The location, parking and staff were great

Quite expensive for how basic and run down the rooms were.

Great location with views of the river from our room. Good size room and bathroom and well thought out layout. Staff were exceptionally helpful - letting us extend our check out time - and very friendly. Breakfast was great with good selection and cooked breakfast was excellent.

Small issue but no air-con in the room (small fan in cupboard though) and with window open a bit noisy.

Although it is not a modern looking hotel, but my room is clean and cozy. The hotel meets my basic needs, and one can walk to Cork City within 10mins. Also, there are shops like convenience store, pharmacy, bakery and restaurants within 3-5 mins of walking distance. Its location is good. I would like to thank in particular, Carina (I think she is the mgr) and Maggie whom have helped to give me the phone number of a clinic which is opened on weekends, as my girl was unwell at that time. And for allowing me to place my luggages at the hotel (I was supposed to check out of the hotel that day), for as long as I needed to. In addition, Nunzia, another of the hotel staff called and emailed me, to check whether I needed room service, as the card which I hang at my door knob has dropped on the floor. The card has messages on both sides - “please service my room” and “please do not disturb”, so the staff was unsure as to whether I would want room service for that day. Carina, Maggie and Nunzia are valuable assets of the hotel, they have made my stay in Lancaster Lodge, a comfortable and memorable one.

The shower water pressure is not strong enough for me. I am staying on the 4th floor (top most floor), maybe the water pressure is not strong enough to reach the top floor.

The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the city centre (approx. 10 minutes). There was a free car park on the hotel grounds for hotel residences only, so we felt very safe leaving the car parked here. The receptionist allowed us to check in 2 hours early as a room was available. The room was spacious and clean, and we had a nice view looking out onto the river. The bed was very comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe if needed. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so unsure how good it is. The staff we met were very pleasant and helpful with any questions.

The heating was turned on at timed periods in the hotel. We could not turn it on when we wanted, but only set the heater to how hot we wanted when the heat was on. Some evenings were quite cold coming back to the room.

Spacious, relaxed relaxing rooms in a bustling Cork student quarter on the river-bend. Aamazing view from above, though a foggy day it was in Cork town. Sparkling clean bath, a long coveted luxury these days. The bed was too soft.

Credit card declined for no apparent reason, at least not to me. In this Dystopian age of ubiquitous pass-codes, PINs and confirmations, a failed transaction is rarely a surprise. Early checkin turned in to a saga, never confirmed. Repeated 260 word-long emails from "no-reply@bookingcom" do NOT help to sort things out. Tell Booking to get real.

Excellent location. 10 mins walk to the English market, passing several bars, eateries and shops on the way. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

Squeeky toilet door and loose toilet (rocking on the floor), room 301. It made going to the loo very noisy, especially during the night. Also, the shower control was very stiff, so it was difficult to turn with wet hands. I explained the problems to check out staff when we left. She seemed less than interested but said she would report it. She didn't write it down, so i asked her to repeat the problem. Guess what? She couldn't remember what I had said!

No problems. All OK. What was important was that parking 'on-sight' was available which is not the case at many other places.

All was fine.
