What made the biggest positive impression was our host. I don't know if he is the owner or an employee but he is a most pleasant and helpful man. Everything was done with an enormous smile, even though he was under a lot of pressure because of a last minute piece of reorganisation, due to the weather. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Tea and coffee facilities were good.

The shower was a bit crap. It is obvious that a new flexible pipe has been fitted at some stage and it is too short. Thus, it "pinches" the water flow when the shower head is raised.

Really good location with places on the doorstep to eat and drink too. Would recommend and stay there again. Bedroom was lovely and bed was comfortable as well. Bedroom was clean and staff were friendly. We sourced parking elsewhere but wasn't far to walk to. Would recommend the Broadway plaza for parking as it's cheaper for 24 hours compared to other places nearby.

Not enough parking and car parks nearby were highly priced and only up to 14 hour parking. Felt ripped off but sourced parking 8 mins walk away which was much cheaper and easier for 24 hours parking. Other than that no issues with hotel.

Well located to where I was working, but also a short walk to the city centre amenities. The restaurant was excellent, and although I did not use it personally, the use of the adjacent gym was a nice bonus.

The restaurant was great for evenings (not open every evening) but the lack of breakfast facilities was felt, although here are options very close to the hotel. Parking is available but is quite limited if the hotel were at full capacity.

Room was comfortable and quiet, I slept really well (v important!); great location for the city centre with a tram stop within a few minutes walking distance; car parking space immediately outside but if not available it is possible to park for extended stays in the large Morrison's car park opposite; staff were extremely helpful with enquiries both prior to and during my stay. I didn't use the restaurant facilities but the food and dining spaces looked great and I would certainly try next time. Overall a great stay and I will certainly book again, thanks!

Not a problem for me, but stairs to the accommodation on the 1st and 2nd floor levels could be problematic for anyone with mobility problems. The WiFi on the 2nd floor was a bit temperamental but to be expected so high up and in an older building. Some aspects of the room were a little bit 'tired' eg. curtains but certainly did not detract from an otherwise very enjoyable stay,

The guest house consists of a lovely period building, tiled floor and lots of features throughout. the place was comfortable , felt welcoming and the young staff were friendly. The bar was attractive as was the restaurant and enclosed pretty garden with Tiki bar where they have bands each Friday. We ate snacks Thai, Malaysian Japanese , delicious! I liked everything about the Blue Piano !The the bedrooms housed a comfortable bed in a large room with more period furniture comfortable sheets and duvet a huge TV m, fridge, desk the usual tea n coffee . the sash windows opened. the bathroom was huge with lovely fresh tiled decor 2 sinks shower over bath . the guest house is in a part residential part small businesses area. it felt safe friendly and was very quiet considering proximity to ring roads, only 20 minutes to Villa Park. I wholeheartedly recommend a short stay here, a meal or evening out. It was expensive and breakfast included would have improved my value for money. but head and shoulders nicer than chain hotels.

no included breakfast!

Comfy bed, nice big bathroom. Coffee and tea provided in room. Bath products nice. Very easy to get to from city center on the tram. Far enough from the nice and hassle busses of the city

The kettle kept switching off. The radiator in the room didn't give off much heat, but the newer one in bathroom was better. Difficult to get a decent water temp in the shower without being scalding or tepid. Thankfully stayed mid week and was perfectly quiet. Not sure if a weekend would be the same. Shame breakfast can't be provided despite having a restaurant there, but lots of good options close by

Very unique surroundings. Owners very friendly. We were there for a cricket match at Edgbaston on a Saturday and Sunday night. Unfortunately the bar does not open on a Sunday and the day we went, I think we were the only people there. It would have been nice to sit outside the back in their garden on that day. The Saturday however was great and very busy and welcoming.

Bar closed on the Sunday and it would have been good to have breakfast at the blue piano.

The Blue Piano rooms 3 & 3A were warm and quiet. The bathroom was spacious and the bath was lovely, the shower cubicle was roomy and the mirror large (this is in Room 3, room 3A access it via a connecting door into room 3). The double bed in room 3 and the 2 singles in room 3A were comfortable with clean bedding, additional fleece blankets if needed, nice pillows and a good towel selection. There was ample storage space in 3 and reasonable storage in room 3A. There was tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits and kettle in Room 3, also a hairdryer, huge mirror, iron and ironing board and a socket by the bed. There are a few parking spaces at the front of the building. I was able to have early check in at 11am for a small fee. There is a Morrisons within walking distance though at the time of writing (Oct 2023) the cafe is shut. The Blue Piano is about 20 minutes walk from Utilita Arena / Lego / Sealife Centre. There is also on the road several buses that take you most of the way there too.

The shower dripped, there was no hand soap in the basin dispenser. There was a water dripping noise in the wall between the 2 rooms. The bin in Room 3 still had rubbish in it. At 11am check out there was a phone number and a basket for the key, no staff.

Our room, at the back of the Property, was lovely: spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a good WiFi, a good TV, excellent ensuite (fantastic shower!) facilities and a large double bed. There was plenty of room to move about. I particularly liked the original features in the building. We were able to park at the property and, for us, this was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here. One of us made use of the (fantastic) gym that is across the road from the property. On day two, we walked into Birmingham City centre...an easy and interesting walk. We enjoyed dinner at The Physician bar and restaurant, just several doors away from The Blue Piano and breakfasts at The Boston Tea Party, almost next door and not to be missed. We were welcomed when we arrived at The Blue Piano and when I asked for a hairdryer, one was given straight away. All in all, a really good stay. I think we'll be back!

The room we were in was lovely: clearly well maintained. The upstairs hallways are a little 'tired', not that it spoiled our stay.

The hotel is in an excellent location just outside the clean air zone. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed was comfortable.

The limited parking at the hotel was already taken and car parks in the area are deceptively expensive. If you are not careful, over 4 hours on the day of arrival will cost £20 and after 8am the next day over 4 hours will cost another £20!! However, if you park in Morrisons car park which is opposite the hotel you will pay £5.60 for 24hrs. A bit different to £40!! The restaurant at the hotel looks interesting but breakfast wasn't available. Not a problem as we were quite happy to wander down the road to the Cozy Club.
