Lovely hotel, centrally placed. Really nice staff throughout.. Room very good and comfortable.. Nice size as well, didn't feel cramped. Excellent comfy bed. Good breakfast plenty of choice and regularly topped up. Would stay here again. Excellent value all round. Very highly recommended.

Couple of minor niggles, why no loo brush? Bathroom air vent loose in wall and stuck in closed position. Hot tap in sink, never got really hot, although shower was fine. Bathroom could have been cleaned better, following room being serviced. A clock of some form would be nice. . A /C control was erratic. A another picture would have been nice. As stated above only really minor niggles.

Great location, staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean hotel and rooms are modern. Can only access lifts to rooms by swiping your room card so felt safe. Breakfast was good and worth the £12. Poor lighting in our room made applying makeup really difficult which was a pain as we were going out on the night for a Xmas do. However I really enjoyed our stay so will return.

The lighting in the room was not good for getting ready. Spot lights and dim lighting, including the bathroom. Made applying makeup very difficult even with my own mirror, which I brought. Would suggest people bring a small mirror with Led lighting

Location central 5 min from station close to shops and nightlife. Bar area comfortable and staff very helpful, brought my drinks over to the table. Breakfast excellent, lots of choice and hot plates.

My room was internal which was directly over the huge air con plant. The net curtain is virtually opaque so i did not notice the window was open. Generally these days hotel windows do not open for safety reasons. When i came back in the evening the room was chilled and there was alot of noise from the air con plant. Really bad night unable to sleep until went to window at 5am to see what the noise was from. Realised window was open and after closing noise was much reduced but still present. Notified reception on check out but would recommend checking windows as staff may not think to close. Only downside i experienced.

The location is fantastic for the city centre. Ten minutes from the train station, lots of restaurants within minutes, there is a cinema complex just up the road. The beds were comfy, the room was at the back so no noise from other guests or from the street, though there was a wind tunnel outside the window which never stopped. Ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee provided in the room. They provided a bottle of water and biscuits on arrival, though sadly this was never replaced, normally you at least get the biscuits replaced. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful.

A vile smell in the lobby on entry that was always there, like somebody had sprayed an entire bottle of aerosol and kept spraying. The staff member that checked us in was very rude, he even sighed when we asked to pay half the room cost each. Hard to work out how to get the room warmer, as it was quite cold. The room was straightened, but they never replaced the sheets, or cleaned the bathroom properly as the same marks were there from the beginning of the stay to the end. Expected individual bottles of shampoo and shower get in a four star hotel, instead of having to constantly pump out a bit of gel in a refillable one. Unable to try the breakfast as the cost of adding this on was way higher than going out for breakfast at a local restaurant.

First, it came with an iron and an ironing board - always a necessity when I've got shirts in my luggage. The staff were very helpful despite a bit of curmudgeonliness on my part over the fact that there was no record of my early check in. Breakfast actually had enough seats and the choice of food was good - a choice of traditional English or Continental styles is much better than one or the other.

It would have been nice if the shower had been entirely enclosed - there was a disconcerting gap at the end of the glass screen that caused water to get on the floor even after the half-width "door" was closed.

Modern and very clean room, spacious, beds very comfortable - it's been a while since I've slept as well as in the bed in my room here. The bathroom and shower were also great, Using the self-service machine in the lobby for check-in was very convenient. When I checked out, I could leave my luggage in a secure room until later in the day, which was nice. The breakfast was very good, with a wide range of options. The location is ideal: Right in the centre of Newcastle, but only a short walk from the railway station.

We stayed the Great North Run weekend and considering the event it was great value for money. Extremely well located by the main train station & in city centre it meant it was very convenient for our weekend of tourist activities and the race. The customer service was excellent with staff offering raffles for late check outs & providing special shower facilities that we really appreciated post-run after we checked out. The rooms are spacious with nice bathrooms and the gym, although small can be signed out 24/7 from reception. The restaurant was prompt when we needed it to be & was good value for money also

The gym was too small to do any floor work and having to check out the card from reception was a bit of a time sink. The internet was also too slow for me to be able to stream games which was a bit disappointing.

Room was comfortable and had all necessary facilities including kettle, tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron, safe, small table and chairs. Bathroom had good shower and plenty of space. We cannot rate the food facilities as we preferred to eat in the many restaurants and cafes in the local area.

There was no luggage rack. Normally a collapsible one is provided that allows the suitcase to be raised off the floor. It is tempting to put the case on the bed to pack and unpack but that is not good especially if it's wet outside. We were initially given a room with disability access, but we swapped it straight away. We do not need that and would prefer that those rooms are kept available for people who actually need such rooms. A robot was used for room service which was a novelty but many might prefer human interaction!

Efficient booking service and collection of key. Modern , clean hotel . Very comfortable room with all facilities. Extremely comfortable bed and had a great sleep in a very quiet environment even though in a busy city we could not hear any noise . Breakfast was excellent with a fantastic range of good quality food on offer . The staff throughout our stay were amazing , very attentive , efficient and helpful . Asking if they could do anything else for us and gladly offering to take our bags into storage for the day whilst we went shopping . We would definitely stay here again .

The staff were brilliant I had to book last minute because my wife was in the RVI Hospital having our first baby. we were originally told that I could stay and on the day was told I couldn't stay and said I had to go home and wasn't travelling back and forward from Carlisle to Newcastle so I looked on Booking.com found a hotel within walking distance from the Hospital with reasonable price and good reviews. And the Maldron was a good fit. The staff were so attentive they were very concerned for me my wife and my new baby. I was planning on only staying for 1 night but on checkout in the morning I said that I might need to stay another night they just said we will have something for you for sure if required just come back and we will sort it out it turned out I needed another night because my wife had complications and wasn't allowed to go home so went back to the hotel and they were concerned and gave me a 20% discount on the cheapest available rate which was so kind they even remembered my daughters name and asked after my wife and daughter I couldn't recommend them enough.

I thought that the Breakfast was a bit pricey but didn't change my opinion that the overall stay was brilliant.
