The people running the hotel. The location. The restaurant food was first class and very good value for money. The pint of Guiness I had every night was nice and cold and good value for money also.

The room I had (208) was showing signs of ageing, the loo had its toilet roll holder pulled off the wall, the shower had its toiletries shelf missing. (Screw holes were evidence) The windows were unable to be locked as most of the fittings were missing. BUT, for the price I paid for 3 nights it was OK.

Apart from the originaql allocation of a 'box' room for my wife and I, contrary to our request for adjacent rooms we were pleased with the hotel. It is obviously old and in need of renovation the Staff were friendly and helpful and the food were provided or ordered was very good. We learned that the Hotel has had new owners since February and that there are plans in hand for a complete rennovation. Should these be carried out the hotel is in an idea;situation for promoting in the area.

Having requested adjacent or close rooms with our friends, we found on our arrivalthat though theyn had been allocated with a large comfortable room in the front of the hotel, my wife & I were allocated a small 'Box room in the centre with a skylight for natural lighting, a double bed pushed against a wall with a single bedside table and a small shower/toilet en suite. The size of this room was like a prison cell and claustrophobic. At best it was possibly a single room. I am pleased to say that when I complained we were reallocated a room next door to our friends.

The room I stayed in (9) was exceptionally good value for money. It was not 5* Ritz, but I never paid five star money. The room was showing its age, but was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, a few tatty bits, but clean, shower was better than some hotel's I have stayed in peviously and spent a lot of money on. The water was scaldingly hot. The food availible was limited, so I ate out. Breakfast was very good. All the staff I came into contact with were very welcoming and friendly. Dave, I beleive his name was, was the guy who greated me on arrival. His tone, greeting and helpfulness let me know I was in for a good four days. Other staff were very friendly as well. There is lots of parking behind the hotel. You should give ita try, as long as you do not expect glammor. Just expect a great looking building, in a good location, good parking and with very good staff. I fail to understand why this hotel is not busier, unless its somthing to do with Inverrurie, which I doubt. I have to say that at the price I paid for 4 nights, I was not expecting to be so happy with my choice of hotel. BUT I WAS!! ;-)

Travelling from Somerset to Inverrury, by car, in one day, i was a bit peckish on arrival. The hoteel resterant stop serving food at 8:30pm and local takeaways shut at 9pm, so finding somthing to eat was difficult. No room service or sandwichs was avilible at the hotel. Believe it or not, the water was too hot. scalding your hands. There was not anything alse to dislike. The hotel, for some reason was not busy, so lacked a buzz.

We stay there twice a year usually everything is perfect for us staff, comfort and location

This time we thought that loose ends need to be tidied up, not so perfect as usual but we are sure things will improve soon. The breakfasts still very good and staff also, they are trying very hard.

The room was lovely and very comfortable, the bathroom spacious and included a bath which I don't see often anymore. The hotel itself felt very safe regarding Covid. The staff were lovely and made my 3 year old smile. She was very happy and comfortable!

Our room had an adjacent room (I assume for larger family stays to provide connecting rooms) and unfortunately we found our neighbor to be really loud. My daughter struggled to get to sleep at her bedtime and wasn't down until midnight ever night because the TV in the other room felt like it was on full blast in our room.

The location of this property is exactly where I needed it, and at an amazing price for a double room. The staff were really human, and not robotic like some other places. I was shown the food menu, which wasn’t expensive at all, and given clear instructions on where my room was. It’s an older building with old building charm, if you like creaky floorboards, and low lighting, this one is for you. There’s nothing really modern about the place, which I actually liked, it was an honest, and clean place. TV and it’s remote actually worked perfectly, and remote was cleaned properly too. Bed and pillows were perfect, woke up without a broken neck, something I usually have in hotels. The shower/toilet room were absolutely immaculate, really well cleaned. Tea and coffee was also available in the room.

My room window was had water leaking through from somewhere, and didn’t shut properly, so it let wind in all night. This isn’t a complaint for me, because I like a cold room. It will be mentioned to the owner as it’s still a repair needing done. There’s nothing I disliked about this property, I’ll certainly be using it again shortly.

Perfect for my needs and the food was exceptional and I mean exceptional. You can tell a lot of time and effort is spent in the kitchen preparing the wonderful meals on offer. My room was huge and was easily able to set up work from there. Comfortable bed and very quiet. Spotlessly clean bathroom. Will book again

The shower curtain over bath was covered in mould and the grouting on tiles was needing redone as it was grotty. under rim of toilet and under sink basin needs a good clean which wouldn't take long to do. just details missed and this was an upgraded room so dread to think what other room was like!!

The room was quiet and peacfull, sapcious and warm, well away from the bar and hubub, just what we like. the meals were plentyful, and well cooked, some home made sauces were very good.

the only fly in the ointment, we couldn't get the shower to work properly, but there was plenty of washing facility.

Room was really cosy and warm with plenty room ,breakfast was excellent and food in restaurant was amazing compliments to the chef. Staff were very friendly

Rooms could do with a revamp but are still clean . The first room we were given was really cold but manager soon rectified this and gave us a free upgrade
