The bed & pillow was one of the most comfortable I have ever had in a YHA. Wi-Fi throughout the accommodation. Rooms were adequate in size, but I was in a room with 2 men which was a bit awkward - but they were amazing & so considerate. Staff were so friendly & really looked after me & understood I was in the area to run 165km over 4 days & needed a bit of love. The gardens outside were so relaxing & the lounge in the TV room was great to put my sore feet up at the end of the day, The TV was easy to use. Games & books were available. Plenty of room to cook - 2 areas set up. Ample kitchen cooking facilities & equipment which was clean & well located. Close to town & across the road from a walkway which I used a number of times. Car parking was awesome & easy to get in and out of. The facility was also very proactive in all aspects of being environmentally focused - Worm farm, recycling, signs everywhere as to how you can assist with the environment. Sign in sheet for walkers/hikers, site felt secure & it was quite - except for the cicadas!!! Overall the stay was amazing.
The shower was a bit short on water supply & needed to have its washer replaced as it kept running & had to be turned off hard. The room was a bit cramped for 3 people - not enough cupboard storage - only 2 cupboards for 3 visitors. Kitchen had 2 fridges which filled up pretty quick with a couple of extra visitors & there wasn't a freezer.

location was fantastic, the venue was cozy and had a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly helpful, kind and polite too! we stayed during a relatively quiet time i think, but there was still a quaint communal atmosphere to the place; especially in the common rooms and kitchen facilities the room, whilst not a luxury resort suite, was very comfortable, with more than enough room. hangers and fold out tables made sure we always had lots of space for our belongings. the bed was very clean and comfortable! as mainly just a place to unwind and sleep after being out most of the day, i practically couldn’t ask for any more

Great spot, good kitchens and the leisure rooms were super comfy thanks to the fireplaces. Also sitting out by the fire on the evenings was great. And the fact that there are Roos and Opossums basically on your doorstep all the time just made it even nicer.
Just one thing, I see the benefits of a fixed shower head. If that shower head is lower than my sholder level, though, it doesn’t really conduce comfortable showering. Other than that, everything was great, though.

Very spacious lodge with a large well equipped kitchen, and two separate lounge areas where you can watch a movie or relax with a book. Bathrooms were clean. Lots of wildlife at doorstep. Huge lockers in the dorm so you can put stuff away instead of having everything on the floor (but there were only 2 lockers in the 3-bed dorm)
Wish there was a power socket near the bed to charge the phone... felt a bit anxious with the phone not being next to me (first world problems lol). Hand dryer in the ladies bathroom upstairs turns off every 2 seconds.

Private room was cheaper than staying in a motel and bigger than many motel rooms. Well-equipped and well-organised kitchen made it easy to self-cater. Spacious dining room and two lounges with TV, plus outdoor area with a fire pit and visitors such as cockatoos and emus. Simple touches like towel rails in the bedrooms were appreciated.
Was all good. Not a fault of the hostel, but the General Store in town is quite pricey, so recommend that guests bring food if they intend to do a lot of self-catering.

The location and the hostel were superb. Really liked the open and friendly vibe. The staff was fabulous and accommodating. The kitchen facilities were great and there was heaps of storage and space for cooking. The rooms, lounge area, and dining area were spacious. Great access to all sorts of walks and super close to the little township that has great coffee and food options.
Because the hostel was full during the weekend, the bathrooms were super busy, which wasn't ideal. Apart from that everything was great.

This is an amazing hostel. They’ve thought of everything. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. The kitchens are well equipped and clean. The two common rooms are lovely & cosy with fireplaces. One has a large flat screen tv and the other room is for quieter activities (reading, puzzles etc). Native wildlife visit on a daily basis. This place has a really welcoming vibe and I’d definitely stay here again.

The communal area was lovely and homely, with lots of space to chill as well as plenty of kitchen space so you didn’t feel like you were in the way of anyone. I was in a 3 bed room which had plenty of space for my bags and a lockable cupboard for peace of mind. The hostel had a sign in/out list for people going on longer hikes which felt like a nice touch. The owners were super friendly! (I would highly recommend the Pinnacle Wonderland Trail and the Boronia Peak Lookout Trail, which starts very close to the hostel)

One of the best hostels I've stayed at! Modern and comfortable. Good layout with common areas away from the rooms. Organized kitchen, spacious lounges, and clean bathrooms. Easy access to town and multiple hiking trails. I was traveling solo and met some wonderful people. Loved seeing kangaroos around the property too.
Rooms could use more outlets for charging

Clean, comfortable, a great shower and the staff were super helpful. We were walking the Grampians Peaks Trail and being able to leave some supplies with them was a great help. Also, after 4 days in the bush we appreciated being able to check in early, having a great shower and using the washing and drying machines. Our private room opened onto a garden and the shared bathrooms were clean and free when we needed them.
All good!
