Great decor, fab bar good drinks selection with great bar staff, young man got us a round of shots for our hen party group! Very comfortable beds amazing pillows! Unique pictures on the walls in the rooms.

The music the DJ was playing, techno? No water in the room, Very clean however every time we came down the corridors there were lots of trays and empty glasses on the floors despite being all different times of the day, no water in our room but other members of our group had water in their room provided, jacuzzi was not working so we didn't bother going in toe spa which was something we were looking forward to doing part of the reason we chose this hotel.

Room was lovely, clean, spacious, comfortable. Good bathroom, good bath, most hotels have terrible water pressure on the shower and baths in the standard rooms but this one was good. I did get a complimentary drink voucher to use. In town so close to entertainment/shopping. It was my birthday treat and I asked the hotel to leave me something nice which they did, appreciated.

Room service menu isn't the best, also it wasn't obvious to me if it was 24 hour room service or not. I had to google it. Also there's a reduced night time room service menu that starts from 9pm. Again, wasnt sure if that ended at a certain time or if it was 24 hour service, when did the main menu start again. 9am? 12pm? Wasnt clear. Also the room seemed rather dark even with all the lights on, the bathroom was brighter than the main room.

Friendly helpful staff, 2 almost free glasses of prossecco because we didn't have our rooms cleaned as only stayed weekend. Would have wanted them cleaned if we had stayed longer though. We had booked a meal in hotel restaurant on evening we arrived the sea bass and fizz and it was delicious

Breakfast was cold and bacon hard like plastic. Had continental breakfast following day and that was lovely. Very pricey breakfast though. Would have liked to have booked onto spa but was unable to do so but as it was we still had a wonderful time visiting family

The staff were actually the magic part. Lots of different characters, all of them helpful, patient, supportive and problem solvers. A huge credit to the team. I was visiting a critically ill relative in hospital and was a bit low in the joy department. I asked for a quiet table away from the celebrating tables and this was quickly possible. Ten mins from hospital. The star bucks at the entrance was ideal as I skipped brekkie and took a coffee each morn on the run. I arrived by train to Brum and was a short, easy and safe feeling walk. The room was a decent size for a basic one. Menu was very good. Lots of shops and other restaurants and canal a quick stroll away. Pretty prefect for me!

This was a 40th celebration booking for my partner and friend. They loved the luxury and facilities in the room...I had ordered a bottle of prosecco for the room, and in addition the hotel provided little treats and had 'iced' a plate with 'Happy Birthday'. I had also paid for an evening meal which was thoroughly enjoyed (her friend being a vegetarian was very please with her dish). In addition they provided a pudding with a candle, and once again 'iced' with Happy Birthday! Breakfast in the morning was once again 'top-notch', and a great start to the day. The added attention to detail was very well received and made the overnight stay very special.

Our stay was pleasant, and checking in was smooth and easy. I asked for a cot to be placed in the suite prior to our stay, and the staff also included a changing mat and nappy bin. Very thoughtful and useful. Our baby was a bit restless during the night, so we were able to pay for a late checkout. This was a lifesaver as we had a long journey back home.

This may not be something that is possible, but it would have been nice to get a discounted price on parking as part of the stay. I also think more sockets are needed for a 1 bedroom suite. We had to plug in the bottle warmer near the TV, which is never a great idea.

We had a one night stay at Malmaison Birmingham recently. The staff were very friendly during check in and in the lovely hotel bar. The location is excellent (especially for the station and plenty of canalside bars and restaurants) and the room was a very good size and was clean and very comfortable.

The room was a little on the warm side, but the air conditioning unit was quite noisy so not ideal to use during the night, but not a major issue. Breakfast offering was very expensive so we opted to grab breakfast elsewhere in the morning. Again, not a major issue as lots of other options nearby.

We were upgraded to Nirvana Suite which I never thought we would be able to afford to stay in. It was my hubbies b'day and we were meant to be abroad on holiday but I had to cancel due to surgery and being unable to fly. I emailed the hotel and asked if they could help me make it special and they truly stepped up to the mark. We ate in restaurant and food was delicious! And have to say the breakfast is the best of any hotel I've ever stayed in. We lived the rock star life for a night. Drank wine in the jacuzzi watching massive screen TV on a sound bar at midnight and did not want to leave. Thank you everyone. You made our stay super special x

We were charged for a bottle of wine in the restaurant when I only had a glass but that was quickly sorted and the waiter apologised. Only other criticism is that the music in the bar was not too our taste but then we are late 50's so maybe appealed to others. Otherwise seriously cannot fault the place. My hubby did not want yo leave.

Staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and spacious. Mostly everything I could’ve hope for on a basic city break.

As a first-time stayer at Malmaison, Birmingham, it was a little bit difficult to find, coming from New Street. There was a bit of a wait at checkin. When I requested room service, the receptionist said that I didn’t have my card details with them (because I’d paid in advance?). So I didn’t order. I hadn’t been given that option at reception earlier.

Early check in was excellent, room was nice and large with good facilities (ie tea/coffee making). Bathroom a good size and walls offered a quiet nights sleep with little noise heard elsewhere. Location is very good if you're looking for easy access into Bullring/Grand Central and the Mailbox/Waterfront.

Lack of quiet evening bar. Coming back to the hotel at 10.30 & needing to sit in the Malmaison Bar with a group of drunk revellers doesn't really appeal greatly. Not happy either being charged £12.00 for a Baileys which wasn't a Baileys!
