Small but comfortable single room. Warm welcome from the staff who were chatty and helpful throughout. I really enjoyed my steak pie and chips - very tasty as was pudding . Less than £30 for 2 courses including a pint . Great value. Parmos , a local delicacy, feature on the menu here and the staff were happy to talk through the options with my neighbours. Cooked Breakfast was good . I could tell the ingredients were of a better quality than your average pub breakfast The Queen Catherine is what local pubs should aspire to

Very reasonable price, comfortable bed, good food, very nice breakfast (bacon was perfectly done). They also threw in my evening meal for free, I'm not sure why but it was a lovely surprise. It gives the impression of being cosy in winter and cool in summer, and was comfortable in the sunburny rainy mishmash we had last weekend.

The wallpaper is lifting in a couple of places, (although that makes one feel a little less bad about walking in in muddy boots!) and the internet took a while to connect.

I booked the Queen Catherine but I actually stayed across the road in The Three Tuns Pub. All seemed a little strange as they tried to put me in a B&B in the village but the owner was out and we couldn’t get in. Once I got to my room it was exceptional and much better than expected. I would easily give the a 10, but after hiking 19 miles I just wanted a shower and not trailing around other places to find me a room. Ate in the Queen Catherine and had a few beers. It was a nice place.

As for others, I stayed instead at The Three Tuns over the road (there was a sign on the door that the hotel is closed for refurb, and to go over the road!), but all was seamless, the Three Tuns very nice, a lovely room, friendly welcoming helpful staff, and I was upgraded for free to a very nice double with breakfast too! Perfect for the Cleveland Way and Osmotherley is beautiful.

I guess it would’ve been nice to know about the hotel change ahead of arrival.

The location was perfect as I was walking the Cleveland Way and this was right on it. Osmotherley is a beautiful village. Staff were friendly. The pub was traditional and had a good feel to it, with a nice outdoor seating area too.

If you call a room ‘deluxe’ it raises expectations to beyond what is actually on offer - which was a decent room. Because of the age of the building the shower room was very compact. Site says ‘soundproofed’ but we were in a building over the road and could hear footsteps and conversations of the person above us who was only quiet for 5 hours of the night.

Excellent tasty full English breakfast, The staff in particular were very helpful and friendly, especially the lady in charge, when we arrived, who couldn’t have done more for us. Carrying our heavy suitcases upstairs, providing us with fresh milk and being very welcoming and a lovely friendly attitude. I would definitely book to stay there again, at the Three Tuns that is, but feel I should mention the points below.

We arrived at the Queen Catherine to find it was closed and only opened at weekends during the winter. A notice directed us to The Three Tuns, it’s sister pub which was excellent, but we had received no email informing us of this!! Above rating refers to the Three Tuns, we never stepped inside QC. I would also have expected a table laid at breakfast with a choice of cereals, maybe fruit. This was never mentioned or offered to us. We were offered jam to put on our pre buttered toast.

The staff were very attentive and helpful at all times. The restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was very good with ample choice and quantity. Overall, it was very good value for money

Due to the age and layout of the building, ensuite facilities had been squeezed into the rooms and were really small. Our toilet had recently been replaced, but the wall behind the new cistern had not been made good. The shower temperature was really difficult to regulate and was scalding hot. There was a warning sign. Generally, the room needed a good clean.

Arrived to friendly staff saying that we weren't to be accommodated in the main part of the pub and I thought "Uh oh...!" Then they said we've put you in the annex across the road but we've upgraded you to a room each (we had only booked a twin). The rooms in the annexe were beautiful and really well appointed, exceptional bathroom. Dinner at the pub was also excellent and good value for money. Would return.

Worked well as an overnight stop to visit friends in the village and do a walk the next day Warm and comfy room Great shower (wet room) convenient parking outside (on-the street)

Expensive for a basic room No room available with a double bed no opening windows so very stuffy with the heating on

I enjoyed my stay, staff where great hotel Lovely, location amazing. I read a review earlier and it said 1 out of 10 , they must of stayed in a different hotel. The manager said it was a hen party and they where causing lots of problems, singing shouting and been drunk, well hope they don't return.
