Great room. Bright and airy. Great location. Private off street parking which was an important point for us. Cooked full English breakfast each morning was very good and staff were pleasant and attentive. Although clearly very busy, we were not aware of noise from other residents. For younger guests there was a great selection of toys and games available. Check in and out was easy and hassle free. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good base to explore York. Good bus service and sightseeing bus stops a 5 min walk away.

Decor tired in places. Our room was situated at rear and up on the second floor, so lots of stairs to consider. Railway line (a busy one) at bottom of garden, and overnight rail works were being carried out during our stay. Works were certainly noisy and very bright floodlights in operation at that time.

So many thoughtful touches. The hospitality tray was great, with a good choice of drinks, the usual biscuit packet, but also a chocolate bar. There was even a tiny tabletop fridge we made use of, in the room. Breakfast was plentiful. The property itself is a little dated in some areas, but all areas are clean and the whole place has a welcoming feeling. Parking for both our motorbikes was perfect with plenty of room in this rear secure area. The owners are a delight and so obliging. We will definitely be back.

The shower was not the best, as the water got cooler as you used it. The lock of our room was annoyingly difficult to use. We stood several minutes each morning trying to get the key to turn.

The location was great, not right in the centre but close enough to walk to everything. The bed was so comfy I had the best sleep on it. The breakfast was delicious and was cooked when sat at the table. The tea and coffee in the room was good quality, not cheap stuff, and the treat of a yorkie bar was nice. The bottles on water in the fridge was nice, too, after a day of walking around. The staff were really friendly, I asked for a bottle to be put in the room for my boyfriends birthday, which they did and sent a card for him too. Nice to have private parking, too. Would definitely go back.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Very warm welcome from Danielle who suggested places to eat & visit. Lovely well equipped room & bathroom. Pleasantly surprised to have biscuits, chocolate bar, bottles of water, sachets of hot chocolate,cappuccinos & a fridge available. King sized bed very comfortable & lots of hot water via power shower. Large breakfast choice & drinks provided. Close to centre of York. Large car park where we were able to leave our car to visit York even though we had already checked out. Would gladly stay again when visiting York.

Everything was fabulous, the hotel is in a brilliant location for exploring the city as it's a 10 minute walk from the center and plenty of food options even closer. The car park was a major bonus. Breakfast in the morning was delicious as was the coffee. Warm, welcoming environment with fabulous owners. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in York.

My only "meh" was the shower in our room was a little claustrophobic for my 6.3ft husband. Only mentioning for review purposes because if you are of larger build or very tall you may struggle a little. I can't comment on shower facilities in other rooms I'm 5.5 and it was fine for me 😊

We loved our stay in The Apple House 🏠. We were made very welcome when we arrived. Breakfast was wonderful. Kept us going for most of the day. I would recommend to our friends and family. I would give them 100/% for the 3days we were there.The whole place was lovely. Plenty Books to read. Cannot fault the place. Good Value. To. Please send this on to the lovely folks. Thank you. Comfy beds. Also tea/coffee and biscuits 😋. What more can l say. Well done They made you feel welcome like family nothing was to much. From everyone. ❤️.

Nothing we didn't like.

The room was very clean and tidy. Nice selection of hot drinks although would have liked an option for decaf tea. Breakfast couldn't have been better. Good selection of fresh fruit and cereals and a faultless full English. We loved the location as it was very close to the centre and an easy walk to the Barbican where we went on the evening. It was great that we could leave our car parked there during the following day so we could look around York.

Although the location is excellent for access to lots of things, the downside is it's pretty close to the railway which kept us awake during the night. You can't have it both ways I guess!

Perfect location for walking in to the City and all of the sights. Parking at the property is plentiful. The Owners and Staff are very friendly and attentive to detail. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in over the years. Excellent accommodation and plentiful and varied breakfast. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

The owners were very helpful and friendly and very accommodating as we arrived early they had our room already for us to just drop our bags and peruse York.We had free parking provided and an exceptional breakfast and best of all short walk into the heart of York,what was there not to like

Although it had nothing to do with the owners the only thing that annoyed me was that an ageing couple down for their breakfast were doing work on their laptop which kept making bleeping noises, I mean could they not do this in their room....most annoying!

We stayed in one of the lofts apartments the room was a good size for 2 adults and a guide dog bed was very comfortable the view from our room was amazing my other half said you could see most of York the radiator and heater was easy to work and kicked some heat out which kept the room warm we also had bottles of water, tea bags, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room which we found a nice touch the guest house was clean throughout definitely be back again with our daughter
