Although the weather was extremely stormy with gale force winds on the particular weekend we stayed at Marwood, we had a beautiful fire to keep us warm, plenty of firewood and everything was lovely and clean. The spa bath was huge and set in an elegant decor and the whole place had a peaceful ambience. We endured an incredible storm on the saturday night and felt very safe in the villa which is solid and made of sandstone. Very cosy!! We also met Cameron who looked out for us and is a very friendly and kind person. Marwood is very peaceful and has lovely landscaped grounds. We did manage to get a climb in up the mountain before the storm hit. We chose Marwood to stay somewhere quiet and peaceful with lots of outdoor scenic walks and we were very happy with our short holiday..

With your own secluded villa located in a botanical garden, this location has to be rated 'magical'. It is very private, We were greeted on arrival with the scents of multiple boronias. Walking in the large grounds surrounded by native forest, we discovered numerous plantings of azaleas, rhododendrons, camelias and exotic natives; they were simply amazing. But the villa was equally special. Comprehensively equipped, the villa was tastefully furnished. The log fire and spa bath added a great touch to a very special place. It was our first visit to Halls Gap - if we ever return it would definitely include a stay at the Marwood Villas.

Beautiful place to stay, pure luxury, the spa is amazing, and the bed is comfortable. Split system aircon as well as fireplace in loungeroom, with everything supplied to start and keep it burning. Perfect for winter stays. The villas are located close to the main street for shops, cafes, restaurants, a very convenient 3 minute drive, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was a nice surprise to have a continental breakfast with a fresh loaf of local bread waiting for us upon arrival. I'm very eager to book and return. The large guest folder has great information on things to do, where to find different local restraunts, cafes, and places of interest. Highly recommended, won't be disappointed.

I can't think of anything I didn't like

The location was amazing...super close to restaurants and activities, and loved looking out of the property into bushland. The bed was comfortable and the heating options (fireplace and reverse cycle unit) made it easy to not feel the cold during Winter. We loved that breakfast was included, as well as DVD options. The hosts were responsive to questions before and during our visit. We would definitely stay at the same property if visiting Halls Gap again.

Some things weren't working (e.g., light in cupboard, spa jets, one dvd we tried to play). Fruit juice for breakfast would have been nice, rather than just hot drink options. A later check out time would have made the morning more relaxed. Nothing that ruined our stay though, just suggestions to make next time even better.

This was our 2nd time staying at Marwood and it was beautiful!! The owners were very welcoming and got to see the peacocks. Lovely gardens and the bed was comfortable, spa amazing and the fireplace just superb. We will again be back for our 4 yr anniversary next year. 1 night isn’t long enough so I think next stay will be 2 nights of pure comfort and lovely landscape to look at in a private setting.

Nothing it was perfect

Fantastic and well appointed private villas with a beautiful aspect and relaxing but luxurious feel. The spa bath was the best that we have come across. Well looked after and exceptionally well maintained and cleaned so you don't need to worry about the last few clients hair and icky bits being left in the jets! Also, the owners have clearly identified and instigated an outstanding way to fend off bugs and other things that usually occur in regional areas because we didn't see so much as a fly let alone anything creepier on the premises!!

Batteries in the candles flat Batteries in one of the TV remotes flat Tiles and wrought iron chairs made the villa feel a little cold. A floor rug would be a good addition especially with the cold weather. Steps to access the bathroom were a little dangerous as a tripping hazard in the dark, so had to keep the light on in the bathroom during the night. One of the taps in the shower broken. As it was around $300 per night I expected more luxurious body products rather than bar soap. The breakfast offering I thought for the price we paid may have featured some local produce and a bit more upmarket rather than regular plastic preserves, margarine and cereals. Felt that the owner could have been more obliging and helpful to our phonecall enquiry earlier in the day.

An amazing self contained villa, 1 of 6 on the picturesque property, very relaxed surroundings, kanagaroos are often chilling on the grass, made for couples, they have a 'no children' rule which is great. A stocked wood bin for the fireplace, a complimentary bottle of local sparkling wine in the fridge, a spa bath, everything you need for an amazing couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Lovely, good sized cottage filled with everything you need for a fantastic Halls Gap holiday. The cottage has a large spa which we enjoyed while drinking the free bottle of sparkling wine. Wonderful! Everything we could have possibly needed was supplied. The area was lovely and peaceful with kangaroos, kookaburras, and other wildlife right at the front door. Very short drive (or easy walk) to all the great things to see and do in Halls Gap. We had a great time. Thank you.

So very much to Love about this place. So Much thought and design has gone into the villa and grounds. The best I’ve stayed in for sure in the halls gap area. Great internet , grounds location and the villa itself was faultless so clean and amazingly comfortable and relaxing. Close to hiking and cycling . Great beds spa facilities and so clean

One night is no where near enough . Absoluty nothing i didn’t like about it
