Everything was clean and well appointed. The bathroom spacious. The bed and pillows generous. Nothing to not like.

We were'nt there long enough to find anything we didn't like but maybe one of those refillable squeeze dispensers on the shower wall for body wash and shampoo as there was nowhere to place the paper sachets and they are annoying for everyone. The dispensers are in most hotels etc in Europe and providing they are filled they are an easy solution. I am only writing this for the owners to see as there was Nothing not to like. It was all just perfect.

Glenfern Villas are a little village of more recently built ski-style loft villas. The unit we occupied was a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom with a well appointed small kitchenette with table for 4. The living room had two small sofas and TV with NZ channels. Nice soap, shampoo and conditioner was provided and they gave us fresh milk for coffee. Simone at reception was very nice, professional and knowledgeable.

Driving into Franz Josef is best, walking is ok in the day but is 3/4 of an hour each way.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment / cottage which has everything you need for a family holiday. Location is perfect; just outside of town, which is great as it is very quite (no helicopter tour flight noises for example). Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Our kids had a blast feeding the cows and sheep and playing with long balls and the trampoline.

Wifi was slow sometimes.

Has a bit of vintage feel to it with wooden cabins. Not that far from Franz Joseph city center (just over 2 kms). Very friendly staff. Great views from the villas. Board Games and Movies (DVDs) available to borrow from reception for the rainy day.

Beds could have been a bit better. Could feel springs in the mattress. Bathroom door didn't lock in one of the villas. Dishwasher would have been handy.

Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was super helpful! She walked us to our villa and gave us great recommendations on rainy or cloudy day activities and where we might be interested in grabbing dinner or coffee the next morning. Cleanliness is incredibly important to me and it met my expectations. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of amenities and it was nice having a spacious living room too!

The property was nice. Location too was convenient (5 minutes walking distance from the lake). Other than a clothes dryer it had all the amenities.

Would have preferred if the bath and toilet were separate instead of a composite one. For 5 to manage an early start with just one bath/toilet becomes an issue.

Amazing and friendly staff, Kim was incredible. When there was a power outage she brought us boiling water in a kettle to make tea whilst we waited for it to come back on. Rooms are comfortable with standard amenities.

Toilets could smell a little after whole house used it, but opening the window solved this problem easily.

Everything. German girl who worked at the counter ok check in was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and made us feel right at home. Someone give her a bonus. All the facilities were great, we were pretty tired so proceeded to have a lot of hot drinks and wind down for the night as we had an early check out. Bed was comfy, room was spotless and the amenities were excellent. Laundry facility was very useful, 24 hours, also you didn't really need the drier in the summer when the sun is out. It takes coins, so be ready for that. Also the parking is awesome, right next to the villa. Location is a short drive from town, you can probably walk it too. The view from the room is stunning. It's amazing this place was available at the last minute considering everything else was booked out. Everything in Franz Josef is a ripoff really, but this place is incredible value for money.

Wifi required us to login via browser. Not a biggie, everything else is perfect.

Location, type of concept with second floor second bedroom, very comfortable and quiet in spite my room was near to road and garden chairs has no view as facing beautiful ferns

Would love in room washing / dryer and a mini dishwasher as I love cook my food

Everything was very clean and quiet. There was a lot of space also. We weren't there long enough to use the outdoor space but the little deck looked nice and relaxing.

The place could use some updates but it was still comfortable and our stay was pleasant.
