-you once again for letting us take part in the festivities!!

Room was large and clean perfect for our family of four, hotel was quiet, staff were very nice I would have rated it 5/5 but food was a little hit and miss, having said that the Sat was better than the Friday - and it was good value for money. The bar was also a great place to socialise with friends we had come to visit in oulton broads, relaxed with good comfy seating, thanks!
Food could have been better, carvery on the Friday looked like it had been on the hot plate for some time (better sat) and the Nann bread with our sons curry was rock hard However desserts were amazing x

I loved the location, the staff were exceptional the room even though we had no sort of a view was just fine as we were told well in advance and to be honest we arrived late when it was dark anyway and as we were only there for the one night it was just sole where to rest our heads
Only a couple of things came to mind the coffee at breakfast was very stewed ,I drink my coffee black and could only manage one small cup, I was disappointed that we had to pay extra for a hot chocolate at breakfast for my daughter and there was no where you could find a breakfast menu so we had no idea what to expect. Second thing that disappointed me was I was browsing the hotel folder in our room and the laminated paper was stuck and after removing it was sticky as well as the wedding brochure inside the folder was also sticky, a miner irritant but after the rest of the hotel being so great I feel this let it down for me

The breakfast and all meals were excellent. The breakfast was superb. There is just so much choice I would give it a 10 any time. As with the carvery all excellent. So just ignore those that complain about the Wherry food. The staff were all very cheerful from reception to meal times. So staff and food 10 out of 10.
The Wherry has an excellent position overlooking the broads, the train into Lowestoft goes every hour it is under 10 minutes walk away. buy your ticket after 0930.am. to get it cheaper. Warning the ticket machine is on the train to Norwich side. The small shops and other restaura+nt's 5 minutes walk away including the post box . Now as I said, the Wherry is a grand hotel. However it sadly needs updating and refurbishment.

Love staying at the wherry but usually stay in the junior suite with a view but as it was already booked we had deluxe double. It was clean and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is great with plenty to choose from. Had Christmas day meal which was delicious and plentiful and it was so well organised! The staff are incredible and all.with smiley faces and they can't do enough for you! Will definitely be staying again.
Not having a view of the broads but that's our fault for not booking earlier. And having to leave on boxing day! But we'll be back again soon.

The room was lovely with a nice view. Breakfast was satisfactory but not great.
Shower in our room did nit work. I was surprised to hear that this had been mentioned by previous guests but had not been resolved. It either needs to be repaired or replaced. I was told there was a *knack to it* but this is not really good enough as no one knows what the knack is. The water in the basin runs away very slowly and with no shower is not a good situation. The door trim is hanging off and needs repairing. The paint work on The balcony is flaking away and is in need of repainting. I think a better maintenance plan should be set up. Pretty poor really.

Lovely building, fantastic location, nice warm rooms with river view, excellent staff. Good carvery and breakfast.
We booked for 2 nights including breakfast, unfortunately on the Sunday afternoon we had to leave rapidly as my sister in law was taken ill. We rushed home then the next day I asked a Gentleman at the Hotel if we could be refunded 1 night stay, he said as we left in the afternoon he’s not able to relet the room, that’s fair enough but a refund on breakfast or a partial refund would have been welcomed. Nevertheless a beautiful stay.

All staff very helpful and friendly, Comfortable, quiet and clean room Breakfast staff very nice, and food hot and tasty. Really good local band playing at hotel on Saturday night which we went to see and the hotel seems to attract lots of local young people. Great location right on the water with nice restaurants near by.
We chose a double deluxe room, but nothing deluxe to us just larger. We had a road view and tv was too small for the large room so more difficult to watch from the bed and no other seating. If we return we will just book a standard double. At breakfast things ran out quickly like bowls, glasses, bread etc so bit of waiting around, staff worked hard to sort it out though.

Food was excellent and in a beautiful location
We stayed in room 108 that was directly above the venue lounge and the music went on until midnight followed by customers exiting the area slightly worse for wear. If we visit again we would only do so if we stayed in a quitter room and check if any entertainment or weddings were planed. On a safety note, when exiting the hotel by car I considered it to be very dangerous as the view of fast-moving traffic approaching from the right was masked by the evergreen hedge on the right. In the interest of safety, it may be prudent to either remove part of the hedge or reduce its height.
