Nikola was a very sweet person and helpful, keeping the kitchen and dining room clean and tidy and helping out when needed, and always with good manners.. My small cozy one-bed room was clean, comfortable bed and had everything i needed

I would put on perhaps better curtains in the room, to make it darker in light iceland’s summer nights, But I fortunately had my blindfold with me;)

This is a very welcoming guesthouse. The hosts are super friendly. There is a shared kitchen that guests are welcome to use, coffee is always available, provided by the hosts, and there are also cereals and milk available although there is no breakfast advertised at all; a welcoming common room where you can eat or browse photo books about Iceland. My room was spacious, with a good desk, I was very happy even if it was with shared facilities.

Lovely guesthouse in a great area ! Cosi and comfortable and super clean ! You cannot find better in Reykjavik (Price VS quality). We were in the room 11 : Huge room and very charming! Separate toilet in the same level and beautiful bathroom downstairs! Also beautiful leaving room and garden with everything that you need ! in the heart of Reykjavik. We were able to visit the whole city by foot ! I 100% recommend this magnificent guesthouse!

Not the hosts' fault but the neighbors on room 12 made a lot of noise leaving the house at 2:50 in the morning! (slamming doors and leaving the front door wide open all night)… too bad that customers do not respect the conditions/rules very clearly indicated by our hosts !

I arrived @ Kef airport. Bus from there, straight to BSI Station. No stops. 5 (possibly 7) minutes from BSI Station and you are at the guesthouse. Everything was ready to welcome me and self check in was perfect. All super clean, the staff is great and friendly, like you are with some friends in the same house. Litteraly in front of Hallgrímskirkja Church... litteraly. From there you can walk everywhere in town. I had few hours and I had the opportunity to see everything in town. They provide all the info you need to shop around and feel at home. Thank you guys. important thing: they are in the building and ready to help.

It has been my "layover" between two flights. Because domestic airport is located close to center of Reykjavik, I choosed the Red guesthouse which is licated in-between downtown (10 minutes walk) and BSI - cental bus hub (10 minutes walk). Before even booking, I was attracted by friendly description with many small, but quite important details. Reality was above my expectations... Extremely clean and cozy, quite old (I believe) authentic icelandik house which remembers many inhabitants, their happy and sad days, love stories and laugh of kids. There are many pictures on the walls, some of them are real oil on canva pices of art, some are introducing modern (NOT conteporary! :)) art. Every corner, every little shelf is well designed and "on a right place". Kitchen is well equipped - possible to accomplish quite complicated receipts. Eric is a very positive and friendly person, easy available and helpful by phone. A few another customers were smiling and friendly - seems that interior and atmosphere of this house affects people in a good way. My only regret is that I spent only one night there and didn't have enough time to really enjoy this place. I'm already looking forward my next trip to Reykjavik. Thank you very much Eric! You and your staff are great! Eugene Snezhkin Nóvember 14, 2024

Great location, just a few mins walk to the main street and 10mins walk to BSI bus terminal (walk will take longer in winter with snow and rain, will be harder with a big luggage on the icy slippery roads so just take the bus). Bus stop no.8 from/to the airport is also a few mins walk away. You can see the famous church from the door step. Staff was friendly and always up for a good chat, he also gave me good tips and advice for getting around the city. Room was warm and bed was comfy. Bathroom came with nice Icelandic toiletries.

It was a charming place with a lovely community feel. Its location was perfect and the decor felt like a cosy folktale scenery. The staff were very friendly and there was a neighbourly but intimate feeling to it all.

We did not get to spend the second of the two nights we booked there. We were told that this was due to an issue with their radiators. We were provided with alternative accommodation - free of charge. This was an entire, modern (and spotlessly clean!) apartment only a few minutes away, but it did not have the same charm as the room we originally booked.

This is a super cute B&B not far from the Church at the top of the hill. I didn't get to use the breakfast /coffee / common areas as we got in around 6pm and my flight was at 830am the next morning and we were out most of the evening. We arrived with a note and info on our room as the house manager had left for the day. Our room was a fantastic triple with it's own bathroom. I love a converted house and the charm of this place was wonderful. I was traveling with friends ( a couple) and there was more than enough room for all 3 of us and our luggage. Bathroom not massive but wasn't expected to be. Also there's a separate restroom that's available to everyone in the house if it's required. There was parking available across the street that was free after 6pm which was perfect for us,

Everything was great. My only regret is not investigating the cost and availability of an individual room for the following evening before the end of the trip. It was only after the fact I realised I could have stayed one more night - as it's so reasonably priced for one person - most accom is super exy in Iceland unless you are sharing. However Eric the red guest house super affordable for a solo traveler, especially on AUD $$.

Perfect little guesthouse in a fantastic location near the church. I had a single room downstairs which had a separate entrance round the back. Noticeably quiet as didn't notice any outside noise. Room was very warm, generous size for one person and had own private bathroom and a comfortable bed with a desk a chair also. Kettle in the room with a selection of teas. Shared kitchen and separate dining area with free cereal for breakfast. Met the owner and was a great person to chat to.

Being downstairs the window was high and no view, but as was staying in the winter was dark outside anyway! But this would not put me off booking again.

Where do I start, I was exhausted from traveling around Iceland. As soon as I walked in Leo, one of the owners, made me feel at home. Authentic care and attention to travelers needs. Leo showed me the place, the different rooms I can pick from and simply made me feel right at home among long time friend. I needed to do laundry desperately and Leo offered me access to the house laundry facility. That saved me from my hiker clothes sink. Lol The house is so charming, comfortable, clean, quiet and right in the center of everything. I can see the iconic hallgrimskirja church right from the window as it's across the street. The house has a beautiful "soul", full of character with modern amenities. Has an amazing backyard garden where I sipped my coffee and read. There is also a sense of community around here. Travelers share stories, food and snack they no longer need and helpful tips. This is by far the best place I've stayed at in Iceland. If im ever back to Reykjavik I won't be looking or shopping around. It's this home that I'll choose. Thank you Leo and staff for making my visit awesome.

Nothing.
