The hotel is beautiful. Our room smelled a little bit of fresh paint and they immediately moved us to another room with no smell. The food was very good and safe. I’m prone to Egypt tummy and had nothing the entire stay. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The entire hotel was clean and spacious. Will return when possible.

The only thing I didn’t like was the loud music on the beach from neighbouring hotels, but it is possible to escape this by going a little bit further to the right side of the beach. We went to another hotel before, with loud music and rude guests that enjoy that kind of environment. Huge difference in fort arabesque. The house reef is wonderful and the access is well monitored by the beach guards. Sun beds were comfortable as were the actual beds in our room (albeit a bit on the hard side in the room). The food at the buffet was always tasty and there were plenty of options, only as vegetarians we lacked a bit of options or variety. Hotel reception/management was also very friendly and correct in reimbursing us for a cancelled service where they weren't at fault themselves and had no direct obligation to do so. Overall the hotel felt very secure and all staff were friendly.

When staying at the beach in the adult only part, there weren't many toilets nearby. Most of the buildings felt well maintained, but the arena for the evening shows could use some renovation and the music was played excessively loud during most shows.

It's an amazing place for snorkeling. The main reason we booked this resort was for its direct access to beach and best place for snorkeling and it was amazing. The room was clean and very good for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). Room gets cleaned every day. Several restaurants for food (some are only for adults so could not go there with kids). Plenty of food. Swimming pool was with warm water so my kids enjoyed the pool. The employees always had a smile and were very nice and always tried to entertain kids. Kids club was another great thing, they take care of kids from 10am - 12pm and again from 3pm - 4:30pm which is great for parents to go into beach for snorkeling without having to worry about the kids. Table in beach bar restaurant should be reserved for Dinner and the dinner there is very good and they have live music and dance. Every night they have mini disco for kids which my kids enjoyed a lot and after the 30 mins disco they have some other shows which was very entertaining as well. Overall very satisfied with the resort.

The resort is huge, with a large green area, several pools and bars, animation, and a nice beach. The side gate takes you directly to Makadi city center. The sea is unbelievable, with lots of corals and plenty of fish close to the shore, no need to take snorkeling trips in my opinion. There is also a scuba diving center inside the resort you can book trips with and a small shopping center. The room and bathroom were quite spacious and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Food quality was excellent for the price. They have different restaurants in the resort you can choose from with the basic rate. I recommend the restaurant by the beach (grilled fish or chicken a la carte) with live music almost every night - reservation needed for this one. You can also pay for an upgrade (I think around $40-50 per day) to get food a la carte. It's worth trying for 1 day at least. Overall the quality is superb and very cheap for what you get. We can't wait to go back there!

The airport shuttle costs $20-25. With Uber, it will cost you around $8-10 (select cash as payment method on the app!). It is not specified anywhere that you need a reservation for some of the restaurants. A booklet should be provided upon check-in with all the information and services available at an extra charge. Wifi is awful! There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the seating area next to the reception and it is very slow. You need to pay a fee if you want Wifi in the room!

Excellent resort which was perfect for our family break. Snorkeling directly from the beach was the highlight, just walk out a few metres and there is an abundance of highly colourful fish to see. You don't even need to be able to swim, you can remain standing you just need a snorkel mask and a camera to capture it all. Clean, tidy, plenty of food options of a good standard. Plenty of shops for anything you need or have forgotten.

This was a slice of heaven after a week of travelling up the Nile in 44 degree celsius heat. The resort was glorious - beautiful white washed exteriors, bright fuschia flowers, green lawns and palm trees against the turquoise blue of the Red Sea and the many swimming pools. The family room we stayed in was very spacious and kept spotless by wonderful housekeeping staff. The food was to a really high standard and on the basic all inclusive package we were able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at set times as well as snacks (pizza/ice cream) throughout the day - as well, of course, as ice cold beverages from our favourite spot at the pool bar! Although Makadi Bay is relatively far from the main resort of Hurghada (about a 30 min taxi ride), there was plenty going on to keep us occupied within the grounds of the hotel. We organised a private snorkelling boat trip through the resort's dive centre (at a small cost), snorkelled on the reefs just out from the resort's private beach and we participated in the water aerobics and water polo which was a lot of fun. There was entertainment in the evening, shops, a spa and a pharmacy on site. I was really impressed with the place considering it was such a reasonable price.

Every day we were approached by various members of staff trying to sell us spa trips, caricatures, boat trips, quad biking tours etc. It was pretty annoying as we just wanted to relax and we could see from advertisement in the lobby as well as the in-room booklet that these services were available, so it was a bit overkill to then have so many people interrupting us throughout the day as well. I was also disappointed that you couldn't hire snorkels given the many reefs just 30m out from the shore - instead you were forced to pay 25 euros for a half decent mask and snorkel from the shop. Although the food was delicious and all the serving staff and chefs were really wonderful, there wasn't much variety day to day and the lunch also started at 1pm which I thought was a bit late.

More a la carte dinner options needed. Not great that you can only use 2 of the a la carte places if you stay in a suite or a villa, makes you feel like second class citizens, even though we paid for a deluxe sea view room, we are not good enough. The policy of the sunbeds in the beach is also awful. If you want to get one on the front row you need to be a first class citizen or prepared to pay them lots more money. For an 'all inclusive' premium resort like this I think this is unfair, and suggests they don't value the experience of all their guests. They also allow people also to reserve sunbeds around the pool all day with towels, so you have limited choice there too. It's a shame these policies let a beautiful resort down. I would come again if they changed them.

we stayed at villas, love privacy and pool it comes with pavilion cafe which was convenient for villa residents, it serves breakfast and dinner only love the beach !!! we snorkel all the time, in fact we extended our stay for one more week.

no internet and it does not matter where you stay. it’s only works at the reception. so, buy sms card at the airport you will save time. the menu at pavilion and club 59 does not change, so prepare yourself eat same items ( if you stay longer )

Swim up villa with sea view was incredible. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Choice of restaurants. Best part was the beautiful, clean beach with snorkelling easily accessible from the house reef. Service on the beach was also exceptional and nothing too much trouble. Customer service ladies for the Villa's were helpful and cheerful as were the cleaners and the Club restaurant staff by the beach. Food in the West Wing buffet was very good and enough variety for the week.

A lot of the waiters really didn't appear that happy. Some days not even a Hello or Good Day was said. German and Arabic were the main languages spoken by the staff with a number of waiting staff speaking no English at all.

An amazing resort with fantastic staff - starting from the check-in process at the reception (Mr. Victor, Mr. Abdel Rahman and Mr. Hatem) to the room cleanliness and size to the swimming pools, the greenery everywhere, the very long extended sandy beach with fantastic inhouse reefs to the beach bar (Abdel Rahman offered a smiley and attentive service), the pizza bar and the main restaurant - everything was very good. The food quality and freshness was very good that my sensitive tummy didn't suffer at all during my stay :) the animation lady that did morning stretching was very good.

I wish the animation team did ask for permission before taking photos of us (guests) during activities.
